Breeders’ Cup is around the corner, and the sixth annual Zenyatta Celebration will begin on November 2. Each year, our online event raises money for Thoroughbreds in need with auctions, giveaways and even opportunities to meet Zenyatta.
Details of the 2018 Celebration will be announced soon, but we’re kicking off the fun right now with a t-shirt design contest. We can’t wait to see what you come up with!
The contest begins now and ends on October 31, 2018 at 11:59 PM Pacific Time. We will choose a group of finalists from all eligible entries, and you’ll be able to vote for the winner during the Zenyatta Celebration. The winning entry will be printed on a t-shirt that will be available for sale at the Zenyatta Shop in December.
The winner of the contest will receive a $150 Zenyatta Shop gift certificate plus six t-shirts featuring their design.
You can enter the contest by submitting a t-shirt design to fans@zenyatta.com. Designs must fit within an 8”x12” space. Entries must be submitted in .jpg, .png, .pdf, .psd, .ai, or .eps format. You must include your full name, mailing address, and email address with your entry in order to be eligible to enter to win.
Tip: Use https://wetransfer.com to send files that are too large to email.

Dear Z Friends, Judy, Marshall, Sheena, Darlene, Donna Z, Ann, Shirlee and everyone that sent me well wiahes for the storm. It was a real Nightmare all night long. Such high winds. It came right thru South Georgia. It was such a blessing that we only had tree limbs down.
Sorry I am a few days getting in here, but my 85 year old mom broke her hip and had surgery and then went to rehab. Almost a whole month, but she just came home Thursday and is home now. So it has just been a whirlwind for me. Going back and forth to Hospital and Rehab center everyday will just wear you out.
I do hope things get back to normal.
Shirlee Munchies Kid Fortin Hill is just gorgeous. I just absolutely loved Cherokee Run too his Dam Sire. I will sure be following Fortin.
Judy, Thank You again for sending me the race.
While I am here maybe some of you know, A little concerned.
Does anyone know where Gemologist is? Thought he was at Winstar, But did not see him listed on their Stallion Roster for 19. Oh gosh, so hope they are not sending him overseas. If anyone knows please post.

Dear Judy.As I told Peggy floods in Wales today and it is still raining. The worry is now how much water will flow into the rivers from the mountains.100 sheep were washed away and some horses rescued in Monmouth.Hovis must have been sunbathing temps were 80F in Lincoln .Some good racing though. The official photos of the wedding have been published.Goodnight God bless you LM PC HT and all the sweeties.Love and hugs SheenaX

Dear Sheena:
Wow, you’re having your own horrible weather there. So sad for the sheep. Blessed the horses fared better Hovis in a heat wave.
Goodnight. Love and Hugs, JB, LM and all the Sweeties
Marshall (NC Broad)
Dear Friends,
Thank all of you for the kind thoughts of us doing battle with Hurricane Michael. I thought we were in the clear Thursday afternoon when lo and behold the winds picked up. Michael played havoc with our area, northwest and west of us, too. We had lots of trees blown down and the ensuing power outages. My power went out at 5PM Thursday and just came back today around 2:30PM. Of course the other side of our street never lost power! No damage in our neighborhood fortunately. Will have to empty most everything from the refrigerator, but considering the utter decimation experienced by Florida and other areas, no big deal.
Good to be back in communication though. Thank goodness I still have a “real” telephone landline — that is what I deem a lifeline! No electricity or internet needed.
Hope everyone has a lovely week. Thank goodness it turned cool Thursday night and has been beautiful and fall-like after the storm. Good to hear from Neighbor Ann, too.
Hugs and Love
sheena.davies(wales)
Dear Marshall. So sorry you had’nt heard the last from Michael. You can never beat a real phone can you?Such a pity about the fridge and your food.Wales has been battling the rain and floods today.A small town in Brecon was completely cut off for awhile this afternoon the river Usk burst it’s banks itwas really warm in other parts of the UK.Strange Hope you have seen the last of the hurricanes.Take great care my dear.Love and hugs
Marshall (NC Broad)
Dear Sheena,
It is good to be in touch again! You are right — a real phone is a true blue friend. Looking on the bright side about the refrigerator situation, there are some things in the freezer that have been forgotten too long so now I can do a purge. :-)
I am considering replacing the refrigerator since it is 16 years old and will be quite empty now. I love this unit, and it is working just fine; however, I don’t want to wait too long because I can still get the same (or almost the same) model and size. I get attached to these things — my previous fridge lasted for 30+ years! It was a “workhorse” and almost a relative — still my favorite of all time, and unlike some relatives, very easy to get along with. ;-)
Hope the rains subside in your area. Please stay safe and dry.
Hugs and Love
sheena.davies(wales)
Dear Marshall.I get very attached to things in my home I was almost brokenhearted when my old fridge gave up the ghost.Well over 25yrs old.Trouble is in the UK it’s difficult to find anything similar now.Thank God it’s dry today and the clean up has begun. To think the winter is only beginning!Stay safe my friend.Love and hugs.
Judy Berube
Dear Marshall:
Oh, my gosh, you have really been through it between these two terrible storms. Glad you have your power back and hope this is the last of hurricanes this season. Hope you and the pups are doing well now. Love and Hugs, JB
Marshall (NC Broad)
Dear Judy,
Yes, just when I thought Michael had finished, the winds hit. There are some who are still without power. Some had power but lost internet and phone which was through the cable company. Sincerely hope the 2018 hurricane season has concluded.
Bailey and Smudge are just great. Neither one enjoys the rain — can’t blame them. We have had a very wet season. Those who know have been warning us to keep an eye on mushrooms in our yards. Be sure your pets can’t get to them to eat/chew since you can’t identify the poisonous ones.
Have a great week, my friend. Pats and tummy rubs to Lola Mae!
Hugs and Love

Dear Zenny friends,
I have a lot of catching up to do here, but first things first: HAPPY BIRTHDAY to our Ann in NC yesterday and Debbie G in Kentucky today! Wishing you both happy days and a great year ahead. ????❤️❤️??
Have been “on the road” for a bit so very glad to know that Peggy, Marshall , and Ann got through the latest storm without major incident. Sorry that you lost power, Marshall, and your refrigerator contents. That is a pain to be sure. I’m right with you re having a “real” phone. AT&T is never going to get mine away from me although they keep jacking up the price (I’m sure in hopes that I will get discouraged- HA!)
Got to SEE Mr. Coz at the Thoroughbred Makeover! We saw him in the show hunter competition, which is not the one that moved him on to the finals, but we thought he did great. It was nice to see and chat with Ann too. She said that “they” have been having trouble coming up with the right name for our little filly, but hoped to have something nailed down soon,
Also had a great visit with Beholder which I “won” in a lottery for a contribution to the Grayson-Jockey Club Research Foundation. It was a thrill and a half. I took lots of peppermints, which she is not allowed to have in her pregnant state, but they did provide carrots ????. I hoped we would also get to see her first foal, but he was “unavailable.”
Although it was VERY warm, we were very lucky to be in Lexington before the rain and cold arrived. Even here on the north coast, we’ve gone from nearly 90 to the 50s in the space of just a couple of days. Hard to adjust. Hope all is well with my Zenny friends ❤️
Judy Berube
Dear Sandy:
Wow, sounds like a splendid trip; meeting gorgeous Beholder and visiting with Ann and COZ. Couldn’t be better. Good to know we should have a name for Medaglia Princess soon.
Sending very Happy Birthday wishes to our Ann and Debbie. Thanks for reminding us. Love and Hugs, JB
Marshall (NC Broad)
Dear Sandy,
Wow, what a great adventure you have had! How exciting to see Coz and Isabela compete and to talk to Ann Moss, too. Glad they are working on a proper name for 17Z.
The icing on the cake is getting to visit with Beholder, too. Kind of a triple play or a home-run, huh?
So good to see a post from you. Thanks for the birthday alerts, also. Happy Belated Birthday to Ann in NC and Happy Birthday today to Debbie G. ? ? ?
Hugs and Love
P.S. I will hold tight to my real telephone, too — AT&T will have to discontinue true telephone service (they probably will) to cause my giving it up. :-)
Roberta Gonzalez
Hi, seeing you talked to Ann, and she mentioned the filly, was anything said about Ziconic? The fact that there is no news at all is getting worrisome!!
Sandy (Northeast Ohio)
Honestly, we didn’t ask. Didn’t want to push our luck.
shirleeinindy
Sandy,
What a thrill it must have been to meet Coz, Isabela and Ann. I am jealous! And to get to meet Beholder. Hope you have some great pictures to post for us. Isn’t it great that we have had so many champion fillies and mares in the last few years? Since so many of the colts retire at 3 guess it is up to the girls to keep up everyone’s interest in the sport.
Weather here in Indy is crazy. One day the air was on the next the furnace. Cold and rainy here for the most part.
Celeste_in_Texas
Sounds like a great trip! What a thrill to see Coz and have a visit with Ann. Meeting Beholder would be such a thrill also. Thanks for sharing your adventures with us!

Exciting news about Enable coming to the BC. Best of Luck to her — she’s a beautiful talented girl!
A very Happy Birthday to Dame Angela!! She is such a fine actress and lady — I still watch “Murder She Wrote” every night (when I should be asleep!). She is multi-talented and a true legend. An absolute favorite of mine. May she “tread those boards” for many more years.

Belated best to all who had to go through Hurricane Matthew. I think we all know what is causing the storms to become more severe, though some prefer to deny it. Out west it is drought and forest fires. Soon, it will be a lack of water.
So glad to hear about Harry and Meghan. Bless their hearts.

Sheena,
So glad that Enable is coming. The Breeders Cup races need to feature the best of the best and she surely is The Best. Of course, this is bad news for the American runners in the Turf. As Judy said, safe and easy travel to her. Do you know if Roaring Lion is coming?

Roaring Lion is running on saturday in the Champion Stakes at Ascot. No decision yet on Breeders Cup.He’s had a very long season.I heard Winx will carry on after the Cox Plate!
