Happy Friday!
If you’ve been waiting for an update about Zenyatta’s boys, this post is for you. Brothers Cozmic One and Ziconic spent the last few months with John Shirreffs at Belmont Park. They are pictured above eating some of their favorite treats, sweet potato for Ziconic and carrot juice for Coz.
This month, John and Dottie moved the horses back to Santa Anita for the winter. We’ll let you know how they’re settling in next week.
Here are a few photos from Ziconic’s November 25 workout at Belmont Park and a couple of Coz breezing as well. Photos courtesy of Dottie Ingordo-Shirreffs.
Enjoy!

Dear Sheena,
Best of luck to CDA, hope he wins. Love to watch his races against Treve the year
she won her first Arc. He was a monster that year. Am still enjoying the AP McCoy
and Charlotte D at Cheltenham dressage video – love to watch it and hear AP say he is also retiring from dressage !!! He looks like such a prim and proper British dressage rider; no dirt on his face and wildly flailing arms.
Love and hugs
Judy Berube from Rhode Island
Dear Sheena:
Godspeed to CDA and all safe and sound. Left you a Goodnight post on Page 3. Love and Hugs, JB

I assume that the carrot juice and the sweet potato are raw. we are feeding treats to 3 horses now, Addisons honor now 9 months pregnant to Suances, Garrapatta beach who won his last race at santa anita (Anne I now have a Tiffany box from that race and I am waiting for Christmas day to open it) and our beloved retired racer, Lone Justice. They all love their treats and i just need to know are they all raw like the carrots and apples we feed our babies. Thanks John and Dottie and all team Zenyatta for these neat new tips.
I assume that all was raw

Kimberly
So glad to have the boys back in California!! Hopefully good thing ahead! Thank you for the info.
Linda
Thanks for the pics. Just wondering, tho — why on earth would you feed carrot juice to a horse with a bit in his mouth? LOLOL
Vampressqueen Sue Colvin
the reason coz may have a bit in his mouth to eat would be to slow his eating down so he doesnt inhale it like a hoover vaccuum. that was done with man o war. also, the bit in his mouth may keep him preoccupied so he doesnt bite or cause trouble. just a possibility.

Bet Zi and Coz love being back in the warm weather. Wishing them a successful 2016. There is about 10 minutes left if you have not voted for the 2015 Sports Illustrated Sportsman of the year. At 10:59 12/12 the contest is over. Hoping, of course, that American Pharoah wins.

Actually horses like cool weather, it’s the people who like the warmer weather.
Being stuck in a hot stuffy box stall 23 hours out of the day isn’t all that much fun.

If there is no one else in the whole world around you, celebrate this season. Never say there is no use in decorating for Christmas when you are alone. But it is the best of reasons-you. You are as important to the Lord as anyone else on earth.
If you have to, buy and giftwrap your own present and put it under the tree. Don’t wait for someone else to guess what you want-you do it. Keep the savory aromas of home cooking in your own kitchen, set the table and eat from a china plate.
This is a special time, so be a special part of it-music and all. If you are a joy to be with, you won’t be alone.
Have I any apology to make for loving the Indians? The Indians have always loved me.

Dear Kathy.I have treated myself to a couple of gifts!I very rarely decorate now but do enjoy cooking.More rain here overnight and localised flooding in mid and North Wales but they got snow in Cumbria yesterday! The birds are singing as if it’s spring.I saw the gorgeous tiara you gave Zoe.I am puzzled about the “new Joey”on THV11.Everyone seems to think it’s their new cat but no word yet. They think he’s a Maine Coon.Zoe had a great visit with Mr Al she was annoyed with her secretary for posting late though!Diane was teaching. He has such wonderful memories. The ratties enjoyed mobie night.I hope we get some old films on the telly over Christmas.Mango and the sissys had baths and haircuts yesterday. It’s very difficult to lose someone over Christmas.God did grant my grandmother one last Christmas day with us and she died in her sleep that night. So many years have passed now but the memory lives on.We cannot all be happy this time of year.Have a blessed Sabbath.Love and hugs to you, kisses for Holly,Nikko and Sugar.SheenaXOXO
Kathy
Dear Sheena,
Good for you treating yourself! I always keep myself in mind when I’m out shopping! lol That’s funny with the birds singing and it’s holiday time. I was thrilled to see Zoe looking so pretty in the tiara. The new Joey is indeed puzzling. I agree he seems to be a Maine Coon. He has those little tufts on his ears. Always love hearing about Zoe’s visits with Mr. Al. Old Christmas movies are the BEST. Really moves back the clock and makes you feel warm and fuzzy. Mango and sissies look so pretty. I hope they can be kind to themselves and get through the holidays okay. There is a lot of sadness out there. We have to say “Thank you, God” if we’re happy. Have a wonderful day. Love and hugs, Kathy XOXO

Hi Zsters?
Today’s devo:
Now the main point in what has been said is this: we have such a high priest, who has taken His seat at the right hand of the throne of the Majesty in the heavens, a minister in the sanctuary, and in the true tabernacle, which the Lord pitched, not man. (Hebrews 8:1–2)
Christmas is the replacement of shadows with the real thing.
Hebrews 8:1–2 is a kind of summary statement. The point is that the one priest who goes between us and God, and makes us right with God, and prays for us to God is not an ordinary, weak, sinful, dying, priest like in the Old Testament days. He is the Son of God — strong, sinless, with an indestructible life.
Not only that, he is not ministering in an earthly tabernacle with all its limitations of place and size and wearing out and being moth-eaten and being soaked and burned and torn and stolen. No, verse 2 says that Christ is ministering for us in a “true tabernacle, which the Lord pitched, not man.” This is the real thing in heaven. This is what cast on Mount Sinai a shadow that Moses copied.
According to verse 1, another great thing about the reality which is greater than the shadow is that our High Priest is seated at the right hand of the Majesty in heaven. No Old Testament priest could ever say that.
Jesus deals directly with God the Father. He has a place of honor beside God. He is loved and respected infinitely by God. He is constantly with God. This is not shadow reality like curtains and bowls and tables and candles and robes and tassels and sheep and goats and pigeons. This is final, ultimate reality: God and his Son interacting in love and holiness for our eternal salvation.
Ultimate reality is the Persons of the Godhead in relationship, dealing with each other concerning how their majesty and holiness and love and justice and goodness and truth shall be manifest in a redeemed people.

December 14 Cherokee Devotional
If a person is unhappy with himself, he is going to cause others to be unhappy as well. His house is divided against itself-and so it can’t stand, and it makes him more unhappy.
It is said that every time someone does something wrong, someone sacrifices. It almost seems the innocent have to pay because the guilty will not accept the responsibility.
And so the time comes when we stand back and let the irresponsible put down their feet. As long as someone stands for them, they will not learn to stand for themselves. The greatest gift we can give such people is to let them alone-let them find their standing place.
We should be better pleased with beholding the good effects of these doctrines in your own practices than with hearing you talk about them.

Dear Kathy. We must always learn to stand on our own two feet and accept responsibility.Oh,gosh doesn’t Monday come around so quickly and I overslept bigtime!!Too many late nights.Zoe’s daddy got her a new Mr Nutcracker!I didn’t know Judy was one of 6 children and I think dad had 18 great-grandchildren.Mango and Mattie got a lot more gifts and Abby and Shortie are getting really serious!!!Lovely new pic of Treve on her FB.I am so glad we get updates.Sad story about another Kentucky Derby winner’s daughter is it Spend a Buck am I right?8 ladies got together and saved her from slaughter. Her name is Flossie and she is safe now.Marty sent a message from Heaben and Wimbley was it asked if we all belieb in Santa paws?who doesn’t belieb!!!
Great news about Wookie his cough is better and he looks happy. If only we learned to live in the here and now like animals we would be much happier.Another terrorist related attack at a school in Paris teacher got stabbed this morning but injuries not life threatening.Attacker on the run.Remember to turtle-turtle!Have a good day.Love and hugs to you,Kisses for Holly,Nikko and Sugar.SheenaXOXO
Kathy
Dear Sheena,
Monday is always a good day to avoid if possible. That was so sweet of Zoe’s Daddy to buy her a new Mr. Nutcracker. I had no idea Judy’s family was so large. That’s good, though, they can comfort one another. Will look for Treve’s new pic. I hadn’t heard about Flossie. Will look her up. The ratties are as endearing as ever. It’s so fun to see what they’re up to every morning. I was delighted to see that Wookie is better. Very true, we should live in the here and now. So many are stuck in what happened in the past or what they plan to do “someday.” I heard about the terrorist attack on the teacher. Thankfully it wasn’t life-threatening this time! Have a good day and turtle-turtle as much as possible. Love and hugs from me, kisses from Holly, Nikko and Sugar. Kathy XOXO

Thank you Team Zenyatta for the updates on our boys. Dottie, your photos show 2 well-muscled colts with nice strides. I love your photo of CoZ and Ziconic enjoying their treats. CoZ, you are too cute with your carrot juice circle that goes way beyond a moustache!! Ziconic, how did you communicate your love for sweet potatoes? Know you both will enjoy the California weather this winter!!! It won’t be long before you both have a new half-sibling, and I am hoping for a little sister.
Take Care Everyone,
