Dear BGG.Great to see Kauto back to his “normal self”!!I’d love to see him in the King George again and he’d win too!!!!Merry Christmas to you and Kauto.Love and hugs Sheena.
Debbie S.
Dubai showed courage and determination, trust and love. He was sweet beyond measure and fought with every sinew of his body. May he rest in peace and run free as the wind. May Z Princess also run with her Grandfather and Tasty and Dubai and Sir and all the horses who have gone before. I will always remember her beauty and zest for life. Though we wanted her to stay,it is a comfort that she was happy and well cared for during her short time here.
Life is fragile and beautiful, heartbreaking and joyous.May we seize the moment and bring in the New Year with love and peace, and always fight for what we believe in and guard and protect our equine/animal friends.
Wishing Zenyatta,Coz and Ziconic and all the Z family a Merry Christmas.

Merry Christmas everyone! I’m leaving today to spend a few days in Pacific Grove. I’ll be home again on Saturday. Here are the Devotionals for today through Saturday.
December 24
All that has been a part of the important past is a part of this more important present. We are bits and pieces of who we were yesterday and all the many yesterdays-and we are stronger persons with new eyes and new heats. This is the day for which all preparations have been made. It dawned like any other day-but it came bearing gifts. This is the turning point, the place where we begin to see over the hill and around the bend. A new path comes into view and there is no longer a need to look over the shoulder. What might have been cannot govern or grieve us. Better, happier and more joy-filled times are, the Cherokee says, e gi ni yo ha: they are looking for us. And they have found us.
The reason Wakan Tanka does not make two birds…or two human beings exactly alike is because each is placed here…to be an independent individual to rely on himself.

December 25
Each of us have known kindred souls. They are those special persons who understand exactly how we feel and what we think and need. They seldom talk about it. Such relationships have no need for discussion. Their quiet companionship is balm to the spirit and enough without words. Wherever we are, we meet these special people who have known loneliness and have heard the empty echoes but have not let them spoil anything. They are what the Cherokee calls, a ga-li s gv ti tia. They are on the sunny side. Now they mark the way for us, telling us that life is good and we are going to do well-and what we really need to hear, we are not alone. Then, we can reach back and take someone else’s hand to lead them across the lonely places.
The monitor within my breast has taught me the will of the Great Spirit…

December 26
There is always a way. Solutions will not come when we are hanging onto the problem for dear life. When we back away and get a better perspective, the chances are good for more than one solution-we can choose. We are known for insisting on the wrong answer-believing the way we see it is the only way. But if something knocks our hand loose from its clinched position, ideas can flow out like water from a hose. When we cease to heave and sigh and begin to let our imagination work, it can reach into areas that our ordinary knowledge doesn’t have. It should be an act of anticipation-a great expectation that the Great Spirit is putting the answer where we can find it this very moment.
You sent for us; we came…
Tall Bull
December 27
Who is to say what is holy? The Tsalagi (Cherokee), believes that whatever the Great Spirit made is holy. A mountain, a tree, the whispering stream is holy. So much has been lost in the translation that we are inclined to pick apart what another thinks is holy and good. Our limitless connection to all that is holy can give us a great comprehension of peace and health and all that is needed. If we follow the much-trodden path, believing that to be holy we must be poverty-stricken, downcast, and victims of an angry God, we are fooled. The idea that we can earn our way overburdens us. When we put it all down and turn toward the Light, sweet grace is poured upon us.
The Great Spirit bade him (Pontiac) to be seated: I am the Maker of heaven and earth, the trees, lakes, rivers, and all things else. I am the Maker of mankind; and because I love you, you must do my will.

Merry Christmas and Happy Hannukkah to all of the Z nation.
Just wanted to give you a heads up that the Bloodhorse magazine has a beautiful listing of all of the racing horses and humans who have passed in 2014. I did not expect it when the Z Princess was included at the end of the alphabetical list. It was like a punch in the gut. But it was also bittersweet to see the beautiful picture of her running in the field. She would have been amazing. They also included Street Cry.
Just so you are not surprised. We can all celebrate that they were with us for a while and forever in our hearts.

Dear Judy,
Thank you for the posts today. Loved those links. So exciting looking forward to a new baby Zenyatta in 2016. Also saw a link somewhere about Rachel Alexandra’s & Zenny’s Ziconic (am racing thru posts today – I think it was Ziconic and not CoZ racing anyway – will check that later today) racing very soon – in separate races. I saw that in a link from one of your links, I think. Merry Christmas and many of God’s blessings in the new year.

Christmastime Thoughts
(December 25, 2014)
When I was young
And in the North did dwell,
Wintertime was fun,
And the cold did not our spirits quell.
In the holiday season,
Though the temperature was freezin’,
We children found that swell.
Come the yuletide,
We reveled in the wintry countryside,
And gorgeous snow was always our hope.
When those sparkly diamonds the fields bedecked,
We happily would trek
To a gentle slope
Where we our sleds could ride,
Or an icy pond seek
O’er which we could glide.
Of soft, deep powder
We were fond,
’Cuz lying thereupon
We our arms and legs could fan
Snow angels to create
Of which we couldn’t be prouder.
But should the snow be wetter,
Then that was all the better
A fine snowman
To design.
With mittened hands
We’d pat him into shape,
And then his neck
With a checkered scarf drape.
Upon returning
From our fun,
Each cheek with the cold rosy and burning
And our feet growing numb,
It was a sweet pleasure
To be all warm and cozy
Inside our tidy home.
These memories I treasure
No matter where I roam,
But no longer do I in the North reside,
Nor would I find today,
When my hair is turning gray,
The cold so easy to abide.
For all the folks
Who still with the cold must cope,
It is my fervent hope
That on frigid days
A lot of snow does not
Onto your walkways blow
Or pile up in your drive,
And that, land sakes alive,
The streets
Not be icy
Or slick with sleet,
States we all dread
For then driving is dicey.
I pray instead
That Santa Claus
May bring you welcome thaws.
Let me now finish
With a warm Christmas wish
For friends both near and far.
As you gaze upward to the stars
And contemplate the Great Beyond,
May your wonder never cease.
May your heart with Life closely bond,
May your love never be stilled,
And last but not least,
May your soul be always filled
With thankfulness and peace.
Merry Christmas and happy holidays to all! Love and hugZ, Trina
