She delivered a healthy colt by Tapit at 11:47 pm EST on Monday April 1. Estimated at 145 lbs, he is a leggy chestnut with a white blaze similar to Zenyatta’s. Eager to start his new life, he was standing on his own by 12:18 am and nursing within an hour.
Both are doing so very well, and it’s a joy to see how much Zenyatta loves being a mom.
Thank you to all of the fans who have been following The Queen and sending good wishes and blessings. It worked!
We can’t wait to spend the day with little 13Z tomorrow, and there will be many more pictures to come!

Actually the cross was Gray x Seal Brown.. and it looks like we got a chestnut going gray.
Roan does not exist in the breed outside of Australia. Tapit is certainly not one.

I can’t believe her…she is just the greatest…even foaling on her birthday…how neat is that! Jerry and Ann, you are truly blessed to have such a special mare! Her babies are just gorgeous, and she looks every bit the super mom. Would love to make the trip to Ky. one day to visit. Was at the affair at Churchhill two years ago and the large painting of her was breathtaking. It was great to see the whole Zenyatta team that day. Great photos and memories.

ZENNY! I just KNEW you’d foal on your birthday. I was even still awake, but I didn’t think to check here or on Zenny’s Tribe.
I also felt you were having another colt. Of course, that’s easy to confess now that little Z-13 has arrived. But my grandmother was Welsh and I got the “seer” genes from her. Back in the day, when friends were having their babies, I had a 100% accurate track record! My other thought (as we were all pacing) was: “If it’s a colt, her’s our next Triple Crown winner.” Of course, whether he is or isn’t, he comes into the world loved and respected for being his very own, albeit brand-new, self!
Am I right? Is there a bit of grey on his muzzle? Or is that just the camera playing tricks? Like other Dumplings, I love that he has a Zenyatta-like blaze and have always loved the chestnuts. So I kind of hope he stays gold!!!
Congratulations to the Mosses and all @ TEAM Z (Kentucky & California). What a delightful coincidence to have a true namesake in this little guy.
Of course, being the aunties & uncles we all are, we mustn’t forget about Z-12 because he’s already special and will, with Rachel’s babies (not to mention others born over the last 2 years) be lighting up the turf very soon!

Good morning to the most beautiful Queen of all and to her most Handsome colt by Tapit, good morning Z nation family, Team Zenyatta, the Moss family, Prince, and Lanes End, this is a wonderful day and last night, I slept like a baby out of sheer Joy after I heard the news. Has Prince ZB been told of his brother, Prince ZT? am sure he’ll be kicking up his feet all day from joy.
Most importantly, we give thanks to Our God, who ensured the successful and uneventful birth of Prince junior, to Him be the GLORY. It is well.
