Mike Smith is the all-time leading rider by victories (22) and purse earnings ($28,934,260) in the history of the Breeders’ Cup World Championships. The New Mexico native rode his first winner in 1982 and has gone on to amass more than 5,350 lifetime victories. Smith has won each of the three jewels of the U.S Triple Crown and was inducted into the Racing Hall of Fame in 2003. Smith took time out of his busy schedule to share some of his thoughts in a diary leading into the 2016 Breeders’ Cup with America’s Best Racing’s Tom Pedulla:

Agree with you, Sheena, that it is so wonderful to have Judy back. Judy, I will have to catch up on your news tomorrow. I’m so relieved and happy that you are back on Zenny’s website and feeling better. I don’t think Zenny’s website is the same without you and Sheena giving us daily updates.
We attended the funeral service of a very, very sweet and lovely friend today. That really doesn’t even describe her as well as she deserves. She had the kindest heart and left a legacy of love that is so inspiring.
I appreciate you both so much on Zenny’s site and all of Zenny’s fans who post here. Such a comfort to come here daily and get updates on Zenny and her ‘boys’ and human family as well.

It means be prepared, have things in order, tie up loose ends, and get rid of negative thoughts. So waiting doesn’t necessarily mean sitting around and doing nothing. It means preparing ourselves-in body, mind, and spirit-even if we don’t know what we’re preparing for.

Dear Kathy.We are ONLY 7hrs ahead of you this week!I wondered what time the Classic will be on tomorrow I think someone is mistaken on our racing FB said 10.30pm I think it will be about 1am.Songbird’s race is on at 11.35pm tonight.Fair play to Mike he is unwilling to make comparisons with Zenyatta.I hate comparing different champions or any horse come to that.It’s all kicking off over here after the judges ruling yesterday even talk of a snap election.Trouble was Call me Dave didn’t make the result of the referendum legally binding and the Liberal elitists will always rule.The ordinary man/woman in the street doesn’t stand a chance.If Parliament vote to stay in the EU it will just drag on.As someone said yesterday let’s start a revolution!I was watching a programme about your election last night I had completely forgotten about Gennifer Flowers.I was amazed to see the KKK still exist.
It promises a very cold weekend for us.Poor Mango was feeling the cold and temps were a balmy 65F!!!They have sold the house and will spend the next few months camping.
