Yes! Congratulations Andy!!
Faithful Zenyatta Supporter
Yep Sheena,
I too enjoy tennis and watch a lot on tv. Glad for Murray. I get so nervous when one of Zenny’s boys race. Geez…

A good horse will overcome obstacles. This is his last chance before I wont follow him anymore. 3 races should be enough to air one up leg one up and learn what they are supposed to do. Love his momma though.
Melody bowser
So you only like him cause he runs? How shallow!
lauraj_cincinnati
I’m sure he doesn’t care if you don’t follow him.
However, he is learning his business pretty well. His last race was against a tough field–the second-place horse had recently finished second in a graded stakes race. Ziconic showed a nice turn of foot; he was simply too far back to catch up. That may not have been his fault. Good horses sometimes take a few races to break their maidens, and he had such a bad start in his second race that it wasn’t a good evaluation of what he can really do, IMO.
Marshall (NC Broad)
Well said, Laura!
Go Ziconic! We love you and support you along with all of Team Z. Zenyatta’s Red Prince is making good progress. It’s early days yet, and “fair weather friends” don’t add much anyway.
Hugs

Hello Laura and Marshall.
Totally agree on your reply that horses take a few races to catch up. They need to mature. Ziconic is one of them.
Every horse just like us humans is different. We practice, we work hard, we lose, we win. Seems some just expect too much from Zenny’s babies. They should not compare them to her.
There will only be one Zenyatta. Just as there have been other great horses. We will see more horses coming of age. Ziconic will be one of them.
Sophia Gates
Bravo! We love Ziconic, rain or shine!
Meanwhile, oh goody?
I’m glad Victor is riding. Zi has “stuff,” speed and desire.

There’s this horse called Seabiscuit that lost his first 17 races. Not trying to put Ziconic on anywhere near the same level as Seabiscuit – just saying that sometimes it takes a little while for a horse to get rolling. As Laura said, there have been plenty of good horses that took a few races to get it all put together. I’m willing to give Ziconic more time (and I, too, think he needs to be closer to the race – he was awfully far back last time out).

I will follow him every day of his life whether he turns out to be a good runner or not. The same for big brother, Coz. I am sure most on this blog will be right there along with me. And you gotta admit, he is one handsome dude!

I will always love Zenyatta and her beautiful boys. What has happened to Cosmic One. Have not heard about how he is doing. Go Ziconic this will be your day and mommy willbe so proud of you no matter where you come it. Thank you Team Z for sharing. Hugs and kisses to Zenyatta and her precious boys. I love Zenyatta and her boys sooooo much.
LauraJ_Cincinnati
Cozmic One is still at Santa Anita. He has been working out. His last work was on May 23, 6 furlongs in 1:17.60 handily, 7/7 at that distance. His previous work was on May 14. He worked three times in May and twice in April, so he doesn’t seem to be injured. I have no idea why he hasn’t been entered in a race for almost a year. He was eligible for the last race that Ziconic ran in and this one as well.
Judy B from Rhode Island
Dear Laura J:
Thanks for this info on COZ. I have been worried about him. As you say, he doesn’t appear to have health issues, so hopefully we’ll see him racing soon. Love and Hugs, JB
