Jaime Corum’s newest release, Zenyatta: “Breeders’ Cup Gold,” captures the Queen in all her regal splendor amidst the scenic backdrop of the palm trees and awe-inspiring mountains of Santa Anita Park.
Perfectly titled, the piece captures Zenyatta in golden-toned hues reminiscent of the elegant and expressive style of the old masters. The wistful and poignant composition conjures afresh the memories of the great racemare and her thrilling 2009 victory in the Breeder’s Cup Classic at the historic California racetrack.
Presented in the statuesque pose familiar to all her fans, Zenyatta is featured looking back over her shoulder, evoking both her kind and inquisitive demeanor. Corum’s deft palette adroitly highlights every detail of the popular champion amidst the soft backdrop of the sun-soaked San Gabriel mountains, subtly summoning forth the majesty of her subject and surroundings. From her regal eye to her luminous rich mahogany coat, Zenyatta is meticulously portrayed, right down to the details of her racing tack and distinctive saddlecloth.
For the racing collector, Zenyatta: “Breeders’ Cup Gold” is also available in a gold foil-stamped limited edition signed by jockey Mike Smith, trainer John Shirreffs, and racing manager Dottie Ingordo-Shirreffs. Measures 22″ x 28″ and printed on the finest archival stock.
A natural companion piece to the artist’s 2011 popular print release “The Queen’s Dance,” and a great holiday gift for family, friends, and Zenyatta fans. Order yours now!

Horse Racing: 2012 Delta Downs Jackpot Million Preview; Zenyatta’s Sister Debuts
November 16, 2012 By Gerard Apadula
I know it’s not even Thanksgiving yet but is it ever too early to start talking Kentucky Derby? Not to me it isn’t. This weekend’s Horse Racing Race of the Week is the 2012 Delta Downs Jackpot Million for two year olds at Delta Downs in Vinton, Louisiana. Albeit 2012 Breeders Cup Juvenile Sprint winner Hightail is entered, he is only the fourth morning line betting choice.
A field of nine will go postward in the mile and a sixteenth event which, to me, is the first real Kentucky Derby prep race, even though it’s run six months ahead of time and the last four winners (Big Drama, Rule, Gourmet Dinner and Sabercat) had no real impact on the Kentucky Derby in their respective years

OMG OMG! I am still crying! A dream come true! My heart is smiling BIG TIME!! Eblouissant’s race today was so thrilling – we screamed our hearts out! E Backsiders were invited into the winners circle by Mr. Kronfeld – hope you got to see us and our tears streaming down our faces! What magic – I got a hug from Dottie, John, and a peck on the cheek and hug from Mr. Kronfeld! John was just over the moon! He even led Ebby into the winners circle!!! I know!!!! LOL!! She looked magnificent and so proud of herself. Only thing that was surprising were the blinkers! Mario said it was because she needs to focus more. (A few of us went back to the barn to see her after the race, but she was still in detention barn.) I am so happy for Barn 55 and her connections! Lets hope she continues on this winning path. And the thrill of watching her coming around the first turn, I could have sworn that it was Zenny at the back of the pack, looking at her huge rear!! LOL! She looks so much like her big sister in a race. Congratulations Ebby and John! Ebby’s fans are so proud of her and you! Thank you, Thank you for this second time around lifetime experience that you have so generously allowed Ebby’s fans to enjoy!!!!! What a glorious joyful filled day!!! Thank you Ebby!!! Love <3 you Princess!

Karen,
I saw you and the Dumplings and the tears and the winner’s circle.
What an incredible day you had!
One of the replays I posted focused on the race.
The other had coverage of the post-race.
Ebby was so professional–hard to believe this was her Maiden race.
Can’t begin to imagine how John must feel!
Hugs,
Keta

Thank you Keta. It was incredible! I am waiting to hear from the Kennedys and JAG … they stayed at Barn 55 to wait for Ebby to come back from detention. I had to get home for my daughter’s bus or I would have stuck it out there too! I wish you all could have been on track today – what a wonderful win for her! I don’t know what John must be feeling, but if it is anything like I feel, it must be three times as much! He looked ecstatic – just beaming – as all the connections did! What a trainer! You Da Man John!!! :)))) YAY!!!
Barbara Wood (Texas)
Karen, I could hear you!! I was screaming too! (The dogs were alarmed until I explained to them!) It was just too cute for words. She was running just like Z herself.

Dear Karen,
Thanks so much for representing all of us with
All of the Dumplings. How very thoughtful of Mr.
Kronfeld to have invited you all to the winners circle.
I am sure she is very proud of herself. Thought she
Might be having a hard time focusing. What a doll in
Her blinkers, she sure was focused, with her ears back
And game face on !!! John really has such a knack
For training big leggy fillies, with Big A as Steve would
Say. Sooo glad you all had a wonderful time and have
Had the opportunity to get to know “E” as she has
Grown up over this little over a years time.
XXXOOO

Dear Z dumplings and Zenny Fans,
What a wonderful quote by John Sherriffs after “E”‘s race:
“Following the race, Shirreffs told TVG that Eblouissante reminded him so much of Zenyatta it was as if part of the great mare were still there.”
Zenyatta’s Sister Eblouissante Wins Debut

Eblouissante delivers in her first start at Betfair Hollywood Park.
Racing fans had better start learning how to pronounce the name Eblouissante, as the 3-year-old daughter of Bernardini did her best impression of her big sister Zenyatta, sweeping to the lead and drawing off to an easy 4 1/4-length victory in her long-awaited career debut at Betfair Hollywood Park Nov. 16 (VIDEO).
Trained by John Shirreffs and owned by Eric Kronfeld, Eblouissante was sent off as the 7-5 favorite in the field of eight. After racing in sixth through the early part, she exploded on the far turn under Corey Nakatani, wore down the pacesetting Saturday Nite Ride, trained by Bob Baffert, in midstretch, and drew off with ease under left-handed urging, while showing off those same gargantuan strides that were Zenyatta’s trademark.
Chestnut Moon rallied to just get up for second over Saturday Nite Ride. Ironically, the fourth-place finisher, Belonging, is owned by Jerry and Ann Moss, the owners of Zenyatta. The final time for the 1 1/16 miles was 1:45.27.
Eblouissante had opened at 3-5, then steadily climbed to 4-5, even-money, and 6-5 before closing at 7-5.
The emotion-packed crowd, many of whom had lined up outside the paddock early to take pictures of Zenyatta’s half sister, gave Eblouissante a rousing ovation as she was led in by Shirreffs after the race.
Kronfeld bred Zenyatta and Eblouissante under the name Maverick Productions and sold the dam, Vertigineux, by Kris S., privately in 2009.
Shirreffs, as he did with Zenyatta, took his time with the towering near-black filly, giving her 45 works before finally starting her at almost the same time he debuted Zenyatta, who made her first start on Nov. 22 of her 3-year-old year.
Following the race, Shirreffs told TVG that Eblouissante reminded him so much of Zenyatta it was as if part of the great mare were still there.
Zenyatta, by Street Cry , was named Horse of the Year in 2010. She produced her first foal, a Bernardini colt, in March.
