Dear Kathy. We have refreshing breezes over here today.Another very late night watching Djokovic getting beaten by Del Potro(sp)Not a good idea to watch exciting matches at 3am!The Williams sisters are out and the Murray brothers but Andy is still in the singles I didn’t know Roger Federer is out for the season.Hopes to be back well and strong next year.We got our 1st medals!Michael Phelps won his 19th Olympic gold wow!I really need to turtle today. The X country is on now not a good start for us.
Happy international cat day I heard about it on Larry’s twitter.nearly 91000 followers now and Felix is heading for 80000 FB “likes”A passenger started it last year with help from one of the staff there She has had a lot more gifts plus Mango had a lot of presents too.Tegid is busy eating his lunch 23 fish caught last week by Monty and Glesni.A gorgeous video of Aran(Glaslyn) feeding his daughter W7 in the nest.Have you heard Princess Beatrice has broken up with Dave Clark after 10yrs together.Fergie is very upset. We all expected them to marry.Beatrice is 28 today.Lovely videos of the poms and Kiara is getting so much better. She had those horrific burns.Remember to turtle.Have a great day.Love and hugs to you,Kisses for Angel Holly,Nikko and Sugar.SheenaXOXO

Dear Sheena,
You’re a trooper staying up late watching the games. The emotions run a roller coaster ride. Shocking Serena and Venus are out. Just goes to show the Games are a whole different level! Happy International Cat Day to you as well. I started following Ziggy on FB. Not a lot of news but is he ever a gorgeous cat! Congrats Larry and Felix! Glad Mango has more gifts. Glad to hear Tegid continues to do well. Will look for the video of Aran feeding W7. I did read of the breakup. 10 years is a long time! Will always remember Princess Beatrice’s birthday…8/8/88. Yes, the pom videos are fabulous. So glad Kiara is better. I will indeed do a lot of turtling today. You have a great day as well. Love and hugs from me, kisses from Angel Holly, Nikko and Sugar. Does anyone know when Ziconic and Cozmic One will race again?

You can go to DRF.com and register free for notices of entries for particular horses to be emailed to you also. Love and Hugs, JB

Dear Sheena: thank you so much for the response sorry I took so long to thank you, I’ve been away from the site and just able to check in today I’ve never live streamed anything so I’m hoping to catch the ceremony. Can’t get enough of racing’s Queen!
sheena.davies(wales)
Dear Rosemary. My pleasure.I know you will enjoy the ceremony.Hugs Sheena

Just watching Crosscountry on Olympics. Interesting discussion on the ‘airbags’ the riders wore. Is it at all possible for race jockeys to wear them or would they add too much weight for the horse to carry. They seemed to work.

Dear Sheena.
Beyond tragic – just heartbreaking. So very, very sorry he suffered. RIP Gold Fun.

Marshall (NC Broad)
The CrossCountry was really exciting; although, many times my heart was in my throat! There were a few scary spills which were horrible to see, but everyone left the course on their feet so I hope there is no residual harm done. Unfortunately, Lauren Kieffer and Veronica sustained a fall so they were eliminated from the event. Hope they are both okay. The cross country course was extremely challenging — very tricky.
William Fox-Pitt on Chilli Morning had a clean ride in progress only to have a miss late in the course so he will not achieve the individual gold medal he so wanted. Tough break.
Phillip Dutton on Mighty Nice and Boyd Martin on Blackfoot Mystery finished in 5th and 6th for USA, I think. They incurred only time faults with clean rides.
I will be watching again tomorrow morning on USA — jumping is next.
Cheers to all horses and riders!
Good Luck to All in the remaining competitions — safe and sound, too.
Max
This is just great news for Dutton and Martin. So proud especially of that wonderful chestnut and Boyd. That horse has class and courage.
Max
Here’s an article about them.
http://uset.org/dutton-martin-advance-show-jumping-top-10-positions/
Marshall (NC Broad)
Max,
Thanks a bunch for this article! Yes, Blackfoot Mystery is a beautiful member of the Chestnut Club and very talented TB indeed.
I think Mighty Nice is called Happy. I did not realize that he isn’t a TB so he really did do well to keep the time faults so low. Dutton was very happy with Happy.
Hugs
Max
I’m really happy too for both of them! Blackfoot Mystery is 17 hands and is called Big Red or Red in the barn. Hoping that he channels some good results from his famous namesake.
sheena.davies(wales)
Dear Marshall.William had a good round except for that late blip.It would have been so wonderful for him to get an individual medal this year.Hugs Sheena
Marshall (NC Broad)
Yes it would have been nice and so well-deserved. It was that darned frog, wasn’t it? Almost home, too. I was pulling for them and the rest of the GB team, also.
Hugs and Love
sheena.davies(wales)
The Australians are in the lead both as a team and individually. Our old enemy the Germans are 4th.Everything could change with the showjumping. That William was able to take part was such a joy for his fans.Hugs Sheena
Marshall (NC Broad)
Oops! My mistake, it wasn’t the frog in the Fisherman’s Lake, but the Ski Jump. Both of these obstacles had 4 parts and the frog was the 4th part of the Fisherman’s Lake at #28 or 29, I think. The Ski Jump was downhill and was earlier, maybe around 19 or 20.
That frog caused problems for several riders and horses. William and Chilli Morning had no problem with that obstacle.
Goodnight!
Hugs and Love

It was very thrilling. All of them are so brave and fierce. Loved watching them take off. The mares are especially exciting…well, all of them are, boys included, So handsome.
Will be front and center tommorrow. How about that key hole jump! Incredible ride by Dutton, great riding all around!
Love to all. 17 hands…yikes, Zenny. Imagine flying over those jumps on a 17 hand horse, yikes! So brave.
Judy B from Rhode Island
Dear Ann:
I’m going to watch the video replay of today’s competition on nbcolympics.com.
Good to see you posting again. Missed you. Love and Hugs, JB
Judy B from Rhode Island
Dear Ann:
See what you mean about that Keyhole jump. Courageous horses and riders.
Hate seeing the falls. Hope all is well.
Love and Hugs, JB
Max
Red used to race at Hollywood Park. He might have seen Zenny when she was there. He wasn’t so good as a racehorse, but he’s found himself with Boyd Martin. He’s only been working with Boyd for a year and he made it to Rio. I’d say that he’s done more than enough already. Good job, Red. And Boyd.
Judy B from Rhode Island
Dear Max:
Very good job, indeed. Love and Hugs, JB
Marshall (NC Broad)
Wow, Red has learned all this in a year? I would say he is an A+ student — all 17 hands of him! He and Boyd make a great team.
Good luck to this pair and to Dutton on his mount, too.
Hugs
Judy B from Rhode Island
Dear Marshall and Max:
Thanks for the updates on Olympian Equine events. Have not had a chance to watch. Great job by Blackfoot and Boyd and Nice and Phillip. Tough for William and Chilli. Hope Veronica and Lauren are OK. Max, Blackfoot is a warrior. Godspeed to them; safe and sound. Love and Hugs, JB

Blackfoot Mystery is out of a stallion, Out of Place, born/raised and stood at stud at Claiborne Farm. He passed away in 2010 and is buried at the farm.
Max
Thought that you all might enjoy reading this article which is full of details about Red and even has a pic of my old friend, Neville Bardos. This story and Nev’s is proof positive that OTTBs can do almost anything and do it really well.

Dear Shirlee, Max and Z Fans:
Checked on Red’s pedigree and noted that his sire was from Claiborne Farm.
Max, TBs are underated and are proving how versatile they really are every day. The more people are aware of how talented they are in different venues, the more of them will be in demand when their racing careers are over. They so deserve a chance at a good life after racing. Love and Hugs, JB
Judy B from Rhode Island
Dear Max:
Thank you so much for this. Red’s a character; love him. (Reminds me of another Chestnut; horse of my heart). Love and Hugs, JB

JudyB. Zenyatta and Red could open a spa. He could handle the massage therapy, and she could do the hair styles.

Dear Team Z:
This is wonderful, wonderful news!! I am going to try to go. I was just up in Saratoga this past weekend, so I’ll have to try to work this all out so I can go on Friday.
Congratulations to Zenny and to Rachel, and to all their connections. We love you both. How exciting it was to see Rachel in the paddock on Kentucky Oaks day, and to see her again at my home track, Monmouth Park, as she raced in the Haskell. And to see Zenny at the Del Mar, her 18th race, in the Clement Hirsch. Thank you both for all those memories.
I had only been following horse racing since 2008. How lucky I was to have Zenny and Rachel come on the scene in 2009. Wow, how exciting it all was. You girls will never, ever be forgotten.
Congratulations again to everyone on this magnificent honor.
With so much love.

Lady Eli breezed 5 furlongs on the Oklahoma Turf Course at Saratoga Sunday and is right on target to run in the Ballston Spa Stakes. Chad Brown said that he is a fan of hers as well as being her trainer. After her work, Chad said that he doesn’t know if he’s ever seen her work as well as she did on Sunday.
Did anyone else notice Off The Tracks who ran 3rd in the Test Stakes on Saturday? She is the daughter of Curlin & Havre De Grace. I loved watching her mom race. Off The Tracks has been running well & has never been worse that 3rd in her stakes races. I think she won the Mother Goose earlier this year.
I am hoping to be at The Belles of The Hall Celebration this Friday & hope to meet any other Zenyatta fans who are able to go. It is wonderful of Team Z & Stonestreet to hold this event for Zenyatta’s & Rachel’s fans. I hope that team Z will make an appearance here after the induction ceremonies. Thank you Team Z & Stonestreet!

August 9 Cherokee Devotional
“It is better to be modest and earn a living than to be conceited and go hungry.” This proverb points out how foolish it is to have such a high opinion of ourselves that we won’t take an ordinary job in order to eat. Doing an honest day’s work-no matter what that work might be-is as good as gold. Think of all those who carry bedpans, those who sweep, and those who wash dogs-how kind and considerate they are. It is a joy to know them. Giving service is a spiritual law that cannot be bent, broken, or hidden. It works. Commit yourself to this spiritual law and you will never go hungry.
Show respect for all men but grovel to none.

Dear Kathy.Such wise words. We all depend on one another after all even Her Majesty has to get her rubbish collected!Someone tried to climb into Buckingham Palace this morning but the Queen is up in Balmoral. All go for Galileo Gold for sunday. The Dyfi thought Glesni had left yesterday she flew high over the Cambrian mountains but returned later with a stick! You should see the look of disgust on Tegid’s face when Monty brought in another stick instead of a fish. The conbenshun is still going well for Mr Fibbs and Mr Stubbs the cat who is the mayor of a small town in Alaska is running as well He is 19 now.I didn’t know there was a huge security alert when someone sent Larry some flowers at the time Mother Theresa became PM.I did get to bed a bit earlier last night and was up at 7.30am!!!Ziggy is waiting Joe back from Italy Land not much hope of a treat.Ty-Nant have raised nearly £20000 now and they plan to have a memorial for the dead cats.Barry Geraghty took his family to visit Moscow Flyer and Kicking King over the weekend. They have fabulous lives at the Irish stud.Mango is having visitors this week and going to be busy she had a lot of mail.We are supposed to be getting some more warm weather summer’s last hurrah.Prince Harry has disappeared off FB someone must have twigged it was a scam and there I was looking forward to becoming an ambassador!A great Zoeism today.Hope you have a wonderful day.Love and hugs to you,Kisses for Angel Holly,Nikko and Sugar.SheenaXOXO
Kathy
Dear Sheena,
Well said, Her Majesty has to get her rubbish collected. lol Wow, I wouldn’t think it would be very easy to climb into Buckingham Palace. Especially since all those years ago that guy made it into Her Majesty’s bedroom! Best wishes, Galileo Gold. I can imagine how disgusted Tegid was with a stick! Funny stuff. What a world we live in…a rat and a cat running for president. Flowers for Larry…I’m sure it was a generous gesture. Too bad it caused a ruckus. I’m glad you got more rest. 7:30 is pretty early! Poor Ziggy…he needs a treat! Nice that Ty-Nant is having a memorial for the cats. I know Barry Geraghty and family will long remember that visit! Those stud farms are so plush. I hope Mango enjoys her company. I’m sure they’ll bring gifts! Enjoy the warm temperatures! That’s a shame your ambassadorship is put on hold. Maybe another day. I loved Zoe’s Zoeism. A wonderful day back at you. Love and hugs from me, kisses from Angel Holly, Nikko and Sugar. Kathy XOXO

I will not be a spoiler today, but the jumping was very good overall. Some will be happy, and some not; however, that’s life. I was disappointed for several of my favorites, but things turned out well for a couple of them.
More equestrian definitely on Thursday afternoon (MSNBC) and maybe tomorrow afternoon on USA? I love being at home now so I can follow the horses!
Enjoy your preferred athletes!
