Happy Monday!
Zenyatta’s colts are now both at Belmont Park with John Shirreffs.
Ziconic recently graduated from training at Mayberry Farm, where he was galloping every day and picking up speed. He arrived at Belmont over the weekend, joining his older brother Coz. Dottie tells us that Ziconic has a wonderful attitude about training and is one happy horse!
We’ll be visiting the boys this week. Updates to come!

I hope John moves the barn to Keeneland in the first week in August. Then I could se them…
lauraj_cincinnati
That would be nice. I don’t think John has ever had a string in Kentucky, however.

Ahhhh, this is really neat.
Listen to Mr. John guys. Study hard.
Max alerted us about that Big Beast. Pay Beast no mind if he escapes and pays you a visit.
Lookin’ good Zi!!! Handsome boy!!!
Have a nice visit, Team Z and thanks bunches.

Dear Ann:
Too cute. Hope Beastie listens to Max and behaves himself. Love and Hugs, JB
Max
JudyB. Actually I was advising Coz to listen to John, to behave himself and not to act like the Beast. Coz instead should act like Zenyatta. I doubt that the Beast would listen to advice except from Tony. Might listen to Javier too.

Team Z, thank you for sharing this wonderful news and great photo of Ziconic!
How lucky we are that you keep us “in the loop”!
Our love for Zenyatta will extend to all her kids, grandkids, and on through the generations.

Wow! Great news today. I’m sure this is a bit sooner in his two year old year than when Coz went to Belmont, but in any case – they are both with “our John!” I remember someone writing here (a long time ago) that the only time the two boys might see each other would be when they were “eyeball to eyeball” in a starting gate somewhere. Wonder if their stalls are such that they can actually see each other now? Would be nice if they could trade stories about their time in Florida, etc. :-) Many thanks to Team Z for keeping us in the loop. ♥♥♥ Now we need some news of Zenny!
CarolinaJude
I agree with wanting news of Zenny, Sandy!
I’ve been out of the loop for awhile — has it ever been announced whether Zenny was, in fact, bred back to War Front?
With the house move in March and then unpacking in April I didn’t have much computer time at all so if it WAS announced I missed it.
Zi looks g-r-e-a-t! Looking forward to big things (and good manners) from him!!!
Sandy (Northeast Ohio)
Hi Judy,
No – there hasn’t been any announcement about her status. All we know is that Jerry Moss said a while back (not here, but in a publicized interview) that she was going back to War Front.

Thanks so much for responding to my tweet with such a quick update. Very good news! Now is Mama Z preggers or not??
Marty
This is awesome. I can’t wait to see him race.

Such a wonderful treat for a Monday! I hope Coz has filled you in on your new digs. You are looking very handsome and now you are officially in the racing world, Zi.
Thanks always to Team Z. I look forward to hearing about your visit to the “boys”.
Love to all,
Maryp

My prayers are answered. We have news. Thanks Team Z. (Now for some Zenyatta news.) That Ziconic fellow is one handsome boy. I’ve always felt he would be the winner. We shall see. Love to Z, Coz, Zi, and our Princess angel in the Lord’s meadow. You are all special to me.

That is wonderful news!! It is great that both Ziconic and Coz are with John. Ziconic looks stunning. He’s so beautiful, just like his big brother and mom! I can’t wait for more updates! Thanks Team Z! Have a great visit!!
Hugs to all,
Leslie

COULD WE HAVE ASKED FOR MORE?????
I’M AS PLEASED AS PUNCH TO HEAR THE NEWS!!!!

A huge welcome to Ziconic! Isn’t that cute that Ziconic and his brother Coz are stable mates. Ziconic always came across has having such a nice disposition. I am sure John enjoys having them both, but since Coz is the hyper one, John probably really enjoys Ziconic’s attitude.
Ziconic appears to be a smaller horse. Maybe it’s just the photo. I wonder what stable number is.
Good luck Ziconic. Looking forward to your debut and Coz’s next race.
I can’t wait to see them.
Love
Linda

Great news!! Think of what precious cargo John has in his barn! I’m sure he’s keenly aware of it as he loved our Zenny so. May all go well for both her sons. I, too, am anxious to hear if there is a pregnancy yet.
Thanks for the news and love to all!
Bluegrass Girl
Ziconic, your new life work has begun.
May you have a long winning career!
Next year this time it would be amazing to have
a Zenyatta colt as a Derby & Preakness winner.
What ever your destiny-safe trips.

It is very exciting to see this gorgeous colt by Zenyatta. I’m not sure, and I know I’m in the minority, but John??? I hope Z’s son Z will have a chance to race before the Triple Crown passes by!!! Anyway, who knows, maybe Ziconic will be that superhorse we need and be the next triple crown winner!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! He is a gorgeous horse and I definitely will be looking forward to his first race and then some. I think I’ll add him to my Virtual Stable now! Good luck to this gorgeous colt. Ahhhh, to dream.

I just want to join in with the others and thank Team Z for the update. The photo of Ziconic is great. He loos so adorable standing there. For just arriving in a new environment he looks so relaxed.
Thanks again Team Z.

One other thing. It is such great news that Ziconic is also with John.
Mary
I am so glad Z’s colts are with John. It will be exciting to see what they can accomplish. I watch some races but none give the excitement like Zenyatta gave us fans. Also no one is like her….no one dances on the track…..she is one of a kind. I love to watch the music video about Zenyatta by Liza Fly. I watched two days ago and got tears in my eyes thinking about Z. What is it about her that just melts your heart to happy tears? I wish there was a way we could see her even more. But thank you Ann and Jerry for sharing Z with us fans. In this world with it seems at times so much sadness, it is nice to see posts about Z and her colts. I love seeing the pictures of Ann and Zenyatta together……you can see the bond between them and that is heartwarming,
Margaret

Love it that both boys are now with John! But I am getting nervous about news of Zenyatta and her date with War Front. Is it too soon to worry?
lauraj_cincinnati
I don’t see any reason to worry, not if by “worry” you mean “concerned for Zenyatta’s welfare.” She’s no doubt fine. I suspect that her first breeding didn’t take or she resorbed the embryo, and she had to be sent back to the stallion. It’s often harder to get a mare in foal following a year off. If that’s what is going on (and I certainly don’t know–just guessing), it doesn’t indicate that there’s anything wrong with her health or well being.
pamhomeier
Thanks Lauraj. I didn’t really think anything might be wrong with Zenyatta other than maybe miscarrying or reabsorbing. I guess I was just worried that maybe she couldn’t get pregnant this time. Hope all will be fine.
Sue Fredrick Happy as a lark
So happy to see the boys reunited under John’s roof. Thank God they will get the best of care…..no worry there. Zi looks great and it will be exciting to see his progress at Belmont. I am a little shocked and disappointed on the negative comments about CoZ I’ve read here on the blog. So many seem to have thrown CoZ out and believe Zi is “the one”. All I can say is they are both beautiful boys and I hope they BOTH have a chance to reach their full potential.
judy Berube from Rhode Island
Dear Sweet Sue:
I love both of them equally too. Love and Hugs, JB
Max
You are right. Both are wonderful colts. It’s far too soon to write off Coz on the basis of one race. The Coolmore horses, at least some of the best of them, are finishing last like Coz. On to the next race is the response.
judy Berube from Rhode Island
Dear Max:
Absolutely! Love and Hugs, JB
Ann NC
Love them both very much.
Let’s just say, the discussions about some horses with very unique traits and commanding presence are “light-hearted”. Love and respect for the horse remains intact, always.

Great news!! No one will take better care of these boys than John!! He’s the best!

Goodnight. Happy Dreams. Z, your beautiful boys are together. Love You. Hugs, JB
Z Princess, Dubai, will always love you.

Just as I had hoped! I think it’s great to get Ziconic up to Belmont now. And maybe he can be a buddy for Coz (and vice versa). Ziconic’s company might be just the thing for his troubled bro. Maybe some of that laid back charm will rub off on Coz. Surely there is some genetic ESP between them?
Lori Stein
So happy about this, can>t wait to see what happens with this gorgeous boy! Looking forward to seeing Coz again too!
Ingrid Arnone
Team Z,

I’m going to be in NYC for the Belmont, (from Mississippi). I am a huge Zenyatta fan and would like to know if visitors are allowed to see Mr. John’s horses at the track? I saw Zen at the 2010 Breeder’s Cup where I cried when she barely ran out of track…
