She delivered a healthy colt by Tapit at 11:47 pm EST on Monday April 1. Estimated at 145 lbs, he is a leggy chestnut with a white blaze similar to Zenyatta’s. Eager to start his new life, he was standing on his own by 12:18 am and nursing within an hour.
Both are doing so very well, and it’s a joy to see how much Zenyatta loves being a mom.
Thank you to all of the fans who have been following The Queen and sending good wishes and blessings. It worked!
We can’t wait to spend the day with little 13Z tomorrow, and there will be many more pictures to come!

I’m SO, SO excited!!! Team Z thank you so much for the official announcement, and 2 pictures within 3 1/2-4 hours after Z13’s birth! He must be a really strong and healthy colt to be standing within 30 or so minutes after his birth, and nursing within an hour. And like with Z12 Zenny seems so attentive to him and you can see the love in her eyes for him.
Can’t tell absolutely if he inherited the family ears, but it kind of looks like it. I just don’t know yet if they are as big as Z12’s were when he was born ;o) Don’t get me wrong … we love those ears. Zenny has them, her dam has them, her half sister Ebby has them and Z12 has them!
I think a lot of Zenny’s “peeps” were hoping for a filly, but I was rooting for another colt because people were already talking about wanting to see Z’s future filly race against Rachel’s filly. Each should be able to be their own individual instead of being compared against the other … that’s my humble opinion.
I know he is a chestnut, but someone mentioned last week in a forum post that if a foal is born without dark pigment around the eyes and lightening around the nose and muzzle that they may turn out to be a gray as the foal gets older. That would be nice if Z13 turned out as a gray, but I’m gonna love that boy as much as his brother no matter what color he is!!!
I can never thank you enough Ann and Jerry Moss for letting us share in your love and joy of Zenny. She is one of a kind, and you’ve let all of us Zsters feel like we have a little piece of her because of the way you’ve shared her with us! May God continue to bless you for your generosity in all that you do!!! And, may God continue to bless and watch over Zenny and her offspring for the happiness they bring to so many people!!!
p.s. Can’t wait to see the first picture of Ann snuggling with Z13 like she did with Z12 ;o)
