Dear fans,
Ziconic is set to run on Saturday at Santa Anita. He’s entered in Race 8, going 1 1/16 on the dirt. He is post 10 of 11 in the field, with Victor Espinoza riding. Post time is approximately 5:30 p.m. PT.
Ziconic has been schooling with his pal Mario, and Dottie sent us these photos. Go Ziconic!
We’d also like to congratulate the winner of our Walk of Champions Gala giveaway, Catherine Simmons of Boonville, IN. See you at the gala, Catherine!

What do we expect? To know makes a difference. We must have a vision or a picture of what we expect. If we do not, life will give us what it has-good or bad. If we watch someone else who is not well, who is needy and unhappy, and believe what they are doing will probably come to us, we are inviting trouble. We need to begin now to act as if we are well and happy. We must learn to expect good the same way we unconsciously expect trouble. It is one or the other-our choice. Like a plant fertilized and given light, we will bloom with a little help.
There is One that made all this, who shows us everything.

Congratulations to Ziconicome and his connections on his his performance in his third start. He is learning and in my opinion did a great job and will only improve with experience. Whenever he is entered he creates a lot of interest and excitement to the races. Ziconic is “good for racing.”

We look forward to Rawnaq returning to these shores for the Cheltenham festival given he is the Irish bred son of Azamour.Willie’ s planning to return next year to Tennessee. He was pleased with his horses performance and so was I.Of course every owner and trainer enters his horse to win but given their long season and the journey to the US I applaud their fine effort. As we all know it’s the taking part that counts.Plus the ‘Fly’ has taken to biting his over enthusiastic fans!Look out.Sheena

Ziconic did a GREAT job! Personally, I’d rather see him progress a step at a time just as he’s doing than win everything all at once and be run out before his time. Case in point Strike the Gold won the Kentucky Derby in 1990,but came up short in the Preakness and Belmont. In fact he lost 12 times before getting back to the Winner’s Circle. Why? Unfortunately, he was kind of the reverse of Zenyatta. in that he was always last at the beginning of the race and came flying at the last, but always seemed to be a bit short. Not to worry!! After seeing our Ziconic run, I’m sure we can agree that it won’t be long before we see him in the Winners Circle.

Just 28 days after breaking his maiden at Navan The Gurkha demolishes his rivals in the Poulains for Aidan and Ryan Moore.Epsom Derby maybe?Aidan is not committing himself yet.As a son of Galileo he should get the distance but the Derby is a whole different ball game.Sheena

CONGRATULATIONS TO THE REDHEAD + TEAM Z ON HIS GREAT PERFORMANCE YESTERDAY!!!!
It was so exciting to watch him pick it up on the backstretch and then go after the leaders in the home stretch. Just a SUPER effort! I thought that he & Victor looked a really good fit and was pleased to see how beautifully he coped with everything pre-race.
I just feel very privileged to be able to watch the development of Zenny’s boys even though, as a retired teacher, I certainly recognize many features of horse training and performance that are identical to what students do as they learn and grow. But it’s still very, very special to be at “centre stage” with Zenny’s boys.
Thank you so much Team Z. Looking forward to future developments. Love & hugs to all!

Good show from Ziconic and Victor, I was worried for a while but Zenny’s genes saved the day with that fantastic come from behind run. Ziconic is still young and growing into himself so it won’t be long before he’s first past the post.

I watched Ziconic’ s race he looks like he needs 10 furlongs, he is only just getting into top gear at the end of the race.

Dear Sheena, we havn’t corresponded much yet but i have begun following the Ospreys. I am thrilled to know of them. And happy that there are some chicks. I have prayed for many little creatures who were threatened. A lot, not all, survived, including my daughter , Melody, who was given 3 hours to live in 1974. She is alive today. I am writing her story as it continues. It is called”Dance to the music and you shall hear it. ” Your baby chicks and their Moms and dads have grabbed my heart. I am praying fiercely from my heart for them. Some of my prayers failed, but I always tried. Especially difficult were Zenny’s War Front babies. But Rachel Alexandra and her foals lived and so did she, even with all the difficulties she and they endured.
Praying for the struggling Osprey families,
Sincerely, and
Thank you,
Zennys friend from her early 3 and her 4 year old and later years, Marilyn Braudrick (california)

Dear Marilyn.I was introduced to Monty and his then partner Nora in 2011 when the first osprey chicks arrived in mid-Wales for over 400years.Now we have 8 breeding pairs.I follow Manton Bay and the Loch of Lowes as well. Some of our prayers are not meant to be answered in the way we wish.I am so happy to hear your daughter Melody survived.I got to know Zenyatta in her later years and fell in love with her.Love and hugs Sheena.

Use the thing at hand to get things done. Don’t wait for the miracle of the helping hand. Your hand is the helping hand. Don’t dwell on the idea that you have to win a lottery to be wealthy. Wealth is so much more than a ton of money. Simply, what do you believe? Not lovable? Show someone kindness and make others know they are important. Not handsome? The most beautiful people are those who are not arrogant and who never try to impress anyone with their importance and take-charge attitudes.
Start here and now being kind-to yourself as well as others. Kindness to oneself is not spending money, not eating and drinking the wrong things, not believing that smoking keeps you thin. Trouble lurks close by and tells us we cannot help ourselves. Yes, we can! Challenge yourself to overcome one thing and three will disappear. Simplify, and see the truth of things.
Take away all arrogance and hatred which separates us from our brothers.

Dear Kathy.I cannot bear arrogance those who think they know it all.One has to start by being kind to oneself.Fantastic blog on the Dyfi about Clarach’s behaviour and a 3rd chick has arrived at Manton Bay!Maya is a superb mum. There’s a great article about Moosie in Racing Post today and his new life.As long as Soph lets him believe everything is his own idea all is well but he took part in a hunter class recently and as soon as he got in the arena he planted himself and nothing would move him.So happy to see the “old Moose”is still alive and well!
I really enjoyed Her Majesty’s birthday party last night isn’t it super to have Windsor home park as your back garden??But the horses were the stars of the show for me.I posted a link on my FB you will have to scroll down though.Viktor and team have rescued a dog called Noa who was put to live on a roof when owner tired of her.A neighbour had sent them a video and when they got her she brought along her only toy a STONE!Now she will be loved. They should him to save Mr No Ears no nonsense approach. Is Mr Fibbs coming to Kentucky tomorrow to get botes? We have to disappear in our socks today.Zoe looked gorgeous in her dress didn’t she? and she got Banilla ice cream too.Ray enjoyed himself yesterday and mentioned Atticus in his prayers.I pray Tom will get another dog in time.I miss regular posts from Boo.Bob has nearly 460,000 friends now!Plus a film and 6 books.Remember to turtle.Love and hugs to you, kisses for Angel Holly.Nikko and Sugar.SheenaXOXO
Kathy
Dear Sheena,
Just saying hi. A lot of the time the animal mums seem a lot better at it than a lot of the 2-legged variety! Have to laugh at Moose and Soph. Isn’t it just like so many men…happy as clams as long as they think it’s THEIR idea! lol The coverage of Her Majesty’s birthday have been outstanding, I’m sure! I will look for your link on FB about the horses when I get the chance. Poor Noa. Thank God she’s been rescued! If Fibbs comes to KY he might be near Lane’s End! Love the sock pic today, looks very cozy! I love Zoe’s Easter dress from last year. Yay for banilla ice cream! Very sweet of Ray to mention Atticus. I miss regular posts from Boo, too. Yay Bob! I’ll be turtling. Have a wonderful day! Angel Holly, Nikko, Sugar and Kathy XOXO

Thanks Judy. Never heard of this horse before, but hope he makes it into the Preakness and does well. You can never count those MdO’s out. Of course, I am sticking with Exaggerator and Gun Runner. I’m the one who picked Alydar over Affirmed and Easy Goer over Sunday Silence. And still Alydar is my beloved Alydar.

Good job Ziconic!
Well behaved in paddock.
Well behaved in gate.. Good start.
Noticed some equipment changes:
no shadow roll, D-ring with snaffle bit, and
cotton in the ears (just like Mama)
You got the idea of what is expected.
You were only a length and half short.
On to the next race.
This is exciting!
