New to the shop today is the limited edition Little Zen Pewter Figurine.

This “Little Zen” is an exquisitely detailed portrayal of the thoroughbred champion, Zenyatta sculpted by miniature specialist Maggie Bennett and painted by the acclaimed equine figurine painter Caroline Boydston. Their collaborative dancing depiction of the 2010 Horse of the Year is the culmination of countless hours of meticulous study and hand-work manifested in this unique and officially licensed fine art piece.

Zenyatta was renowned for her racing achievements as well as her physical conformation and the artists capture the essence of her muscular majesty in perfect miniature scale.

Golden finish.

Each piece in the collection is individually hand-cast from the finest quality lead-free pewter. From the arch in her neck through her powerful withers to the playful extension of her front leg, the mighty mare is detailed in exact precision. Upon the completion of casting, each miniature is painstakingly painted to recreate Zenyatta’s rich bay color enhanced by her distinctive facial stripe and two white socks. Boydston’s unique dimensional shading technique completes the intricate process.

For the most discerning collector, we offer the first 25 pieces in the edition in an elegant 18K gold-plated finish. This Golden version represents the ultimate in Zenyatta memorabilia.

Each figurine comes with its own engraved felt-bottomed pedestal as well as a numbered certificate card hand-signed by trainer John Shirreffs and his wife, racing manager Dottie Ingordo-Shirreffs, also known as the “Voice of Zenyatta” for the beloved on-line Diary.

Measures 2.5″ wide x 2″ tall. Limited to 250 total pieces in all, and available on a first-come basis with earliest orders receiving the lowest numbered certificates.

      WHOO HOOO. Shack ran the best since the
      Met Mile, in command all the way around. Great
      Ride by Jesus Castenon. Was skeptical of him running
      In one of these last two races and sad to see him
      Retire. Wish they would stay around longer !!!!
      Shack has given so many of us joy and fun, true grit
      And determination. First time I have seen him
      Rebreak in the stretch, he usually grinds it out.

    As one of the few who wanted this horse to have a chance at going out a winner, and as one who had the privilage of seeing him up close (v-e-r-y c-l-o-s-e!) at Breeder’s Cup, and seeing how fit and full of it he was/is – I am doing a big happy dance! Way to go, Shack!!! If I had mares, you’d date a few!

      Lucky you, to witness that impressive show, Shack gave us in the paddock at the BC.
      Even seeing it on TV was wonderful. In person, I would have been gaga!
      I agree, if I had mares,they would be dating this handsome,big ole chestnut!
      I am over the moon w/ his win.

        So very true about “shack’s pre race performances”
        Every one in the Preakness said he was washed out
        And would not win, and that is actually how he says
        He is ready to go and he is on stage. People need to
        Know the horse, and what a horse he is. Will really miss
        Him. So glad you got to see him up close and “crowhoppin”
        At the BC, Diana.

          Love love love the slideshow of the Clark and
          Even a crowhoppin photo. I hope he is fertile
          And they treat him well at Darby Dan. You are right
          I think this race really showed a lot of improvement,
          When he rebroke at the end of the stretch. I guess
          With all his losses prior, too the Clark it is best to retire
          Him. He is picky about his surface ( OH OH that hurts
          My feet, or yuck that mud feels Terrible, can’t do any
          Good crow hoppin, I might slip!!!) and footing.

          Just love this boy and love the “sign” !!!!

        How very much fun for you, two to see
        Shack, crowhoppin’ !!!
        That groom was so small to be handeling him
        And to get on him like that is a huge amount
        Of jockey, courage.

        So amazes me how the jockey ‘s hop on without
        Touching the horse at all.

          It is a beautiful sight,watching the riders up.
          Growing up, our riding instructor would give a leg up. It was so powerful,we would fly right over the horse sometimes. Mr. Whitney was use to the jockey leg up and forgot to tone it down for us little kids.
          Once up, he would switch any and all hands holding on to the saddle!
          Now days this would be reported….oh I loved that man!
          Friday’s, Mr. Whitney treated everyone to ice cream,chocolate chip, nothing else. He was firm but a puppy dog on the inside.

          Wish you could have heard the moans and groans during the “legs up” at our fun show last weekend. The horses standing still and the girls laughing and moaning….help and then some flying leaps,wow! Cute,cute.

          Love the “legs up”, too. Started at a new barn a couple of years ago
          and after getting back to riding for 4 or 5 years, the trainer there said I did not know how to mount the horse. There were many of us experienced
          folks in the same situation.

          Well she had this huge mounting block and for
          some reason I would graze the rear end of the horses sometimes. Well Vinny the 6 year old, Jumper, just took off like a bullet when I did that and I was half way on, he was soooo fast that I fell off on my back and just was cracking up.

          I personally think there was something wrong with the height of the mounting block, guess I needed to blame it on anything or one buy me.

          I bet is TOO CUTE watching the young girls, they are sooo fearless.
          So you teach riding?

    OMG Zenyatta, Love the little figurine of you. I want you to know I have been trying to decide all day which one I wanted. Like the Kennedy’s said get one of each.
    But, I finally decided on the Gold. I think they said there were fewer of them, so I wanted to be sure and get one. Gold is about my favorite color, it is gorgeous. I love it and I love you. I am going to put you on my desk at work. Then I can see you all day.
    I don’t like having a whole lot of stuff, and this is little and perfect. Thank you Team Z.
    Oh my, though love the other one too, Might have to get it for home. Hint Hint Santa Claus Love Ya Z

    Cigar Mile for tomorrow can you believe all these great horses in there. And, its Stay thirsty’s last race.
    Stay Thirsty, Associate, Buffum, Jersey Town, Hymn Book, Coil, Groupie Doll.
    These are some greats. I would say watch out for several of these. Jersey Town????
    I do so love Groupie Doll, but just have to root for Coil this time.

      Cigar Mile gosh is going to be great. How can you not root for Stay Thirsty too.
      Wonder why Johnny V. is not riding him. I think if I’m not wrong he is riding Associate.

          I just looked at that schedule. They have posted that all wrong.
          The Gold Cup goes off at 340pm Japan time on Sunday Nov 25. Therefore Japan being l3 hours ahead of the East Coast of the United Sates. I believe it will be 2.40am our east coast time early Sun morning here.
          I heard them on air on TVG say that there coverage of the Japan Races would begin at l030pm. Unless they have changed this I don’t know, but the race does go off at 3.40pm Japan.
          I am going to start watching at Midnight . I believe Max said that would be a safe bet for time.

          11:30 pm there now and 8:30 am Houston, so
          15 hours difference with central time.

          Trying to get this time difference between Japan and the US clearer.
          The below link is the current date and time in Japan so just open it
          up around the time of the race and you will know. Trying to calculate
          is too confusing. It is 11:47 pm Saturday, November 24, 2012 and 8:47 am Saturday, November 24, 2012 central time in Houston, 15 hours difference
          from Central time.

      That was a good article. i am still worried about that Post Position for Orfevre, but I am hoping so hard that he can overrcome it. I’m just worried about that race. But, I am going to think positive and pray real hard for him and all to run good races. GO Orfevre, know you can do it……………………………………

        Dear Ann,
        I really love Zagora, Chad Brown did an exceptional
        Job with her. He is a very talented kind horseman
        And trainer. If I had a race horse, I would send him/ her
        To Chad or Graham Motion. Chad actually has a
        College degree. Oh and if I wanted to spend a lot
        Of time on the Westcoast it would be with Zenny’s
        John, he is sooo good with the leggy girls. They are
        Saying “E” has longer legs than Zenny !!!

        I collected $$$ on only two horses at the BC – Zagora was one of them! She was great! I might have done a little better had Questing not run into problems :-(

      And just pulling away, kind of like Invasor and baby
      Bernardini in the BCC. TCI will definitely show his
      Daddy proud next year and he already has a stud

    Ok, my Z friends, I must ask your opinions. I saw recent pictures of I’ll Have Another on facebook. Some comments say he looks fit and healthy, some say he looks thin and dull. I think in some he looks happy and in others he looks sad and homesick. What do you all think? I just love this horse so much, I want him to be happy and healthy, but I am not sure what I am seeing? Opinions please.

      I think he is getting used to his first Winter, being
      From sunny California. I am sure it is a big adjustment
      To live in the cold weather and have to dig for
      Your grass. He likes to lay his head on the fence, too,
      Cute. And to run in the snow also takes some getting
      Used to. He is probably wondering why it is so cold
      And slippery !!! Keep us posted on new photos.

        Ok, Sign, I repect your opinion. So, you think he looks happy? I want to be a realist and not a sentamentalist about him. Like I said before, I love this horse and have for a long time. I want to beleive he is happy, but dont want to just be a dreamer either. I know you know alot about horses, do you think he looks too thin? Trust me, I am not trying to stir up a hornets nest or anything, I am just really not sure what I am seeing.

          i think he looks extremely happy….obviously he feels great…running and prancing and dancing….someone described his “dance” move as a “funky chicken”…..looks like an expression of joy to me…he is so gorgeous…and i really like that the BigRedFarm is keeping everyone updated with photos …i think he is winning hearts over there too

          So very much appreciate your honesty, so many people see things (dream) in horses that are not there, and pretend they are running for joy,
          when really it can be out of desperation as they know nothing different.

          This situation is not the case with IHA, it is sooo very important to know
          what your horse is saying and not pretend that everything is right.

          If they are not doing well, do something about it and if they are doing
          well PUT A SMILE ON YOUR FACE LIKE JOHN SHERRIFF’S WHEN “E” WON.

          Please do keep us up to date, I will check his facebook page as well.

          He may be a little thin, it is hard to tell as the angles of the photos.

          In the winter they need to eat more to keep metabolism up to deal with growing a coat and the colder weather and he has to ” dig” for his food
          through the ice and snow so he may be learning that.

          Remember the video of Zenny digging for the grass when it was snowing in KY and then she gave it up and went over to PQ who already had a hole dug to eat.

          They will keep an eye on him, but very good observation.

          Maybe w/ his age, his gusto, he is able to stay lean and sweet!
          I would like to see him a bit more meat on those ribs….I do not like the rib look. Give that boy some sweet feed,please.

      I am worried about him too. Have been from the Get-Go. I was worried if he would acclamate to it over there. All horses are different, feelings etc. Maybe it’s too early to tell yet. Could be just a food issue. I was just worried once he has been there for a while. How does he feel about not coming home. I’m with ya on the worry issue. I have told this before, When I was a teenager we boarded this Welch pony rebel, my other pony and I fell in love with him. Misty and Rebel I would call Girlfriend and boy freind. They were always together. Rebel was a gelding but these two were always. inseperableLong story short, Rebels owners moved and took him with them. My Misty grieved and was devastated. (We did get to buy him back) so good ending.
      But my point Horses have feelings
      MY hope is that I’ll Have Another being as young as he is in time I hope he will acclamate to Japan. That is my hope for him. I do wish he could come back though.
      I do think they have to get him eating good.
      We will have to watch him carefully and his manerisms

        Very good comments, especially about the ponies.

        We definately need to plan a trip to the UK, I would love to see Kauto Star
        in the championship dressage arena and of course “the great one”, as Sheena says, Frankel.

        Jethro always had a girlfriend, but when they left he just moved on. We said he was “gay” for a few years when his best friend was a Gelding. However, when he
        retired, he made up for all those years, and found him the “hottest
        mare” in retirement – Piper. She was a huge riding prospect, but never
        really liked jumping for being ridden so the person what was training gave it
        up and she retired and ran everyone around, except Jethro. She loves him
        soo.

    Ok, Arkie Carol, Whew it is going to take awhile not to call you Utah Carol, LOL. Thank you for making me feel better. How is the weather in Arkansa today? It is very cold, windy and snow flurries flying here in Indiana this morning. Anyway, I have digressed. I just love these horses and wear them on my sleeve like a badge. My husband thinks I am totally “ate up” as he says.

      its in the fortys at night and has been around 70 during the day….suppose to have a cool snap for a couple of days….we are taking a “day off” today….no unpacking…just resting…

      thanksgiving dinner at the track was great fun…but did not get to see many horses…most of them will be arriving in 2-3 weeks for the live meet….because i am a resident of the county i can ask for a pass for the meet….this sure is going to help the budget….hubby says he will drop me at the door…and then look for parking…yeah …have not had a chance to do this for years…

      It is not silly, Darlene.
      IHA may just be the kind to be on the lean side.
      My daughter’s horse, Arab/Quarter was quite lean in her younger years and required a bit more custom blending of food.
      I am sure w/ time and some rest from his new job ( hub-a hub-a), maybe the weight issue will be different.
      You are #1 watcher for sure!!!!! Hope you have a great weekend too. Cold,cold,cold comin here.

      I have been following IHA on his facebook page as well.
      I think he has alot of adjusting to do yet. I remember when they paraded him under his tack at the Belmont and watching him as they took it off. He seemed lost and wondered
      what is going on here.
      I get the feeling that when he looks out over his paddock in Japan, that he is wondering when am I going to race again. Just my opinion and that is all.
      I think they still need to figure out the food mixture for him. There are some pictures]where he looks good and others he is thin.
      I miss him too.

      I just love IHA, too. Will definatley keep my eyes on his facebook page.
      Love your comment, Ann, (hubba – hubba), is he breeding yet.
      Maybe that testosterone will keep him muscled up, I agree with Janet’s comment, too.
      We saw him all muscled up in training form, may be he is a leaner built horse.

      He is truely our American Treasure and wish he would come home. I am not sure I will
      ever cheer for any Redham horses, I really love Groupie Doll, buy RAJID is not someone
      I really care for. OH WELL !!!
