Dear Sheena, Judy, neighbors Marshall, Ann
Hope I didn’t miss anyone. Thank You so much for the birthday wishes. Mom’s just been real sick since last year and I just haven’t been able to get in here very much.
She has gone to assisted living and the good news is that she likes it. I am so happy about that. Had a good birthday. Just got my birthday cake today. Just decided would like to have it for the weekend. My favorite. not traditional birthday cake but i just love it.
It’s called the Blueberry Birdsnest Cake AKA Blueberry Surprise Cake. It is awesome.
Wonder if any of you know it. Its the Duncan Hines Moist yellow cake mix. Cool Whip frosting. On top is blueberry pie filling within the Bordered Cake. It is awesome. So Moist.
I have a little news to share also. I am retiring on June 28, am looking so forward to it. I will miss everyone but it is time. A new chapter in my life Hope horses can play a bigger part in it.
I know we all miss Dottie here for so many reasons, But Dottie if your reading
To Dottie and john I send you so much good luck for tomorrow for Paradise Woods
She is just a Wow. They were talking about her today on HRRN. Hope so hard she wins. They were saying they just thought John was just going to let her go and do her own thing. She is terrific. So hope Santa Anita is OK. So much good luck wishes and prayers sent your way
Another favorite of mine is racing too this weekend at Churchill. Morticia, I love you.
How dare they put you in the 9th race tomorrow night with the boys. They all say you are going to be scratched and go Sunday. OK now, I got to figure out why did they put you for Saturday night in the first place. LOL
Everyone, love you all very much. Will try to get here more often
Dear Peggy.Good to see a post from you and you sound like you’re having a lovely cake to celebrate.Welcome to the world of Retirees.Good to hear your mother has happily settled down.It must be a huge relief for you.Hope to see you here more often.Love and hugs
Dear Sheena,
Thank You again for the Birthday Wishes
Mom does seem real happy. She still has some very serious medical conditions.
But so Thankful for every day she is here.
Will hopefully see you all here more often.
Peggy,
A belated joyous birthday to you. Am not familiar with your cake but it sounds good. Happy retirement. It takes a while to adjust but sleeping in is great!
I think John just has the magic touch when it comes to fillies and mares. Safe trips to Paradise Woods and Morticia.
Glad your mom is happy in her new place. Several woman I know from church have made the decision to go into senior or assisted living and are loving it.
Hi Shirlee,
Thank You so much for the Birthday Wishes. Have sure missed talking to you all.
OK who’s your favorite for the Belmont. After everything happened with Maximum Security have just almost lost interest. He was my favorite. But if Master Fencer goes think he will be my favorite.
I am so excited about the girls going this weekend. Just love Paradise and her family especially Dixieland Band. Met him at Lanes End before he passed.
Think she’s going to be flying later this afternoon so Mikey hold on.
And, Morticia she is just the bomb. Just love her. She puts her heart and soul into every race she goes in. I think she always gives 100%
I do hope they scratch her from tonight’s race. And let her go tomorrow. Two handicappers I was listening to yesterday both thought she will be scratched from tonight. Don’t know if its because she’s a filly in with the boys or what. Have to check more on this. Sure wish I could see these races in person.
Sorry for second post but I wanted to tell you all about a post I saw on Face Book. At Donnabrothers.com there is news about a new kind of whip that all the famous jockeys are using that is supposed to be kinder to the horses. It is called 360 GT. Don’t know if anyone else has read about it.
Sorry I can’t post it but as you all know, I am a computer dummy.
Glad to hear about this new whip now being used in the US as it has been in Europe. Hopefully, it still won’t be overused and will be better for the horses.
Dear Judy, My Dear Friend
Thank You so much for the Butter Cookies you sent me. You know they are my absolute favorite. Oh My Gosh Delicious. They were gone right after I got them.
OK your so good about knowing things about racing. Why do you think they are all saying Morticia they think will be scratched tonight.
Hope to talk to you all here more often
Thank You again for the nice Birthday Wishes
You’re so welcome. Morticia has been scratched by her trainer out of the 9th race at Churchill today. She is entered in the 9th race tomorrow; fillies and mares Allowance.
I think sometimes they just look at the condition book and enter to fill the card; then another race pops up that’s more suited, so they enter that and scratch out of one of the races. Just guessing.
Will be wonderful to have more posts from you, Love and Hugs, JB
It just had to be Galileo and Aidan did’nt it?Anthony Van Dyck wins the Epsom Derby in a very close finish.A 7th for the master of Ballydoyle. So pleased for Seamus Hefferman his first win in the race. And remembering Galileo’s mum Urban Sea too. Royal Ascot next!

Thanks for posting the replay, Judy. Paradise Woods made an amazing effort!
Congrats to her and Mike for placing, and Congrats to La Force and connections on the win.
Judy,
Thanks for the post of Paradise Woods’ race. She and Mike did well. Hope she was not hurt.
Still thinking about a Belmont pick. Sure wish Omaha Beach was in.
It has stopped raining in Indy for several days but more rain and storms forecast for Wed. on. It is so wet the farmers have not been able to get their crops in.
Shirlee, hope the weather improves there. I haven’t made a pick for the Belmont either. Wish OB and Max were in it. Hope OB is recovering well. Love and Hugs, JB

I look at this blog, hoping to see some news about Zenyatta and her offspring. It is now a rare occasion to see news about any of them. I’m sad about that.
On this day in 2018 Denman aka ‘The Tank’ joined his old friend and stablemate Kauto Star in equine Heaven. He was 18yrs old.I will always remember his amazing weight carrying performances especially coming back after his heart problems in the 2009 Hennessy.Run free now sweethearts no stable wall divides you anymore.RIPX
Her Majesty speaks for us all as she thanks all who paid the ultimate sacrifice on June 6th 1944 and in the months after as Allied Troops liberated Europe from the tyranny of the Nazis. We lost the best generation in those dark moments. There is no one to compare with these brave men and women who gave their lives so we could enjoy our freedoms today. In undying gratitude always.RIP

Who died upon that blood soaked sand where now sweet children play;
And those of you who were unborn, who’ve lived in liberty,
Remember those who made it so on the shores of Normandy.
Dear Judy.Hope all is well.Tegid is back at Glaslyn.Thank goodness it was dry for the bobs today and they have been well fed.It promises very wet and windy on Friday more’s the pity.Goodnight God bless you LM PC HT and all the sweeties.Love and hugs SheenaX
