Dear Max.Shock results in the men’s semi-finals in US open Djokovic beaten by Nishikori(sp?) and Roger Federer beaten in 3 sets by Cilic!!!The Japanese guy is only 5ft 10ins Tennis players (male and female)tend to be so tall these days.Should be a great final.I heard Djokovic didn’t cope very well with the heat in New York.Serena and Caroline must be on now.Free the Moose PU Beast and Street Cry.Sheena.
Max
Sheena. Pretty amazing tennis results. All the men’s top seeds are history. My neighbor is in mourning. He loves Roger. Alas, winners do not always finish first. The women’s final is Sunday. Let us know how Sea The Moon does tomorrow. I see that Moosie’s stablemate in Middleham Racing G Force took down Gordon Lord Byron. Has Monty left for Cheltenham yet?
Free the Moose! Beast, eat your food, not that you have to be reminded. Snake and Danny, lights out in your stalls.

Dear Zentastic Team:
Congrats to Vicar’s In Trouble and all who bet o him. Did you see the second place horse, Delcan’s Fast Cat paid 42.60 to place. Holy Moly. Congrats and great cappin’ to anyone, anywhere who had that bet. I chose an Exacta Box with Vicar and East Hall. Back to the drawing board. Love and Hugs, JB

Oops: That should be Declan’s Fast Cat. Sorry. Love and Hugs, JB
Sandy (Northeast Ohio)
Can’t wait to see if anyone landed on the “Fast Cat” – what a payoff. I sure tanked this week. Jessica’s Star wasn’t very bright – after 7 straight win or place finishes :-( Really wanted to see a horse who had done well in Ohio show up on the national stage.
Congrats to Vicar’s in Trouble – he blew them away.

Hi Peggy
I thought Chrome was in a race, haven’t been following his recovery. Thanks for bringing me up to speed and happy he had a great workout. Welcome back Chrome,we missed you.
Max
Yes,I am happy Three Chimneys takes their stallions out for a ride, esp with the rider they have chosen for horses like Flower Alley. It makes sense that after being in top condition they need exercise and it is good for their body and their mind.Frankel is so gentle, impressive for such a champion. Forgive my ignorance but who is Big D ?.I know I am going to feel foolish for asking.
Max
Debbie. Dynaformer. He was a very tiny horse.
As to Frankel, horses with his stellar winning record are innately aggressive and very high spirited. He was known to kick his stall walls when he was not happy or when he wanted something to do. He refused to be moved to any stall that he did not like. He routinely removed his blankets, so that he had to be watched during the night. His groom recently visited him at Bansted and Frankel tried to take a chunk out of him. All of his traits are typical of his pedigree with inbreeding to Northern Dancer.
Free the Moose! Beast, you better be asleep. Same for you, Snake and Danny.
Judy Berube From Rhode Island
Dear debbie s:
Answered your post on Flower Alley going to South Africa on Page 2. Love and Hugs, JB
debbie s.
got it,Dynaformer. Some horses are walked all the way through their career, some may not be handwalked much at all. Dynaformer is another great one I will learn about.
Love Frankel and wish him well -he will be in big demand!!!!
Judy B-thanks for the article again.
Goodnight, sweet dreams to you and Sheena and all Z fans
Judy Berube From Rhode Island
Dear debbie s:
Love and Hugs, JB
Max
Debbie. I think that Frankel and the others at Bansted may be hand walked because they are extremely valuable horses. They do not want to risk any accidents with horses of that calibre. Frankel currently has the world’s highest known stud fee. It cannot be said for certain because his father’s fee is private. At one time, Northern Dancer’s fee was $ 1 million with no guarantee. Breeders were lining up to pay it.
Free the Moose. Beast, Snake and Danny, good night.
Ann NC
ND stud fee was 25,000 when he stood at Chesapeake City in the 70s. What a steal!

Dear Max.Monty was still there early afternoon,I couldn’t see him leaving too late in the day.I was sad about Roger he’s always been a favourite of mine.My Frankel was a good boy!!!!Free the Moose !PU Beast.Sheena.
Max
Sheena. That description of Frankel is complimentary. Frankel is not just a good boy. He is a very good boy. He is however not a pony. Great horses like him all have strong personalities. Most of his ancestors were very intense. They don’t come more intense than Danzig or Northern Dancer.
Moose learn from Frankel and get moving.

Dear Max
Just got back on here tonight. Was going to look for the video of Chrome for you, but I see Sandy found it above. He was just wonderful. Just going like air across the track. It was live on TVG. He is just so awesome and he looked so good. All those beautiful Palm trees and seeing Chrome I was just in heaven. Nice treat today.
Max, Oh I have to tell you. Medal Count raced today also and although he didn’t win he just missed. Almost a photo finish. He looked really good. They were all commenting on That “He’s Back” He did really good. It was at Kentucky Downs. Dale Romans almost won with him in that one and He did win the final race there today. I think Dale is a really good trainer.
Max
Peggy. Saw that video. He looked very confident on the track. Nice chestnut coat with a beautiful tail. His vacation seems to have worked wonders.
Good news about Medal Count. Agree about Dale. Like him.

Dear Max:
Firstly I do agree that the magical Zenyatta is the perfect role model for my little girl (babies excluded – I’ve no inclination to be a Grannie). But unfortunately her temperament is a little closer to the Beast. Thurzel only had five starts (for a third highest placing). From her second start the problems arose. She would walk nicely to the parade ring, and then increasingly get on her toes, and rear, which is rather impressive at her tiny size. Once the jockey was legged up, she’d rear until the jockey was tossed off. Her worst day was the only one of her races I was unable to attend, at Kembla Grange, where she tossed Blake Shinn, one of the best jockeys in the country five times and had to be led to the starting gates by the trainer. Needless to say the stewards took notice. The strange thing was that she had no problems once loaded in the barrier. Something happened after her first trial and race to traumatise her, and lead to a lack of trust. She’s certainly not mean, if anything rather shy, but as I tell her, we’ve got the rest of our lives to get to know each other and for her to learn my love for her is unconditional and lasting. And trust has to be earned from such magnificent animals I believe. Zenyatta was so fortunate to always know that love, and that’s what my little girl is going to get for the rest of her days. Hugs KathyR
Judy Berube From Rhode Island
Dear Kathy R:
Lovely post. Thurzel is one lucky tiny girl. Love and Hugs, JB

Kathy R,
Sounds to me like you are the perfect owner for her, you understand how she thinks and she will learn to trust and love you. You are both very lucky to have found each other. hugs
Max
KathyR. Thurzel does sound like the Beast. You have a very interesting horse on your hands. Keep doing what you are doing. The trust will come. You might have to find out what she really likes as treats, and use them. She’ll come around although she may always have an edge. It’s good to be wild and free. And tiny.
Free the Moose. Beast, it’s day 70. Snake and Dan, enjoy Sunday.

So enjoying the tales of Thurzel.
She might have had an amazing race career if they had just waited until she was in
the gate to load the jockey. Wish she could tell us the story of what happened.
You are doing all the right things. It will be forward steps and then a few back.
Each forward will be more than before.
Keep sharing-want to hear the rest of the story.

I guess this is the place to post now so in honor of our Terry Crow, I offer this little joke. It’s not new, but it is very cute. (Sort of Vaudeville-like) Thanks to my Dog Calendar, it was on Friday’s page, entitled Funny Bones. Enjoy!
An owner and his dog were sitting in a movie theater. The dog’s eyes were glued to the screen: He barked at the villains, wagged his tail to cheer on the hero, and howled at all the jokes. Noticing the dog’s exuberance, an usher commented, “Wow, it’s amazing how much your dog enjoyed the movie!” The owner answered: “I can’t figure it out either — he hated the book!” ( BA-DUMP-BUMP!!!)
Hope everyone has a good sleep and a lovely tomorrow! Sweet dreams!

I just looked on the Dyfi and it was so sad.Monty was on the perch alone in the early-6ish-am and about ten minutes later he was looking up in the sky all over and I could hear a crow.Monty stretched his wings and flew off and went down low in the direction of the river.Either he is going for fish for himself or he is joining the geese I hear and flying south. The crow landed and is in the nest,I must say I like Deris calls much better.
Oh,this is so hard.Soon you will be rising,I am going to sleep now.Big hugs,Debbie

September 7 Cherokee Devotional
Hi everyone, I’m back! Missed all of you!
There are people missing in our lives. We don’t know who all of them are because some have never been there. But there are voids that we know should have been filled. Our feelings go out and there is no one to send them back. Is it our fault? Did we do something that kept the place behind us vacant? The thought is painful because many others do not have such voids. They take for granted that there is a place for every person they need and every person is in his place. But the thought may occur to us that if we have empty places, then there must be someone out there with a vacancy because we are not there. We are the missing person in someone else’s life. Do they a da du hi s to di, blame themselves because we are not there? They shouldn’t, nor should we.
I cannot think we are useless or Usen (God) would not have created us…for each tribe…he made a home…and placed whatever was best for the welfare of that tribe.

Dear Kathy.Welcome home!!Hope you all enjoyed your holidays! You have been missed. The osprey family have all but gone not sure about Monty he was on his perch at about 10.20am but someone saw him fly off a couple of hours ago so maybe??Deri finally had “lift-off” on September 4th and Gwynant left on august 31st.It’s been a wonderful season the silence is deafening!!Have you seen the new friends Marty’s got??there was a feature about him on buzzfeed and he can’t cancel Monday because he’s on cuteness overload!Fubu is well and seems to like his new vet as least he didn’t bite him!Lily of the “bucket list” passed away on the 3rd her last weeks were so happy.Mango arrived safely in NM on Friday and loves her new house what a long journey 1,827 miles in 2 days and now momma can’t find her Purdy dresses!!She’s got a new swing though.I visit Joey every day and see his “likes” rising I still can’t believe he’s really gone.Momma/Agent is back in work tomorrow.I am slightly disturbed we haven’t heard about a burial or cremation for him.I sent them an email about his passing and had a lovely reply. He will always be remembered and missed.Have a blessed Sabbath.Hugs to you,Kisses for Holly,Nikko and Sugar
Kathy
Dear Sheena,
We had a nice relaxing vacation. I did miss all my friends here, though. Enjoyed Hovis’s video. I always imagined his voice would sound a lot like Mr. Ed, though! lol It’s eerily quiet at the Dyfi now. Prayers that “our” little family makes it safely to the destination. Got a chuckle out of how best to display all of Marty’s bizness licenses. He’s one popular rat! Glad to see that Fubu is doing as well as he is. That was encouraging that his previous doctor approved of the new one. I was sad at the loss of Lily. Her mom loved he so. I know Lily knew how much she was cherished. Glad Mango arrived safely. Hope all those purdy dresses show up soon! I sure miss our Joey, too. You’re right…it’s unimaginable that he’s gone. He was bigger than life. That’s so nice you heard back from them! Have a blessed Sabbath. Hugs from me, kisses from Holly, Nikko and Sugar. Kathy.

Dear Max.I had a strange feeling STM was going to get beaten today, did’nt like the change of jockey.Talk is he’s only 90% fit.Everything is up in the air with Arc favourites getting beaten this year.Maybe it’s the turn of the Japanese??Poor Moosie all those birds waking him up in the mornings! The Moose must be freed!PU Beast.Sheena.
Max
Sheena. It’s a shame, but he’ll come back. Critics say that a long layoff may not have helped him. Jockeys seldom make the difference. Frankel did not have to depend on Queally to win. Roberto beat the Brigadier without Piggott, and with a US jockey who had never ridden in England. STM may have a better chance in the Arc if he’s not the favorite. If he gets Soumillon again, remember that Soumillon rode Orfevre twice into second in the Arc.
Free the Moose. Beast, 68 and 1/2 days. Snake and Dan, take it easy.
