Dear Judy Goodnight God bless you Lola Mae Charlie and the Sweeties. Have been watching last episode of “the White Queen”. There’s debate as to where they will bury Richard’s remains now York Minster want him because of the house of York and He was based in Middleham.then there’s his Queen Anne Neville is in Westminster Abbey Have no idea what they will decide !! Love and Hugs Sheena
judy berube from Rhode Island
Dear Sheena:
Maybe they will decide soon. So disappointed. The White Queen wasn’t on Encore tonight. Guess they just aired the first episode last week as a preview. Hope another non-pay cable channel picks it up.
Have a great week. Love and Hugs, JB, LM, PC and all the Sweeties
Terry Crow
Judy-The White Queen was on Starz tonight, but I don’t know which episode it was.
judy berube from Rhode Island
Dear TC GP:
Thank you. Starz is the original producer for the Show. I don’t have a subscription to them. I do have Encore, which I believe is a sister channel to Starz.
The White Queen airs on Starz on Saturdays and repeats on Sundays. Because Encore aired the show last Sunday, I was hoping that would be the case every Sunday. Apparently Encore ran the first episode only, so I guess I’ll have to wait until a non-pay channel picks it up. Hugs, JB
Terry Crow
You are correct, I have both Encore and Starz so that is how I picked up on it. Come on over and we’ll watch it together.
Barbara Wood (Texas)
Thank you, Sheena, for this update. Episode 2 was Saturday night. Hugs.

So glad to hear Sue Noel Barnaby and Traveller are safe and sound. Hugs Sheena

Sheena. Take a look at this tweet from Moosie’s shrink. It may explain why Moosie quickly went on vacation. Lots of new tweets from Moosie. He must be back in training?

carol-I answered your question about bridgejumpers on the previous page. The name is given to them because a lot of them have literally jumped off of bridges after a losing wager.

thanks TC…have heard the term and wondered about it…TVG talks about it a lot…

steve haskins article about “kittens” and the two new names for the Travers is very interesting…
I did my pedigree research for possibles for the Travers and was blown out of the water by Transparent’s pedigree…then I go and find the article by steve haskins and find he has the same opinion…

Dear Terry Crow,
Thanks for telling about Carla Gaines ordeal. Just couldn’t believe she would do anything bad with her horses. Glad you talked about that.
There’s usually a large crowd of California folks at the Ocala Sales. I have seen her there a couple of times. She seems like a devoted horsewoman.
Terry Crow
Peggy-If I were a current horse owner and had one in training to race, she would be my trainer.

Ordered some books from the USA – they arrived with newspaper packing, and found a little story on this place – seems they are into rescuing horses destined for the slaughter market in Mexico or Canada. Was very interesting, and a surprise to find in with my Civil War books. Cheers, KathyR.
judy berube from Rhode Island
Dear Kathy R:
Always wonderful to hear of another rescue dedicated to saving horses from slaughter. Love and Hugs, JB
Terry Crow
Kathy R-American Civil War? That is a particular interest of mine. If it is the American Civil War, what is the area that you are interested in ? I would love to start a dialogue with another Civil War buff.
Kathy R.
Dear Terry: The Civil War is one of the reasons we visited the USA. Our second trip followed the Army of Northern Virginia – so saw some wonderful battlefields (Seven Days, Bull Run, New Market, Gettysburg, Petersburg, Appomattox). I think my favourite is Sharpsburg – it’s such a small area, and so good to follow the course of the battle from sunrise to sunset. Time didn’t permit a visit to other fields, like Shiloh or Chattanooga, but maybe in the future. Unfortunately, it’s not a subject many Australians follow – and some find it very odd to have a female interested in battle strategy. Always happy to natter to another buff! Cheers KathyR.

Good Morning. Hope everyone has a wonderful week….week of The Travers! Honk, Honk! Cappers? Oh my?!
Anyway, every horse deserves something like this….

Thank you BL, this is great!
Thanks, Sandy about news of, Sue and Barnaby. Hugs

Hope this race has more than five entrants. It is tough to handicap a short field.
carol in arkansas
I have a list of 12 possibles for the Travers…broke my kindle doing pedigree searchs….I know they wont all be entered but hope for at least 2/3’s…now every time I try to use pedigree query …it tells me I am an error…going to be a good race…my O is out to pasture…so go V

Dear Ann:
Love this photo. Yes, they all deserve hugs and kisses. Love and Hugs, JB

Ann, I am really looking forward to the Travers. Gotta go with Orb and Palace Malice. Thank goodness my nemesis, Johnny V won’t be riding either of them. Orb looks absolutely sensational and Palace M. seems to be really coming into his own. Of course, with Mike riding he will do well.
carol in arkansas
“dratted” JV is going to be on V…isn’t he?
Sandy (Northeast Ohio)
This is going to be one tough week – both the Travers and the Pacific Classic (I think that’s the name). As far as I’m concerned, no “obvious” winners this time in either one! Should be fun!
Terry Crow
Sandy-Your Dullahan is running in the Pacific Classic at Del Mar. I like him to repeat. Once it has been established that a horse likes the Del Mar track, that is usually all you need to know. He beat Game On Dude last year and no reason he won’t do it again.
Sandy (Northeast Ohio)
Yea!!! That’s what I’m hoping for, of course, but am very glad to hear from someone who actually knows something :-)
Terry Crow
Who might that be?

There is only ONE scholarly red neck in this group! Heeeheee. Honk!

Dear Judy So sorry you didn’t get to see “the White Queen” last night We get what is called “freeview” over here plus the channels you subscribe to such as sky etc. Do hope one of your channels picks it up. Love and Hugs Sheena
sheena.davies(wales)
Dear Max Thanks for the pic. Can you imagine Moosie in Boot Camp?????No wonder he made a quick escape!!He’s tweeting a lot now seems his friend El Bravo is injured and he said he wasn’t so daft after all not to run!!!Cant wait to see what happens in October at least no starting stalls for the jumps!!I had never heard of Red Velvet Cake so googled it very yummy! Will have to think of baking one! hugs Sheena
Max
Sheena. I can understand why Moose took flight. Might want to use that method to get him to run in his next race. You’re very ambitious to tackle red velvet cake. I buy mine ready made.
Here is a treat for you, a photo of the young Nipper, the Tank and Kauto, according to Kauto.

I just read the article about Rachel Alexandra’s recovery. So glad she is doing so well. Because of the nature of her injury, will she be able to be bred again? I would hate to see just 2 foals out of that beautiful girl!
Terry Crow
Lynn Martin-Good to see you posting. Don’t be a stranger here. You have some valuable points to make with your experience and we always welcome those with a point of view.
carol in arkansas
I think the last on breeding Rachel I heard was….no decision about anything until she is 100% and all of her doctors agree….
Pati-Caz Girl
It might be very far down the road, but it isn’t too far fetched to see a little Rachel somewhere in a few years if her doctors give the green light.
Trisha Veazey
Hello girl and boyz. Hope you are well and happy. Think of you everyday with love and fond memories.
Going to KY in Sept for Secretariat’s celebration. Wish I could see you also, Will try when I get there.
Looking so forward to meeting Penny Chenery, what a strong and determined lady. She has fought for Secretariat since the day he was born. and long anfter his death.
What a lady.
Love hugs and kisses to all
Terry Crow
Secretariat or Man O’War? Which is the greatest of all time? It is very difficult to compare horses which never ran against each other and are from different eras. Track conditions have varied wildly in the years between these two great horses. Man O’War only lost one race but if that is your criteria then either Zenyatta or Personal Ensign must be the all time best. For me there are only two. Swaps and Dr. Fager, the two fastest horses over a distance of ground I ever saw.
Janet Newman
@ Terry Crow- When I lived back East and traveled a good deal, I visited many of the Civil War battlefields.
Gettysburg, New Market, Antietam, to name. It is sad that so many are built around or over now. I loved New Market walking in one of the fields and coming across pieces of cloth, leather, etc. I never kept them out of respect for the soldier who may have died, been wounded or survived. I loved visiting Stonewall Jackson’s home. So Many memories. I am not a buff, but I loved learning about that period in our history.
I also agree with your comment on Carla Gaines. I think she got caught in the middle and no how you cut it, she was the one to pay for it. I do believe she is a good trainer.
Terry Crow
Well, you may not be a buff but you are on your way. There has not been nearly enough done by the Federal government to preserve Civil Wat battlefields. That some of them have actually disappeared is a crime. At one time, it was proposed that Disney was going to build a theme park on the Manassas battlefield. Fortunately, it didn’t happen. Our dear celestial dumpling, Kari Bussell, was actually related to General John B. Gordon, who was in charge of the Confederate surrender at Appomattox.
Kathy R.
Now, there’s one tough General!
Pati-Caz Girl
Judy B,
I got my housing assignment and I am a floor above Katie in the same building. :-)
Pati-Caz Girl
Or just on the same floor…don’t remember how the building was planned out but we are in the same building none the less.
Sue Fredrick Happy as a lark
Zensters,
I want to thank all you pray-ers out there, and well wishers, for helping my daughter get thru her surgery with flying colors. The Doc told her hubby that the disc was crushing her nerve on one side, he couldn’t believe how she could put up with the pain. Well we women are born tough as many of you know, but she just couldn’t do it much longer. He was very pleased with the outcome so far. I hope to talk to her tonight and hear it from the horse’s mouth, ha, ha.
I’m sending thanks, love and hugs to all you special people. Grayer haired, nail chewed, Sue
Janet Newman
Sue,
Glad surgery is over and it went well.
Will send out prayers for her recovery.

Great news, Sue. Prayers now for a speedy recovery and a painfree future.

Dear Sue,
Glad the surgery went well! Hope your daughter has a smooth recovery and is pain-free.
All the Best to her and to you! Hugs
