Happy Friday!
Zenyatta’s first filly was weaned last week. Everything went well, and they are both happily adjusting to independence. Z Princess, now in a new barn and paddock, is quite at home with her familiar group of foals. We’re excited to see this little one grow up!
Meanwhile, Zenyatta has been relaxing with her fellow mares and even hosting some special guests. A crew from NBC came to visit The Queen yesterday. We don’t want to give away any secrets, but we can share this cute shot of Zenyatta giving them some help!
Enjoy!

good to hear, thank you and love you all

Thanks so much to everyone for the wonderful pictures of Z and ZP! I have been concerned for Z since she was not bred this year that her and her BFF Life is Sweet are together. Love and companionship are so important and I really hope that they are together. Please let us know, we have been following their friendship since their racing days and many of us are concerned for her. I cannot wait to see the various stories that have been done in her honor, and to see how Ziconic is doing in training,

We cry because we feel unhappy and unloved. We cry because we care. We cry because we hurt, but more than that, we cry because we are unwise. These are the tears that make more tears. Enough di ga sa wo s di! Enough tears! Most of the time we try to have as few tears as possible, but they are as much a part of us as laughter. They can do a cleaning job that nothing else can touch. But like everything else, it can be overdone. Emotional people are usually caring. And if either makes life worthwhile or keeps it in such upheaval that nothing can be positive. There is a time to laugh and a time to cry. We have to remember that enough is enough and try to balance our approach to living.
I heard…that I should be like a man without a country. I shed tears.

Dear Kathy.I am very emotional, cry at almost everything.I do find tears cleansing. It’s cleared here after overnight rain but Ascot and Newmarket are dreary and rainy now. It’s very difficult to put Hovis’book down once you start reading it,don’t know if you saw my message further up but Karen had a difficult birth.Lily has her mother’s fighting spirit.Poor Fubu didn’t behave very well at the vet’s yesterday(who can blame him)he wasn’t very well when Kimberly got home from shopping and his mouth was VERY sore so he had some shots, did’nt even want to go to petco!!Mango finally got her bath and a haircut. She’s going to get into trouble with her phone calling Brutus and ordering elephants for her party. Her mum certainly knows how to ride a bike! It’s great that Buster and Harry/freeway have become friends, they both had such a difficult start in life. The elephant video was very touching and to think,as we speak, thes amazing creatures are being mercilessly slaughtered!Hope you are off work today.Love and hugs to you,Kisses for Holly,Nikko and Sugar.Sheena.
sheena.davies(wales)
Dear Max.Noble Mission is running in the Champion Stakes. He had a gallop at Kempton which pleased Lady Cecil and connections. He will try to emulate his ever-so-slightly more famous brother Frankel!Come on NM you can do it!!!!He’s a very fresh horse, has’nt raced since July.I believe Silver Max is running tonight, remember last year!Free the Moose!Sheena.
Max
Sheena. Heard that. Australia is down for that race too? Lots of competition, but you never know what might happen. I would have to see a win for him and Lady Cecil, and Kind.
Free the long suffering, sort of, Moose. Let the Moose go free.
Kathy
Dear Sheena,
I’m quite emotional, too. Especially if it involves animals! Sounds like Hovis’s book is a must read. I didn’t know those details about Karen. Poor Fubu. Worry on his behalf is always close to the surface. How much can that poor little guy stand? Mango is such a dear little dog. Love the stories we learn of her and her family and friends. Still have to watch the elephant video. They are truly amazing and their slaughter is just heartbreaking. Yes, I’m off today and tomorrow. Two days in a row! Woohoo! Enjoy the weekend. Love and hugs from me, kisses from Holly, Nikko and Sugar. Kathy.

Godspeed to Danny and Johnny V. Danny, try not to be too rough on Johnny! Safe trip to all the horses and a good second to Grand Arch!
Rosie and Vicar are going to be in the Indiana Derby. Unfortunately, post time is 9:30 pm. Too late for my old bod and aged eyes to drive home. Hope all goes well with them.
No TV coverage of the races here in Indy today so I am counting on you all to post results.

Thank you, Team Zenyatta, for letting us know the progress our sweet filly is making in her growth. From the photo above it looks like she is adjusting happily as nature has planned. She is beautiful and of course, so is her wonderful mom, our Queen. I feel so satisfied and happy you are continuing to allow us these glimpses into the lives of Zenyatta and her foals. From deep in my heart, here in Texas, thank you.

Dear Max.Controversial decision by the stewards in CDA’s race,he passed the post first but was demoted to 5th place for causing interference.Better news from Gowran Park where Sizing Europe won his 4th PWC champion Chase! Free the Moose!Good luck to Dan!Sheena.
Max
Sheena. There is no escape from the tentacles of the beak, or in this case le bec. CDA however will run again. Maybe Ascot.
CDA must be free. Moosie, same for you.
Sizing, congrats to you.
Kick butt, Dan.

Dear Ann, Jerry, Z Team
Absolutely beautiful picture of Z Princess. So happy the weaning is going well.
Thank You so very much for letting us be a part of all of their lives.

Dear Ann
I had a special request I wanted to see if you could think about. I wanted so much to ask. Is there any way that the Zenyatta Shop could possibly do a Z Charm. I absolutely love the stretch bracelets that are so popular now. (I saw you wearing some on your arm on one of the former blogs) I noticed them right away. Just Gorgeous.
Yesterday a customer came into the bank and she had on three and what was so neat she had the most beautiful white I believe Ivory cross charm on one of them. Just gorgeous. And I asked her immediately, Where did you get your bracelet.
So that immediately started me to wishing Oh My Gosh I sure wish we could have a Z Charm. With maybe a little ring clasp. We could change it from Bracelet to Bracelet and we could always have Z with us. Gold or Ivory or oh the possibilities. Gold would be pretty with a large pearl one.
Yesterday I got a small Neiman Marcus Catalog in the mail and wouldn’t you know it, a page of exotic stretch bracelets and with charms. We want even talk about those prices. Would not pay those prices and I’ld rather help the horses.
Is there anyway you could think about a Z Charm for us in the future. Would so cherish it. Love all of you and all Zenyatta’s family
.
Peggy (N) South Georgia
Ann,
On the catalog page it was so ironic. The heading Read
She wants to live in the NOW AND ZEN, on page 9 of the little catalog. So ironic
Max
Peggy. There was some hope a long time ago that the Z pin which Ann Moss wears would be made and sold on the website. Still waiting on that one. A charm would be good too. It would make a nice gift.
Free the Moose!
Peggy (N) South Georgia
Dear Max
Yeah, I so hope they will bring some of these to the shop. Will keep wishing
Dan, Ring Weekend, Gold Ships coming soon. Can’t wait.

Can’t wait to see if Zenny is going to have a TV special, on around the Breeder’s Cup!
Thanks Team Z, for the wonderful posts and latest news.
Sending warm thoughts, blessings and love to all of you out there! And special blessings to Queen Z and all of her children! :) Be well everyone!

Deb E.
I have a sneaking suspicion that NBC Sports is doing a feature on Our Queen in recognition of the 5th anniversary of her legendary victory in the 2009 BC Classic. I can’t believe it’s been 5 years already! And, of course, Zennie MUST have final approval on all publicity and camera angles; she always wants to look her most gorgeous for her millions of fans!
Princess Z, welcome to the next stage in your young life! It looks like you’ve handled it just like your Mom Z did, impeccably and perfectly!
Sally Blank
That would be awesome Deb
Debbie G/Kentucky
I think you’re right, Deb E. It is hard to believe that it’s been five years. I still have the race on my DVR and watch it every now and then. It still gets me excited and teary eyed.
Best of luck to Princess Z in her new life as a weanling! I’m sure she’ll do everything perfectly, just like her mom. I love the picture of Zenny and the cameraman. She’s still a superstar and she knows it!!

AAAWW Z princess is weaned. She is definitely growing up. What is Z going to do with her time now that her filly is elsewhere! They used to ask me and probably any one else who became and empty nester or otherwise has retired from work the same question. There is always somethin’ to do!!!
Miss Personality is Miss Curiousity as well and gorgeous in both ways…..Z your too cute.
hugs, Sally B
Love you Zenyatta and your young too!

Dan kicks major butt. Wins the Shadwell. Amazing win from last.
Marshall (NC Broad)
Max,
What a race! Danny Boy really put ’em away! From last to first — like someone else we know, huh?
I am SO excited! Love WD! Brilliant Dan just keeps getting even MORE interesting!
Cheers and Big Hugs
Max
Marshall. That race was maybe the most exciting yet. One terrific horse.
shirleeinindy
Max,
It showed up on TV here. There was nothing in the sports listings this morning about it. Dan really showed them that he is The Man. Not bad for Grand Arch too.
Loved that his owner said “no” he was not running in the Classic. Would be great to see him get a 3rd Turf Mile.
Max
Shirlee. You called it perfectly.
sheena.davies(wales)
Dear Max.Just saw Wise Dan’s race!Great win! Many, many congratulations. He certainly did kick butt!Free the Moose Sheena
Max
Sheena. Uncle Johnny said that Dan decided how to run that race, not him. It was incredible. Dan was just toying with those other horses, all of them good racers.
The zebras will be cheering tonight, and that lady Clydesdale.
Free the Moose! Learn from Dan.
Ann NC
Dan thinks outside of the box. That is why he is The Most Intersesting horse in the world.
Ahh, the interview with, Charlie made me cry. Love all of them!
Max
Ann NC. Dan is the most interesting horse in the world. He always takes a side glance at the stands in the stretch run, and then he takes off like a rocket to show them how it is done. The rest of those horses today were tearing away in a lather, but our Danny was serene as if it was no effort at all. Tea with the Dalai Lama must work.
Vicki B. near Hollywood Park
Max and Sheena, and Judy B. (and many others) I just don’t get here as often as I used, especially now that I’m taking care of my rescued pitbull “Baby”. She has put on weight, since her lean days on the street, and I let her eat whatever she wants. Scrambled eggs for breakfast today. Cooked chicken liver, she doesn’t like it raw. Still looking for a home for her, I will have to take some time off work, to phone rescues.
But anyway, when I do get here about once a week, I so enjoy your comments on the races — I am rooting for Wise Dan even when I don’t know what he’s been up to lately. Free the Moose!

Dear Vicki B:
So good to see a post from you. My gosh, Baby has found the right foster home with you. Hope she remains lucky and finds a permanent home as wonderful. Love and Hugs, JB
