Happy Monday!
Zenyatta’s colts are now both at Belmont Park with John Shirreffs.
Ziconic recently graduated from training at Mayberry Farm, where he was galloping every day and picking up speed. He arrived at Belmont over the weekend, joining his older brother Coz. Dottie tells us that Ziconic has a wonderful attitude about training and is one happy horse!
We’ll be visiting the boys this week. Updates to come!

I want to see Jess’s Dream and Coz race against each other. Might that happen? Two of the greatest mares to ever live and race produce boys the same year. Glad the owners are not pushing them too hard but still would live to see them race against each other a few times.

Dear Jamie:
Just checked and Jess has had two workouts at Belmont, 4/27/15 and 5/11/15. Looks like he’s getting ready for his debut. Love and Hugs, JB

Dear Judy,
I cannot wait to see him running,
I love Rachel also.

Looks like Ziconic has his Momma’s perked ears. Such a handsome colt! So looking forward to training updates from John. So much to look forward to with Coz and Ziconic and news of Zenny. Thanks so much, Team Z! Hope everyone has a wonderful night’s sleep – dreaming of days ahead of Z’s family ‘racing’!

Have mercy on other people when they do you wrong. No way must you hug them to you-but exercise patience and endurance.
Forgiveness is not reconciliation. But it frees you of responsibility and you move on without dragging something on your shoe. See it as experience you will never have to go through again. You have wisdom now and wisdom knows mercy. Wisdom knows your heart and knows the heart of others. If you bend low to forgive someone, you stand straight as an arrow and stay forever sharp and ready.

Thanks to Team Z for the news and picture of The Red Prince. He sure is beautiful.
Must be exciting around the barns at Belmont. The 2 princes are there, Jess’s Dream is there and so is Palace Malice. And lest we forget, The Beastie. Hope the 2 princes ignore advice from Palace Malice and Beastie! Both can be a handful.

Thank you for sharing this exciting news and the wonderful photo with us!! How great that both of Zenyatta’s colts are in training with John now and he can bring them along to develop to their very best levels with his horsemanship skills. I will be looking forward to more pictures and updates and of course, I will keep both of them as well as Zenyatta and all the Team Z in my grateful heart. Thanks!!

Dear Kathy.Happy anniversary!hope you and Steve have a wonderful day!Your devotional is so appropriate today as the Prince of Wales has shaken hands with the Sinn Fein president Gerry Adams. So many families both sides of the Irish Sea were affected by the’troubles’.A total of waste of lives. While no one will ever forget forgiveness is so good for the soul.Tomorrow he will visit the little fishing village in County Sligo where his beloved uncle Lord Louis Mountbatten plus members of his family were murdered on august 27th 1979.It will be very emotional for him.It was a pity Mr Adams had to comment on the Prince’s close association with the army though. It is good to see our Islands move on from the difficult times.
I cannot understand the changes with Zeus,I found the new page but where have all the friends gone and I thought she had 5 poms!Yet more sad animal stories a beautiful dog named Koda was stabbed by it’s owner only 13 months old and the owner has been bailed!!Story was on Mango’s page. Then the police in Tyneand Wear(north of England)went completely over the top with snipers and helicopters because some cows were loose and they shot Bessie while she was in a field!!!danger to the public are they nuts? There is going to be a candlelit vigil for her tomorrow.Peeps are very annoyed!Miss Kitty face is having problems with her FB again and poor Boo has to carry his own treats shocking!Zoe will have to keep a close eye on Gizmo!Have a great day. Thanks for the lovely post on my timeline.Love and hugs to you,Kisses for Holly Nikko and Sugar.SheenaXOXO
Kathy
Dear Sheena,
I love it when the Devotional is perfect with what’s going on that day. Remembering all the families across the pond affected by the troubles. I’m very confused by all the changes with Zeus. I definitely remember 5 poms, too. Very saddened by all the awful animal stories. Sorry for Miss Kitty’s FB problems. I would have thought Boo would never have to lift a paw, that there would be a minion to do everything for him! Poor Zoe is being way too trusting. As I posted…”very fishy!” You’re welcome for the post on your timeline. Thank you again for the beautiful e-card. Steve really liked it, too! Have a wonderful day. Love and hugs from me, kisses from Holly, Nikko and Sugar. Kathy XOXO

YEA! What wonderful news! Since their moms didn’t run against each other perhaps Cozmic One and Jess’ Dream will. Perhaps later this year Ziconic can make his debut and Coz can show what he learned from his first race. We all know he can do much much better. I’m also hoping that perhaps Pennmarydel will make his debut and Margano will get to run one more time. Besides all these cool things, the possibility of a Triple Crown winner is always exciting. I saw Secretariat, Seattle Slew and Affirmed get the job done and I like everyone else, would very much like to see one more in my life.
Tizgood
Gosh Martha,
How amazing to see all of these triple crown winner.
You have been so very lucky.

Just got a workout notice for Texas Red! It wasn’t the fastest, but at least he’s BAACK! :-)
Terry Crow
That is good news. Texas Red was my original choice for the KD.

Terry,
Mine too! Wishing really hard for a TC but not getting too worked up about it. Materiality could be a spoiler!

Good to know Texas Red is back in training. Thanks. Beautiful boy. Love and Hugs, JB

Just checked Hansen’s 2 year old races he had a MSW in 9/11 and a second
race end of 9/11 and then a win in BCC Juvenile Male.

So exciting to know the boys are together with John. Zenny must be a very proud MOM to have such handsome and charismatic boys. I just want them to be happy and healthy. I feel so blessed to share these times with all of you.
Roberta
Now it’s going to get exciting!!! From the day he was born, I don’t know how many of you remember how taken we were of him. How much he looked like a little Secretariat; How we remarked about his presence, and instead of being sort of skinny and all legs, he was so muscular; How close he and his mother was, and he was born on her birthday; How he raced with his mother side by side until out of sight, and he was no more then 3 weeks old, when she leaned in on , he never lost a step; How he loves to train, and races in his sleep, like in the Kentucky Derby; How they say at Lane’s End “That he is special, and a pleasure to be around”; And last, but not least, his father is the King of sires, and his mother is the Queen. I for one, can’t wait to see this beautiful son of Zenyatta & Tapit, show his stuff!!!!
Deb E.
I know! I’m so excited to see how Ziconic does and how all the good “ju-ju” that has surrounded him since he was born plays out. When I saw the first picture of Zi with Zenny and saw that she had given birth to a muscular leggy chestnut with three white socks and a white blaze I felt that electric prickling feeling I get when I see something truly wonderful and amazing. I’ve gotten that feeling with other athletes I’ve watched in other sports at the very beginning of their competitive careers, but very rarely, and my feeling has always paid off with championships and gold medals, so to have the same feeling for Ziconic from Day 1 of his life is truly special to me. I just know he’ll be special.
Tizgood
So very well said Roberta and nothing to be taken away from CoZ, all of Zenyatta’s foals are going to be different because so far they have different sires.
Tapit is a very hot sire right now and he gives his progeny speed and precosity and talent. Most all are stakes or graded stakes winners and some champions. A great sire.
Bernardini is the same in a different way, slower to develop, and usually stakes winners,
gorgeous and more muscular than Tapit’s. Tapit’s are leaner.
All of the sires have great qualities in different ways to compliment the Queen.
Especially Horses / So Cal
Roberta that was wonderful. You so eloquently highlighted Zi’s young life to date. You brought back to memory some of those special little tidbits that have been shared; notably the running in his sleep.
I remember Ann saying, in an interview, something along the lines of “we think he’s special, good to hear you think so too.”
Yes Ann, many of us think he is going to be something very special.

Dear Max.I didn’t know Americain was over at the Irish National Stud these days..One of his “ladies” had kept him waiting yesterday! There’s a gorgeous video of Quevega and her daughter in the paddock on their FB.Another treble for Ryan today! The short guy is sure to win the Irish championship.Hugs Sheena.
Max
Is there another photo? You mentioned one a few days ago. Really liked it.
Calumet has some of sort of arrangement whereby Americain is standing in Ireland. Don’t know for how long. If the ladies are that busy with their preps, he should bid his time with his iPad. Could email the Moose or Kauto for some distraction. Galileo could give him some advice about charming the females.
Has the other Walsh guy got a chance at the championship?
Read that Mullins has 30 group one jump winners so far this year, and he’s still at it in Europe.
sheena.davies(wales)
Dear Max.It’s a lovely little video of Quevega this time.Mark Walsh was doing so well until his injury it looks as if the short guy has caught up now.I know Mullins has been fantastic this year.I wonder if he will run Vautour in France or keep him until next season. If you recall he wasn’t happy with him for Punchestown. Will always remember his superb performance at the festival.Americain could get some good advise from the boys treat em’ mean keep em’keen as Hovis would say!Sheena.
Max
Just saw the new photo and the video. That filly is full of energy. Nice little blaze.
Americain is giving everyone the sweet look in his photo. Big D could pull that off too, but it was a mistake to believe it.
Tizgood
Dear Sheena,
Those video of Q and her foal are so precious especially the one of
her running with the foal. She is a beautiful mare and so spirited. What a
stallion roster they have and such a beautiful landscape.

Well, seems John has a lot of responsibility to The Mosses to get these boys on the track as successful race horses. Assume he is resolving the issues with Coz’s behavior and lack of speed. Have not seen a work at Belmont yet. Curious to see how Ziconic will compare. He is much more laid back. I know, trust John as always. But he admitted said they need to regroup and work on speed now. I thought that was the idea in the first place to win a race or at least make an effort. Kinda wish John was not so so conservative with his timeline. The Mosses have invested a lot up this point and have the right to expect results. Not judging, just thinking outloud. Been visiting this wonderful site for many years.
Donna Z
It’s exciting to see that Ziconic is at Belmont already! He looks so content in the photo. John will take the best of care with him just as the Mayberrys & Lanes End did. I am looking forward to hearing how both boys are doing as they progress in their training.
Ann & Jerry, I am sure you will have a great time visiting with the boys & the racing people of Team Z. Thank you for the picture of Ziconic.
Carol, so sorry to hear about your little accident & am glad that it was something that was easy to fix even though you had to go without food for so long. I hope that your healing goes smoothly from now on.
Kathy, That was a great devotional today & one we need to be reminded of. Thank you again for posting these wonderful messages. By the way, Happy Anniversary!
Has anyone heard anything about Z’s full brother, Monty? I haven’t even heard what his registered name is yet. The last thing I knew, he was supposed to be at the Mayberry’s around the time Ziconic arrived last year. I wonder if the two boys met while there.
Peggy (N) South Georgia
Dear Ziconic,
So glad to see you and I am so happy your at Belmont with Coz. Love you both dearly.

Most people want control. If they can control something, it seems to make things worthwhile. Important people have control, and though it appears no one is challenging their power the challenge is there in silent communication. A look, a laugh, an unspoken opinion hangs suspended until its time to express has come.
Real control is in the heart. It filters out the pretension, the sham, the show, the subterfuge. Intellect takes a back seat to honor which says a person can only control for the good of all. Control by sheer force is destined to break down-and the fall of it makes a great noise.
I feel grateful to the Great Spirit for strengthening my heart…

Kathy, 1st – Happy Anniversary! I hope your and your Honey had a wonderful celebration! Second, loved your post today. It is so important. God always has a way to show us when we are trying to control everything. It’s better to listen to our heart more than to react to situations and try to control everything. If I realize I’m doing that or that things aren’t working out the right way, I try to take a deep breath, then pray about the situation. I agree about ‘honoring’ also. Thanks again for making us ‘think’ more.

I am waiting for Pennmarydel too. Seems like it might be sometime soon. Of course, it is not fair to him to expect him to be in the same class as his brother, Barbaro. One like that usually comes along just once in a family.
Just wish good healthy and safety for Coz and Zi. Can’t expect either of them to duplicate mom’s history. It will just be a lot of fun to follow their careers no matter where that takes them.
Tizgood
So very true Shirlee, it would be awesome if Z could reproduce herself, but that might not
happen. We need to ehjoy what she does produce no matter what as they are her beautiful boys and both different.

Just got notification from Equibase that Jess’s Dream had a workout today. 1/10 on a fast track. Think it won’t be long until he starts. Think Barbara is being very low key about it since Coz’s first race caused such a stir and some negative comments. With these young guys the first time out, you never know what they are going to do!

Dear Kathy.Great devotional.Hope you and Steve had a happy anniversary yesterday.i’ve hardly had a moment to visit the furbabies today.Housework ugh!All is quiet on the Dyfi and Monty caught a rainbow trout yesterday!Mr Fibbs is in the office early today and they had visitors with coloured nails that reminded them of candy.Judy put up a wonderful message about her love for Mango and how she has changed her life. The doctor has told her to rest more so she couldn’t post all the cards/letters they had.Think it was 38.Gizmo the abused foal is getting on so well now and Syke is improving by the day.Her owner was on Local TV talking about her horrific injuries.Loki has a his 3rd birthday coming up in early June and he’s excited.Have a great Wednesday.Love and hugs to you,Kisses for Holly,Nikko and Sugar.SheenaXOXO

Dear Sheena,
Thank you so much, we had a nice anniversary. Housework…always drudgery and it never stays done. You can dust and the very next day it’s dusty again! lol Monty is still a wonderful fisherman. What a good provider! Yes, I saw the post about the visitor’s nails looking like candy. So cute! You can tell how much Mango is loved. Very good-hearted women. I hope Judy is getting enough rest. Very good news about Gizmo and also Skye. I hope Loki has a wonderful birthday. My aunt comes home tomorrow. Her birthday will be on June 15th. Happy Wednesday to you, too. I must pay tribute to the mighty steeplechaser Sizing Europe whose retirement was announced today. His career spanned 9 seasons and included 8 grade 1 wins. One of those was his 2011 victory in the Queen Mother Champion Chase at Cheltenham in 2011.A horse of a lifetime for his owners and trainer Henri de Bromhead he has retired sound and well.Happy days!Have fun and thanks for the memories.Love and hugs Sheena.

I really liked and agreed with your post, Roberta. I, too, felt that specialness about Zi. I am very happy he went to JS.
I’m thinking Coz will be a late bloomer. I believe he will come along and be very good in HIS time. Hope he doesn’t compare himself with his younger brother (just kidding!). I do have a feeling Zi will race sooner than Coz.
At any rate, it will be very interesting watching the boys progress; Dottie and the Mosses have been so great keeping us updated.
Always, I enjoy all the different posts.

Very well said lin and so very true, Zenyatta has 2 wonderful boys.

Has everyone noticed the new feature here on the website? Instead of registering fan likes for Zenyatta, it looks like, from that location, we can view any and all of her races right here. Thank you Team Z for making it so convenient to get a Zenyatta race replay. Nothing is better for the soul than watching her “never give up” performances, and nothing is better for the sight than her grace and beauty.
