The Walk of Champions honors the historic records of outstanding horses, jockeys, trainers, owners and other key figures not just of Santa Anita fame, but encompassing the entire state of California. No hoofprints or handprints adorn downtown sidewalks in the manner of the Hollywood Walk of Fame, but the accomplishments of 60 “Cornerstone Champions” have instead been engraved on 24″ x 24″ informational bronze plaques.
More information about the Walk of Champions and the Gala Celebration can be found at http://arcadiachampions.org.

Hi all, Tues a.m. I had horse duties. Both Jo and Fancy are locked out from their pastures from the p.m. feeding until the a.m. feeding because of caution with foundering with rich grass. I came a.m. and while Fancy was finishing her feeding I was to open two rope barriers leading to her bigger pasture for the day. The large heavy metal gate is much to awkward so we did the ropes. I thought I was alone as Fancy was finishing food but to my surprise when I released the ropes and began to walk them back, Fancy charged out so eagerly I had to drop the ropes praying she would not tangle herself or trip over them!! Whew!! This 34 year old mare cantered all the way to the distant bigger pasture as though she was a kid again! She looked beautiful. BUT I sent out a CAUTION in an email to any other volunteer to what happened and suggested closing her stall door to the outside while doing this. I just never dreamed Fancy would not lick out her dish, that she was so desiring this pasture. I know, first my foot now a close call with Fancy tripping or falling. I think I have become to complacent as I know the horses like the back of my hand….or so I thought. Just another lesson learned day by day.
hugs to all, Sally B

Dear Sally,
34 and still going strong! Love it. I know there are risks, but every now and then we all just have to make a ‘break’ away ~ Fancy, quite the girl! Hope you are wearing ‘boots’ (ouch – a bit tough on tender toes. . . but necessary) when out with the horses. Glad you and Fancy are OK. Look forward to next update. with love, Elizabeth

Dear Sally B Fancy. has reached the age when she hasn’t a care in the world and that is how it should be.Living life on the edge so wonderful for her 34yrs.Hugs Sheena
Sally Blank (cherishes Z and her foals)
sheena, I agree. I love to see her have the quality of life a horse her age deserves.
What does she have to lose at this stage.

Here’s some everyday wisdom: dig down into the deepest part of what you know and give it color and shape. Don’t even pretend to be intellectual. Talk with simple and comforting words, with plain, everyday language that people of every culture can understand. Talk directly to people, not down to them or looking up. Point the way as you know it.
Stop mulling over what others are thinking and remember the times you needed help. Let it go and be yourself. Pretension is the first sign of insecurity. If self needs to be corrected, you do it-don’t let someone else try to do it for you. If someone else fails, they have to fix it. If we fail, it is our responsibility.
When I look upon you, I know you are all big chiefs.

Dear Kathy.I have always spoken from the heart using simple words.Boy,oh,boy I overslept this morning and I always like to be out early to shop so I am running late now. It’s a beautiful day here but they had torrential rain in the south of England yesterday the Royal Windsor Horse show was a washout A month’s worth of rain in 12hrs.Glesni is calling for lunch Blue is still bringing in nesting material and Monty has been visiting her.Midterm looks ready for the Dante a beautifully bred colt. One of my FB “friends”Manthle is in Dubai on holidays it’s about 100F there but she is used to heat having lived in AfricaShe’s the won with a parrot! Poor Mr Fibbs says mum used their snack monies to get the fridge magnets and they will stabe if nobody buys them them!
We have drama in the Sennydd it seemed a done deal that Carwyn Jones was going to be First Minister but the Tories Plaid Cymru and Ukip got together and want Leanne Wood to be the first Minister!Stalemate we may have to have another election lots of drama behind the scenes. It’s always been so dull and quiet there.
Did you see that dancing dog on Zoe’s page?I met a labrador training to be an assistance dog and I wasn’t allowed to be to touch her very difficult for me!
Midterm is behaving very coltish in pre-parade but he has settled now and put his “bits” away as Jim McGrath said!Hope you have a great day.Love and hugs to you, kisses for Angel Holly,Nikko and Sugar.SheenaXOXO

Good morning Zenny, Team Z & Zensters!
I thought some of you might enjoy this: VANCOUVER video from Coolmore. He’s a champion 2 year-old by Medaglia d’Oro who will race in the UK before returning to Australia to run there. Enjoy!

Thanks, Abigail.
He looks great — love watching him run. Good luck to him, and hope he makes his daddy proud. Sounds as though they are very well pleased with him, too — “he checks all the boxes”. Look forward to hearing about his racing in the UK, and in Australia.
Hugs and Love
Kathy
Dear Sheena,
I’m running late, too! All my best to all the horses and ospreys. I’m sure the fridge magnets will sell well. Mom and Dad would never let their ratties starve. Always lots of drama in politics. Puts a little spice in our lives! I did see the dancing dog on Zoe’s page. So, so cute! Have a wonderful Friday Eve. Love and hugs from me, kisses from Angel Holly, Nikko and Sugar. Kathy XOXO

I didn’t know if this has been posted, but there is a new movie coming out in a day or two about a horse from ‘Wales’ `~ ‘Dark Horse’. I just saw this on Bloodhorse’s website:

Sheena, thought you probably knew about this horse – sounds like a wonderful story.

Dear Elizabeth.Sandy kindly sent me the link.Dream Alliance was well known in Wales especially as he spent his early years on the allotment. It only goes to show you don’t need a famous sire or broodmare to produce a champion.I remember him winning our Welsh Grand National and I was so glad to hear he has a good home with his groom. Thanks for sharing .Love and hugs Sheena.
Marshall (NC Broad)
Dear Elizabeth,
Thanks for posting this. I am really psyched up to see “Dark Horse” now! I do hope it comes to the Chapel Hill/ Durham area. It sounds like something that one of our small theaters here might show. I will be on the lookout for it for sure!
