Happy Friday!
Zenyatta’s first filly was weaned last week. Everything went well, and they are both happily adjusting to independence. Z Princess, now in a new barn and paddock, is quite at home with her familiar group of foals. We’re excited to see this little one grow up!
Meanwhile, Zenyatta has been relaxing with her fellow mares and even hosting some special guests. A crew from NBC came to visit The Queen yesterday. We don’t want to give away any secrets, but we can share this cute shot of Zenyatta giving them some help!
Enjoy!

Good morning Princess,
Beginning of a new phase of your life.
Actually you seemed quite independent and ready for this change in recent photos.
Zenyatta, you are such a media pro-think you are telling camera man-
“I can do your job. Just give me a chance.”
You too are beginning a new phase-a time of rest and renewal with no responsibilities.
Enjoy this time. After racing and motherhood, it is well deserved.
Thank you Ann & Jerry Moss, Team Z, and Team Lane’s End
for doing a fantastic job of keeping us informed.
Thinking of all on this highest of holy day times-Yom Kippur.
Happy & safe weekend to all who are racing!

Agree completely – this girl is mature for her age and ready. I love how she appears the ever – alert “sentinel” in the photo. Too cute!
Queen Z: You are ever the media maven! Hope someone hands that photographer some lens wipes!
A serene Yom Kippur to all who mark this time.

Wow! Queen Z certainly knows how to ham it up for the camera. She’s such a darling! :)
So glad to hear Z Princess made it through the weaning process without problems. In no time at all, we’ll be seeing her following her brothers to the track! Can’t wait to see her give the other fillies a run for their money.
Much love to Queen Z and all her family!
Hope everyone has a great weekend,
Stel

I love Zenyatta. I wish other people cared about their horses as much as Ann and Jerry Moss do!
Thank you for being responsible and respectable with these wonderful horses.

love to see Zenyatta so kind en friendly with people, showing interest in all things

Hopefully a brief visit to Santa Anita for your fans at Breeder’s Cup. Also, hoping you get to “See the Stars” this spring since you won’t have a little one to nurse. Love what ever Ann and Jerry decide and thanks so much for sharing Z and the kids with all of us. Can’t wait to see Coz take to the track and give it his best. Baby girl and Zi are also well on their way to follow in your hoof steps.

We LOVE secrets!!! but cannot wait! Your Barn 55 stable mate, sends his nickers and winnies :)

Zenyatta is by far the most amazing athlete, and a great mama..I’m so happy to see all the beautiful moments you are sharing with us. As a huge fan…we thank you. I can’t wait to see if Her offspring inherited Herr dance moves….thank you again for all the awesome pictures…

I hope Z. enjoys this fall and winter hanging with her girlfriends in their pasture and taking some time off until she (presumably!) starts dating again next spring! :-) And, as always, THANK YOU to the Mosses and everyone at Lane’s End for letting us “be a part of” the life of the most remarkable race mare ever.

So glad the little princess had this wonderful, carefree time with Mama and is now learning to be a horse in her own right. If only every horse had such a wonderful life as these do. I love Zenyatta checking out the camera.

Love you Queen Z.! Enjoy you time off, hanging out with the girls. So glad all went well with the weaning process of the adorable princess. Thank you to the Moss’s for keeping us updated and to Lanes End. You guys are the best. Keep up the great work.

OMG! NBC peeps on the ground. Can’t wait to find out what THIS is all about (and I’m counting on our getting a “heads up” about the timing so we can stoke up our recording devices).
Our little girl has moved on to a new phase of her life. She looks adorable there in the paddock (and note that we can see her looking at the camera while the others are buried in the grass :-) Lots of excitement for Zenny’s kids in the past few days and perhaps even bigger excitement to come soon at Belmont.
Rest up dear Zenny and enjoy your life of leisure for the next several months. We’re all waiting to hear who your next date will be (any of your previous “dates” would be fine with us). Thanks as always to Team Z and the Lane’s End crew for the wonderful pictures and updates. There are no words to say how much they are appreciated ♥

It will be War Front.

Oh my gosh…..I love Zenyatta! She is so awesome. She was awesome on the track and now still awesome off the track. I love how she likes those cameras. There has never been another horse like her and I am so glad that God sent Z to Ann and Jerry. They adore her and they share her with her fans. Z has brought so much joy to many people all over the US and the world. Thank you Ann and Jerry!

Z Princess you look so layed back and ready to start the next chapter in your life. And Zenny I hope you enjoy your time off it is well deserved. Thank You again Team Z for keeping us informed, and for always putting Zenny’s health and well being above alll else. I have one question will Life Is Sweet still be her paddock mate? Hope everyone has a great weekend and enjoy the races.

So glad the weaning went smoothly–Lane’s End must have the gentlest method of weaning ever. I remember the write up on how they did it with Coz and it sounded so sensible and nurturing. She looks perfectly happy and so does the Queen so all is obviously well in Z Land!!
Love the photo of the Queen checking out the camera–she certainly knows what THOSE are for!!! So cute!!
@ Judy Berube and Max–So glad you liked that second Barnaby story on the other page. He really DOES know how to train me to do what he wants. I have never known a horse so able to express his desires and so clever at making them happen!! I just love watching his expressions as his mind is figuring things out.
Loved hearing from our Hovis today—-he always “makes” my Friday!! Hope everyone has a great weekend and hope our precious Zi can feel all the love being sent his way!!
Paula Higgins
Well, the baby is on her way! I am hoping Zenyatta is going to be the focus of a Breeder’s Cup spot. That would be wonderful. Zenyatta looks to be one very happy horse and that makes me very happy.
Diane
Thank you Team Z and Lane’s End for all the updates and photos of the Queen and her family and thank you to the Moss’s for sharing their national treasure.
Marty
Wow. They grow up so fast, maybe too fast. It’s wonderful that they both have their independence. She’s a beautiful girl just like her Momma.
Barbara Wood
What a wonderful way to start our weekend! For once, I’m not 100 responses behind. Zenny does everything so perfectly that we have come to expect it. Of course it does help that ZPrincess has lots of good friends to hang out with.
I LOVE the picture of Zenny “inspecting” the camera. Too adorable for words. I would love a tutorial on what mares do during their “off breeding” years. I know Zenny likes to have a job. If the LE staff is too busy, maybe someone else can fill us in. Hugs to all.
Elaine
Thanks for the update! I am sure that whatever the NBC is doing it will be special!

Good to see that Zenyatta still has her wonderful sense of humor. I used to love to watch her push John Shirreff’s hat off of his head. I bet Zenny is going to be in some sort of special for the Breeder’s Cup. It may be the only time where we ever see Zenyatta and Tiznow ‘together’. Thank you Lanes End for bringing this bright spot into my day. Still love ya “Z”.
Shannon in Cool, CA
Thanks for the update. A big day in the Z Family’s life.
Pam
Thank you for the updates on Zenyatta and her precious little girl! They both look very content with their new living arrangements.
HMMMM, can’t wait for the NBC secret to be made public. I’m sure it’s something exciting and I can’t wait!!
I am so appreciative of every little bit of news about Z and her kids. Love them all! I’m so grateful to Mr. and Mrs. Moss and Lane’s End for letting us be a part of their lives.

That beautiful face. That beneficent expression and gentle, kind, always interested demeanor. She’s one in a trillion. I’m sure all her babies will do well, but harbor high hopes that momma’s girl will hit it out of the park. Because… Zenyatta.
