The Walk of Champions honors the historic records of outstanding horses, jockeys, trainers, owners and other key figures not just of Santa Anita fame, but encompassing the entire state of California. No hoofprints or handprints adorn downtown sidewalks in the manner of the Hollywood Walk of Fame, but the accomplishments of 60 “Cornerstone Champions” have instead been engraved on 24″ x 24″ informational bronze plaques.
More information about the Walk of Champions and the Gala Celebration can be found at http://arcadiachampions.org.

May 11 Cherokee Devotional
Once a teacher told me there is no devil. Is there no evil either? Can I rely on that bit of information? I believed the teacher until I saw evil and I knew it was not from God. Where did it come from? Listen, anyone who teaches there are no opposites is trying to offset the thing that makes them do wrong. Right and wrong, left and right, up and down. There is no void at the opposite end of goodness. It is bad and bad comes from you know who.
If there is anything in your life that has gone wrong, you have to know it came from an evil place. Stop denying your own common sense. We are taught to rebuke evil. If it doesn’t exist, how can we rebuke it? Turn away from studying what intellectual man has to say and read the Truth. It will reward you abundantly.
We believe that the Spirit pervades all creation.

Yesterday, we drove up the mountain to see the first foal born in our area this spring (that we know of). So sweet with the biggest star on his forehead I’ve seen. Hope we see more soon. We (us and all of our neighbors here) are all spread out into about 5 large canyons in our area of the mountains, so many of the horses can’t even be seen from our roads. It is beautiful here, and Springtime is my favorite season. Hope everyone has a wonderful day today.
Sally Blank (cherishes Z and her foals)
Elizabeth in New Mexico; WOW, sounds beautiful where you live! Enjoy your day.

Dear Elizabeth:
Agree with Sally, sounds absolutely beautiful. Love and Hugs, JB

Dear Kathy.Sadly there is much evil in this world but good will always out.Better day here but still very humid a miserable morning on the Dyfi only 2 weeks before the chicks hatch!Glesni incubating at the moment. The Duke of York is attending races at the Knavesmire along with Camilla. She and Prince Charles had a good 2nd with Pacify. Her Majesty was overheard at a garden party calling the Chinese “very rude” during the state visit last October there was some row about our security I think.I believe she is certainly allowed an opinion.
The ratties were busy campaigning in Birginia no rest for Mr Fibbs! He will make an excellent president.Hillary can’t seem to shake off Bernie.Looking forward to seeing Midterm tomorrow in the Dante.I would love to see him win a derby for his mum Midday. His sire is of course the mighty Galileo.Such a sad story on Mango about a poor pup who was shot then dragged by a car and spray painted. He has made a forever friend at the Rescue though. Some humans are monsters!Mango will soon know if she has made it to the 2nd round of the hero dogs.Nerissa’s life(now Seville)is thrilled to be a finalist in the best humour section of blogpaws.Zoe certainly had a busy day yesterday.Hope you have a great day Love and hugs to you, kisses for Angel Holly,Nikko and Sugar.SheenaXOXO
Kathy
Dear Sheena,
Seems like we see more and more evil as time goes by. We have to hold onto the hope that good will win in the end. Sorry you’re having humidity. Poor ospreys! Congratulations to Prince Charles and Camilla Pacify’s 2nd. Her Majesty certainly can have her opinions. Maybe she’ll run across some very polite Chinese who will leave a favorable impression. Fibbs’ campaign schedule is grueling. Hopefully he’s eating a lot of nutritious food to keep up his energy! Enjoy the Dante! I hadn’t seen the story on Mango about that puppy. Poor baby. I hope he recovers. Fingers crossed Mango makes it to the second round! Congratulations, Nerissa (Seville)! I was exhausted just reading about Zoe’s day yesterday! Have a good Hump Day. Love and hugs from me, kisses from Angel Holly, Nikko and Sugar. Kathy XOXO

i was wondering why the Walk of Champions was never mentioned. I looked and looked all over for the celebration or plaque. Sure wish I could go but it’s not possible. Was going to send my sis in my place, but I see it’s yet another drawing, so forget that too. Dang it. Maybe one day Lanes End will allow visitors–my only hope of ever seeing the lovely, admired and beloved Queen. Take care Zenyatta. XOXOXO.
Sally Blank (cherishes Z and her foals)
Dear zfansandy; The announcement of this is at the top of the blog. We had no further notice, this is the notice and opportunity. I know how you feel, I want to be with Zenyatta too.

Hi! Sheena, I was late last night wishing you Happy Birthday on FB. Hope your day was Special. I love the filly’s play on name “So Mi Dar” and her mama’s “Dar Re Mi”. They are both beautiful girls. Time sure flies, especially, on the Dyfi. My day is not complete until I check in on Glesni & Monty, as well as, Bei Bei in Washington, and of course, our Zenyatta. And this is all while I am at work, so I have to sneak my peeks. Take good care, dear friend. xoxoxoMM
sheena.davies(wales)
Dear Mary Margaret. We have such a good crop of fillies this season no standout colt yet.So Mi Dar is improving with every run.Only 2 -3 weeks before the chicks arrive at the Dyfi.Poor Blue is bringing in nesting material Monty has visited.Hopefully she will not lay anymore eggs.Thank you for the birthday greetings last night.Love and hugs SheenaXOXO

Oh good, my message went through. When I submitted same a blocker came up which our IT Dept has placed on our computers at work. We have so much spam coming into the office. I look forward to reading Zenyatta’s blog on my lunch hour but, may not be able to respond. I’m keeping my fingers crossed they don’t block total access, too. Sleep well, I’m sure you are all tucked in at this hour. Take good care. xoxoxoMM

Dear Z Fans:
Really insightful comments from the jockeys who rode in the Derby. Gives us a very good idea of what it’s like to race in a large field of horses. Hope you find them as interesting as I did. Love and Hugs, JB

Sally Blank (cherishes Z and her foals)
Dear Judy B; Thank you so much for this link. I found this incredibly interesting. What did Mike Smith exactly mean with his terms he used? hmmm
It definitely is not easy racing with 20 horses on the track! WOW.
love n hugs, Sally B
Judy B from Rhode Island
Dear Sally:
I will try to explain what I’ve read about displaced Palettes in horses. Horses have a soft palette in their throats that can become displaced and block their airway. If this happens the horse can’t breath through his nose normally and it can cause the horse to make a “choking” sound. I think Mikey was saying he had never heard Danzing Candy make that sound before and he suspected that his Palette may have displaced. It can happen as a result of hard exercise. Poor baby; he ran so very hard to get a good position in the race. Love and Hugs, JB
Judy B from Rhode Island
Dear Sally and Z Fans:
Turns out Mikey was right. Found this on Horse Racing Nation. It’s a condition that does impair breathing. Poor baby. Glad he’s OK now. Mikey knows his horses. Love and Hugs, JB
Trainer Cliff Sise announces that Danzing Candy had an entrapped epiglottis after Derby run, but is all Cleared up now. He will return to California for rest and will be given a break.

Dear Judy,
Is great to know what happen on track, love it !

Judy B,
Thnks for the jockey’s quotes. On a slow motion view of the race, I did see Kent pull up Exaggerator but don’t know if he would have caught Nyquist if it hadn’t happened. Sounds like SBN just had a bad trip with the big field. Like that his jockey didn’t make a lot of excuses. And finally, blessing to Joel for pulling up Shag with it was clear he couldn’t do it that day.
Judy B from Rhode Island
Dear Shirlee:
Remarkable that Exaggerator was able to finish second with all the trouble he had. Says a lot for him and Kent that they collected themselves and came back again. Yes, SBN had trouble too. Thank God for jockeys like GS and Mikey and others, who do what’s best for the welfare of the horse. Love and Hugs, JB

Sheena–Of course, the above birthday wish was for YOU !! Thought I had put the greeting up front—silly me !! Love—Sue

Where is the announcement about the championship walk.? Many of us live near Arcadia and are on pins and needles!!!!!
Also, Still praying for Blue to find a late mate and have some egg luck?? But at least she’s not endangered like all those nesting birds and baby animals in Alberta Canada who are VERY endangered inspite of what everyone up there is trying to do to save them all. Prayers for them all, the poor little new ones and their Moms and Pops too People in vans hauling horses and all animals out of that awful fire.. Many prayers needed. Hugs to all. Marilyn

Dear Marilyn:
Team Z posted a link in the Blog Post above http://arcadiachampions.org for more info on the Walk of Champions. Maybe that will help. Love and Hugs, JB
