Ziconic Begins His New Career

Ziconic with Linda Moss and George Bedar

Dear Fans,

I am delighted to share with you that Ziconic is moving on to his next career as an Off-The-Track-Thoroughbred! I couldn’t be happier that he now has a new home and is being welcomed into the loving arms of Linda Moss (Cousins of the Heart) and her husband, George Bedar.

Filled with enthusiasm, Linda remarks, “George and I are so incredibly honored and over the moon to have the opportunity to provide for Ziconic and to take the journey with him in the coming chapters of his life as an OTTB. This is the stuff dreams are made of, and having him join our family is beyond words.”

Ziconic will also be joining his Mom’s stablemate Milyone (also a Moss horse trained by John Shirreffs) at Templeton Farms, a Sporthorse Farm in California. We have known Linda and George since they welcomed Milyone, who has now been under their very special care for seven years.

It is our belief that horses let you know what they like to do. As Ziconic settles into his new home and new program, it will become clear what he is destined for. We are confident that Linda and George will be there to ensure that he can enjoy life and thrive.

We look forward to Ziconic becoming an Ambassador for Off-The-Track-Thoroughbreds in California and beyond, just as Cozmic One has become an OTTB Ambassador based in Kentucky.

Linda & George recently shared two things that they have already noticed about Ziconic: He is very proud of himself, and he ALWAYS knows where the camera is!

We look forward to continuing to update you on Ziconic’s transition, his new Team members, and his new happy life.

    I am so glad that Ziconic will be hopefully doing something he enjoys.
    I can’t wait to hear more about Zenyatta. I hope they will breed her at least one more time to try to get one more filly out of her. It would be cool to see Zellda and maybe one more be the ones to keep the Zen legacy going. But what ever is best for the Queen is fine with me.

      Oh my goodness, Sheena!

      What a thrilling race that was! Stradivarius and Frankie have done it again — huge Congratulations to them, John Gosden, all connections and of course, to the wonderful Sea the Stars. It was SO exciting; I was sitting on the edge waiting for an opening for this courageous boy, but what patience Frankie has, brilliant.

      Stradivarius may not be large in size but enormous in heart! He is just beautiful — this race gave me chills. My dogs wondered what I was cheering for! ?

      Loved watching the presentation of the trophy and awards by Her Majesty, also. So glad the sun came out.

      That was quite a walk for Stradivarius and groom! Boy, is he gorgeous. Her Majesty was beaming in that photo with Frankie. She always looks lovely, and the pleasure she gets from RA is quite apparent. Loved her outfit, raspberry pink, today. The soft pastels are very pretty, but the vibrant shades are outstanding. She always looks picture-perfect in whatever she wears.

      Congratulations to Hayley Turner and Thanks Be on the Sandringham win! Very impressive. Her Majesty’s Magnetic Charm was a very close second. Wish both entries could have won!

    A lovely win for Defoe in the Hardwicke Derby winner Masar stumbled out of the stalls but ran well after a lengthy spell off.And Blue Point has completed the double in the Diamond Jubilee only the 3rd horse to have done the double.His 2nd group one in a week.The first since the mighty Choisir in 2003.Congratulations to Blue Point and all his connections.Also well done to Defoe and his connections.Her Majesty in green today.

      The Chestnuts did well today, too — congratulations to Cape Byron (Wokingham win) and Cleonte (Queen Alexandra Stakes win, 2.75 miles!). Also, Dream of Dreams ran a very tight second to Blue Point.

      Congratulations to Frankie D. and Aidan O’B. on their awards, too!

      Her Majesty was lovely in the lime green outfit today. I have enjoyed Royal Ascot so much and will certainly miss it tomorrow morning! Oh, but what a fine event and what fun.

    Such a sad story to end the week.As if mother and son were meant to be together forever.He was the product of a meeting with a supposed ‘gelding’He died on monday in a maiden hurdle and his mum become unwell afte she was covered by Kayf Tara this week.Together. RIP

    Frankie and Aidan have been crowned top Jockey and Trainer at Royal Ascot.The end o a fantastic week’s racing.Thursday will stand out for me but the whole week has been amazing and Blue Point’s double today was brilliant.The 2 sides of racing in a week.

      Dear Sheena,

      This is very disturbing; however, there is something very wrong at Santa Anita which needs to be corrected — especially since horses lives are at risk. This urgently needs addressing since the Breeders’ Cup is scheduled to be there this fall.

      Congrats to Shamardal on being named leading sire at RA!

      It seems that Airlie Beach’s little filly, “Steph” (after Steph Searle who took great care of her) has a foster mare and is doing very well. The piebald mare is fittingly named “Mother”. Happy news from such a sad situation. :-) Wishing this little girl a long happy and healthy life.
