Dear Andrej,
I love that funny. It is one of my all time favorites. Have a nice weekend.
Sandy (Northeast Ohio)
One of my favorites too!!! Bitter sweet now without Princess Z, but it was one of Mel’s best ever (DailyRacingFunnies.com). She posted another winner today from last week’s Bing Crosby at Del Mar. The winner, Lord Nelson, takes on a Willie Nelson persona as he strides into the tuft to meet Bing. As Zenny would say – TOO CUTE!
Kathy
Awwww…wish I could be there, but I’m about 3,000 miles away PLUS I’m working tomorrow!
Darlene Daniels
This is awesome Team Z and Stonestreet Stables. Wow, what a poster. I would love to have one. Saratoga is still on my bucket list for another year.
Dear Zenyatta, happy Friday sweetheart. You are always my #1 Belle of the Ball. Love you forever my angel. Stay cool. This heat has been awful. Wishing everyone a cool and happy weekend.
Sandy (Northeast Ohio)
Next year Darlene! We’re gonna GO!

It’s too bad that these two great ladies couldn’t have met on the track at least once. We all know how THAT race would have ended, I think! :-) At least they’ll meet in the Hall of Fame!
sue and tony
We have anticipated this event ever since Zenny retired. How exciting to see this dream come true!
Marshall (NC Broad)
Dear Sue & Tony,
Yes, this is SO exciting! A perfect tribute to our beloved Queen. Our “dream girl” in the Racing Hall of Fame, as it should be.
Congratulations to Zenyatta and her entire family!
Congrats to RA and her connections, too.

Dear Zenny,
So excited for you and Rachel Alexandra! Wish we could all be there. Our hearts will be cheering! So many wonderful and good thinks happen around you, Momma Z. Hope you and everyone here on your website have a restful evening – have to rest up for all of the upcoming events! Love to you and everyone who loves you so. Elizabeth
Judy B from Rhode Island
Dear Elizabeth:
In case you haven’t seen it, I answered your post about photos of Z as a foal. I posted a photo of her (I’m guessing at about 5 or 6 months old) and a video of her as a Yearling in the sales ring. They’re posted just beneath your post on Page 2 of the previous Blog. Love and Hugs, JB
Elizabeth in NM
Dear Judy,
Thank you so much. I did copy the web addresses. I had not seen the one of her as a foal. I had seen the one of her in the auction, but it was so long ago, I forgot about that one. I’m so excited for Zenny and Rachel Alexandra. Wish we could all be there, but will be fun to watch from ‘far away’ also. Am in the middle of research, so am a bit ‘unfocused’ unless working on my project. Hopefully will complete this in the next few months. Hope you have a wonderful Saturday. with love, Elizabeth
Judy B from Rhode Island
Dear Elizabeth:

What an awesome way to celebrate two Queens of Racing; and with Zenyatta pregnant by Rachel’s sire is reflective of a truly ‘family affair’. Wish I still lived back East!
Celeste_in_TX
What a wonderful opportunity for us to watch the ceremony inducting our Queen, and Rachel Alexandra, into the Hall of Fame. The generosity of Team Zenyatta never fails to surprise and delight me! Thank you and Stonestreet for creating this event.

August 6 Cherokee Devotional
Some people believe you can do something wrong to cause something good to happen. No way! How totally off course can we get in our thinking and acting? If we could move into the future and look back on what we’re thinking today, could we believe it? What would our ancestors think of us if they could hear us talking about what is important and what isn’t? What would old Indians think if they could see their descendants now? We tend to think that those who have gone before are gone forever, but that isn’t true. Their spirits live, and ours will live as well. In all that we think and do, we need to remember that we are connected not only to the past but also to the future. All that we do, say, and think matters.
Everything on earth has a purpose, every disease an herb to cure it, and every person a mission.
-Mourning Dove, Salish

Dear Sheena,
I get to work today. Hope you have a great Saturday. The Belles of the Ball celebration sounds great. I thought it was today, then saw it’s on Friday and I’m STILL working. Man! I just can’t win! lol Love and hugs from me, kisses from Angel Hollym Nikko and Sugar. Kathy XOXO
sheena.davies(wales)
Dear Kathy.Such a wonderful devotional today. The past makes us what we are today that’s why I love history.I know, sadly,it has a habit of repeating itself but that’s human nature.I had a very late night watching the opening ceremony didn’t start until midnight! It was pretty colourful a lot are annoyed with the amount of money spent.Mother Theresa has recorded a message for Team GB.A beautiful day over here the Shergar cup is on and Frankie is getting nearer his 3000th winner.I posted the video of the Glaslyn birds getting ringed I had never realised the nest is on top of an 80ft fir tree! The nests on the Dyfi are man made.Gwynedd was a kingdom before the English invaded. The Glaslyn is at Llanfrothen.
Mr Fibbs is the first officshul nominee for the Donutcratic party with elebenty botes worldwide. So you all know who to bote for now forget Trump and Clinton Mr Fibbs for President.I haven’t had time to visit the rest yet.One of my FB friends Rupert is spending the weekend at Maunsel House near Taunton in Somerset.I googled it very beautiful Sir Ben Slade lives there.I think Rupert has been at the scrumpy early!!Hayley Turner has just won she came out of retirement to take part.Larry and Palmerston’s followers continue to rise.Ty-Nant have an amazon wish list and I sent some cat litter (always needed)one of the missing cats has turned up on the grounds and they are trying to trap her but thank God she is safe.Have a lovely day.Love and hugs to you,Kisses for Angel Holly,Nikko and Sugar.SheenaXOXO

The largest recorded bald eagle nest was 9.5 feet wide, 20 feet deep and weighed in at over 2 tons. The eagles do their own construction work. Can take months.

Am I correct in reading there will be a live stream of the ceremony on August 12? If so, how do we access the live stream? I am not very techy and I’ve never been interested in watching a live stream of anything before so I’m unfamiliar with the process. Thanks for any info.
Sandy (Northeast Ohio)
Hi Rosemary – Hope somebody answers this – I’d like to know too!
sheena.davies(wales)
Dear Sandy and Rosemary. The ceremony will be streamed live at racingmuseums.orgHugs Sheena

Sorry racingmuseum.org Hugs
Marshall (NC Broad)
Dear Rosemary and Sandy,
I would like to know, too! I am fairly “old school” when it comes to tech stuff. I have never live-streamed anything either.
Hugs and Love
Dear Sheena,
Just saw your post with the racingmuseum.org site shown. Thanks.
Just wondering, why the address was not highlighted as is usual when links appear in type. Is something missing?
Hugs and Love
Max
She gave the address to you, not the link. Here’s the link.

It is good to get some positive news about this bird. It’s been rough for her.
Marshall (NC Broad)
Thanks a million, Max!
I thought maybe that was the case, but I am mostly in the dark on these things. :-)
Have a great remainder of the weekend.
Cheers!

Thanks Sheena and Max. Really looking forward to seeing this.

Shergar Cup: Female jockeys claim landmark Ascot triumph
bbc.com 8 August 2016
A trio of female jockeys beat three all-male sides to win racing’s team riding event – the Shergar Cup at Ascot – for the first time.
The ‘Girls’ team, of Emma-Jayne Wilson, Sammy Jo Bell and Hayley Turner, claimed three of the six races.
Bell clocked up a 55-1 double to collect the Alistair Haggis Silver Saddle for top rider and Wilson also won in the event, first run in 1999.

Dear Marshall.I watched the replay on FB.He is a big beautiful horse hopefully will do better next time. How are Smudge and Bailey these days?Keeping you busy I’m sure.Love and hugs Sheena
Judy B from Rhode Island
Dear Sheena, Marshall, BGG and Z Fans:
I just saw the replay of Bobby’s race and he didn’t get the best break leaving the gate. Little bit green, but he’ll get there. Congrats to Majoris.
Pleasantly surprised today to find that instead of just live audio, NYRA now has live streaming of all their races. Registration is free and easy. Love and Hugs, JB
Marshall (NC Broad)
Dear Sheena,
I guess Bobby has some learning to do, but you have to start somewhere. He will improve, no doubt.
Bailey and Smudge are doing just fine. They are a comical duo who make me laugh several times a day. They are both big love-bugs, too. Walks have been fewer since the humidity and heat have been so high, but we do short ones two or three times (or more) a week. Thanks for asking!
Hugs and Love
Judy B from Rhode Island
Dear Z Fans:
Absolutely stunning performance today by Frosted. Congrats gorgeous boy. It was so hot at the Spa that he was noticeably breathing heavily in the winners circle. Joel R was wringing wet too from the heat and humidity. Hope all of them came out of the race in good shape. Good efforts by Comfort and JV and Upstart and IO. Effinex didn’t fire today. Next time beautiful boy. Love them all. Love and Hugs, JB
Judy B from Rhode Island
Dear Peggy:
Nobel Bird didn’t fire today either. Next time. Hope he came out of the race OK. Love and Hugs, JB
