Thanks for this post, Elizabeth!
Big Congratulations to Victor Espinoza, a really nice guy. Very deserving of this award.
Big Congratulations to California Chrome and VE on their win today in Dubai. Chrome looked fabulous — carrying that extra 15 lbs without problem (total: 132 lbs). CC is certainly a gorgeous boy.
Dear Kathy.Certainly the best things in are free!I hope you are feeling less sore today. It will take awhile to heal fully.Oh,boy I overslept big time today and my shopping day I nearly had a fit when I saw the time slept through 2 alarms!!!Loads of comments on the North Wales FB about the hound. The chief superindendent’s name was Sacha Hatchet suited her down to the ground.Another heart breaking story of a little spaniel found at the side of the road laying on a bag which contained her 4 dead puppies.Just discarded like rubbish somewhere in Lincolnshire(Hovis land)She is with the RSPCA now and is in good condition. They have no idea whether the pups were stillborn or died from the cold but she wouldn’t leave them. There is talk Michael Gove could get the sack now better be careful his wife is a journalist.Mr Portillo is back on the railways in Scotland now I had hoped he would have visited the west coast of the US.Zoe looks so sweet in her bee style dress today.I haven’t had the time to visit anymore yet!Have a great day.Love.Peace.Doughnuts.I bought some today with pink icing!Love and hugs to you,Kisses for Holly Nikko and Sugar SheenaXOXO
I’ll bet lots of people are stirred up about that poor hound. Oh man, the story about the spaniel is SO heartbreaking. I pray the poor puppies were stillborn. God bless her, I hope she gets a wonderful home. We’ll have to see what happens to Michael Gove. Mr Portillo certainly has a wonderful job! Would have been nice if he visited our west coast. Zoe looks so pretty in that bee dress. I wonder if Ken built her a little closet for all her beautiful little dresses. You have a wonderful day, too. The doughnuts with pink icing sound good! Love and hugs from me, kisses from Holly, Nikko and Sugar. Kathy XOXO
Just rewatched Ziconic’s race for the ?? – time. Even more exciting than yesterday… and day before. I just noticed that Ziconic seemed a bit distracted when he came by the stands for a few seconds. Then he looked straight forward again and then just ‘took off’. I think he’s really going to do great things as he gets more comfortable with all of the people and noise.
RiP Ceiling Kitty who died last night while foaling a Camelot colt at Chasemore Farm.He was saved with seconds to spare.Much sympathy to all connections.Hugs Sheena
OHHHH MYYYY STARSSSS!!! Chrome was outstanding at Meydan today. He broke a tad slowly, settled in at third and surged ahead turning for home. VE barely moved. CC looked relaxed, comfortable and effortless as he took the lead. He also looks really handsome and really BIG.
What a ride Victor gave our boy Chromie !!!! What a week—first Zi does so great and now Chromie shows ’em how it’s done !!! I’m floating on air !! Had tears in my eyes all over again–Chestnuts RULE !!!
Guess I’d better get back to work now and shop for the 6 grocery delivery orders I need to do !! It will be easy now, just savoring that great run as I push carts around the store.
Tonight, when I get home, I can play some links and hear the interviews–my computer at work has the sound turned off—but the smiles said it all !!
Samson’s operation has been a success!!!This gentle giant cries for his family but they shed no tears for him,There are some scenes of surgery in the video.Sheena. http://www.facebook.com/ViktorLarkhillOffical/
Dear Sheena,
I got a “sorry this page is not available”, but am very happy that Samson’s operation was successful. Dogs are the most faithful creatures so it is totally heartbreaking when humans cast them aside or treat them cruelly.
Best Wishes to Samson for good health, and most of all, a secure, kind and loving forever home.
Dear Maeshall .Sorry about the link. It’s dreadful to see an animal so frightened and crying for his family who,of course, don’t care about him.He had the tumours removed from his eyes.Hopefully they are benign and he can find a new home and Penny the paralysed dog is doing so well now.Love and hugs to you Bailey and Smudge.Sheena

Dear Sheena,
Fingers crossed that the tumors are benign. Poor Samson doesn’t need more bad things happening to him. Glad to hear that Penny is doing so well, too.

Good going Chromie. He looks so darn good and so much bigger than last year. It looks as if the older horses might well be much more exciting than the 3 year olds this year. So many of the older guy and gals are returning to the track.

Thank you for updating us on Hovis. Yes, the potential sharers should be very afraid of all of Hovis’ FB fans! He is after all a rock star AND a Destroyer. Safe trips to all horses and jockeys running this weekend.
There they go-all those people rushing and pushing toward something. Do they know something we do not know? Do they see beyond where you and I can see? Should we be doing the same thing? Isn’t it funny how people sometimes act so much like farm animals? One cow starts toward the pond and all the others line up behind her. One chicken rushes toward the feed and all the others run in fear of being left without food. Do we know any better than a cow or a chicken?
People have always wanted to be the first to know, the first to do. But when we rush off trying to do what everyone else does, to dress as everyone else does, to eat what everyone else does, we may find ourselves very unsatisfied-because we haven’t paid attention to what we really need and what really nourishes us. Pay attention to what really feeds you.
