Hello fans,
It’s the beginning of an exciting month on Zenyatta.com! We’re in the midst of preparations for our third annual Zenyatta.com Celebration. Mark your calendars for Breeders’ Cup Weekend. Details will be announced throughout the month.
Leading up to this event we’ll be remembering important dates in Zenyatta’s career. The first is October 2, 2010. Five years ago today Zenyatta scored her 19th consecutive win with her victory in the Lady’s Secret Stakes at Hollywood Park. Watch the race again here and head over to the career section for more details about this milestone in Zenyatta’s life.
Enjoy!

I watched this again……not sure why but I get so excited even though I know she is going to win. I get goosebumps and a tear or two. She is and was so beautiful….so exciting. I am so glad we still get to see her and know all that is happening with the Queen….the beautiful wonderful awesome Zenyatta.

Mary, I reacted the same way you know she’s going to win but here I am on the edge of my seat! What a team she and Mike were. I just love Zenyatta can’t wait to see her new foal.

This is going to be a fun month! Zenyatta will always hold a special place in my heart. My father introduced me to horse racing when I was three months old and I’ve been an avid fan ever since. Zenyatta was the last horse that my dad and I got to enjoy together and when she won the Breeder’s Cup Classic, though my dad was not physically here, I know he was watching with me and my mom from above. Thanks Team Z for allowing all of us fans to remain connected to Zenyatta!! Your generosity means a lot to me.
Hugs to all,
Leslie

Dear Leslie, Loved reading your comments about Zenny and your Dad. Zenyatta helped make some wonderful memories for my Dad and me also. My Grandfather (my Dad’s Dad) was a horse vet and farrier in Louisiana, and started racing his horses in the late 1800’s and 1st part of 1900’s in ‘walk ups’ (where the horses just walked up all together on a grass field to form a line, then someone shot a pistol in the air, and the horses ‘were off’). When Zenny started racing, my Dad and I watched all of her races together. That was a very special time for the two of us. Pray many of God’s blessings for you. with love, Elizabeth
Leslie R.
Dear Elizabeth, thank you! I’m happy to hear that you and your dad were also able to enjoy Zenyatta together. They really were special times and those memories are priceless. I think we are both very fortunate that we got to share such a special being with our dads. Love, Leslie

I will always believe Zenyatta won 20 races not 19.I can never forget how she ran her heart out in the 2010 Breeders cup.It took me about 3 years before I could really watch the race and marvel at her tenacity..This month also sees a sad anniversary in our beloved mare’s life, the devastating loss of her PrinZess.A beautiful filly we always remember. We treasure the memory of her short life and now look forward to Zenyatta’s next foal. The circle of life.Love and hugs SheenaX

Brings Goose Bumps and tears of joy every time I watch this race – Woo-Hoo, Woop-Woop, cheerleader pom-poms and all that! <3

Gosh, I think to myself, ok, I’ll watch another replay like dozens of times before, but this time no tears since it was years ago. Two tissues later as I type, so humbled to admit how wrong I was. We were not always sure when she and Mikey would make that famous move and slam into endless gears. Thanks Team Z for setting the tone for BC Z Celebration! Love you!
Susan
What a horse!!!! Couldn’t keep from cheering her on – again!

5 years has gone by so fast.
It is special to relive those glory days.
And, who doesn’t love a Celebration?
Another great weekend of racing!
May all have safe rides!

I was there. My sister and I went. She knows nothing about horse racing but totally fell in love with Zenyatta.

Oh she is just so perfect!
I’d about given up on racing but she won my heart.

The excitement, chills, a tear or more always happens to me whenever I watch any of her races. The thrill is felt each and ever time. Z and Mike made a team that came close to perfection.
How wonderful it is to be allowed to share in the lives of her and her family.
Team Z you are the Best.
Mary
Whew! That race was a scary one for me. It still scares me to watch it, even though I know she won.
Thank you for sharing.
Maybe you could schedule a Zenyatta celebration for another time of year when some fans, who aren’t able to attend a big race like the Breeder’s Cup, could attend? Thank you for any thoughts into this.
Mary
oh, yes, any info, more often, and photos of Zenyatta’s boys would be appreciated.
thank you
Sandy (Northeast Ohio)
Lately, the Zenyatta “celebrations” have been here on the blog so you need to stay tuned. They are actually the most difficult for those who attend the BC without smart phones or reliable WiFi access (and I speak from experience).

❤ One of the most magical days ever. I cannot even think of it five years later without the most profound feelings. I am so grateful to have been there. ❤

Zenny, I was screaming, crying and pulling my hair as I watched this race again. Oh, how you caused my heart to race…I sure miss you on the track but am happy you live the good life at LE. Thanks for a precious memory, Team Z.

I just love this mare.

5 years ago today was the first time I saw Zenyatta’s in the flesh. My life has never been the same.
This summer I got to visit to Lanes End. Because of the layout of the farm you get a feel for where’s she living just driving the back roads of Lexington. NO SHE IS NOT WITHIN SIGHT OF ANY HIGHWAY. You simply feel it.
I saw Curlin. And they brought Union Rags out. I saw AP Indy in his stall.
Zenyatta is happy where she is. She’s happy when her humans come to visit. But she’s happy being fed mints. That leaves me feeling damn good, I don’t worry day to day for her. She has the VERY BEST of care.
And in a few months she’ll have another little one to love on. And oh yes, I did see War Front. Lord that horse is even more handsome in real life than pictures show. I hope this little one is another cute little girl for all of us to gush over.
