We’re excited and honored to share that Zenyatta has been elected to the 2016 class of the National Museum of Racing’s Hall of Fame. The induction ceremony will take place Friday, August 12 in Saratoga Springs, NY.
Zenyatta began her racing career as a three year-old, under trainer John Shirreffs, winning her maiden race in 2007 at Hollywood Park. She rewrote racing history by beating the all-male field in the Breeders’ Cup Classic in 2009, becoming the first mare ever to win that race and the first horse ever to win two different Breeders’ Cup races. Zenyatta retired in 2010 with a record of 19-1-0, having won a total of 17 graded stakes, including 13 Grade 1s. She was named Champion Older Female in 2008, 2009 and 2010 as well as 2010 Horse of the Year.
We’d like to give a big thanks to everyone involved in Zenyatta’s career including John Shirreffs, Dottie Ingordo-Shirreffs, Mike Smith, David Ingordo, Jeannie and April Mayberry, Mario Espinoza, Carmen, Michelle Jensen, Frank Leal, Cheva, Dawn Hunkin, the late Steve Willard, the rest of Barn 55, and Zenyatta’s fans around the world.

Dear Max, Shirlee and Z Fans:
Found a long shot for the Derby (if he goes). He is, Majesto, a beautiful son of Tiznow. Here are two photos of him. He broke his Maiden on the 5th try and then ran 2nd to Nyquist in the Florida Derby. Love and Hugs, JB

Nice looking guy with a good pedigree. So much depends on the gate draw. According to my Bloodhorse magazine, no one has won out of the 1 post from 1996 thru 2015. Looks like #16 and #6 have produced more winners in that time period. 4 out of 6 and 5 out of 16. Chrome came out of 6 and Orb and American Pharoah out of #16.
Judy B from Rhode Island
Dear Shirlee:
Oh, yes, the draw can make a huge difference, especially in a field of 20. Godspeed to all of them; safe and sound. Love and Hugs, JB

Gardening keeps us close to the earth. When we are good planters and good caretakers, we see results-not once, but many times and in many ways. The garden we walk in more than any other is the one closest to us-the garden of our minds. What are we planting there? What we hear, what we read, what we say-these all plant ideas in our minds. Every area of life reflects the beautiful colors and fragrances of what we think and talk about-because our words plant flowers or weeds. What will you plant today?
Watch your words, they will come true.

Dear Kathy. My mum loved pottering in the garden she was told me you’re nearer God’s heart in the garden than anywhere else on earth. It’s more wintery here today than at Christmas very windy and loads of hail showers.Al,one of the volunteers, got a pic of Blue eating last night. They have no idea what she will decide to do but will most probably abandon her eggs in a few days.Mrs G has laid her 2nd egg this morning.
Such great news about Zenyatta and Rachel Punchestown begins today Vautour is running this evening.Poor Marty habbed a tiny sad I always hab a big sad on a Monday.Mango is expecting visitors Miss Donna is coming to stay a few days.Poor Ray has lost some more furiends.Did Zoe’s team win last night? There was a wonderful story of a sheepdog called Pero who left Wales early march to go and live in Cumbria. The farmer got a phone call on April 8th to say he had disappeared. He took 12 days to cover the 240 journey and arrived back on the doorstep very excited.Someone had obviously fed him on the way but how he managed the long journey is a mystery. He lives in Penrhyncoch.Istabraq is celebrating 5000 “likes” by posting some new photos he had visitors yesterday.Still as popular as ever.Have a great day.Love and hugs to you,Kisses for Angel Holly,Nikko and Sugar.SheenaXOXO

Congratulations to Zenyatta for being elected to the Hall of Fame and Congratulations to all of Team Z for getting her there and especially for taking us along with you all on the incredible journey. Zenyatta stole my heart many, many years ago and I readily became one of her adoring, devoted fans even though I only got to see her race in person one time, her beautiful win in the 2010 Apple Blossom. She always lifts my heart and I am constantly grateful for your continuing to share her and her family with us here on this site, through all the ups and downs. I feel blessed. Thank you most sincerely.

At Aintree God’s Own took advantage of Vautour falling.Today at Punchestown he proved he was the best with a finely judged win under Paddy Brennan. No luck for Yorkhill either one race too many for him the season. He can look forward to a long summer’s break now.A remarkable performance by Simonsig after 3 years off the track he was 3rd to God’s Own.Sheena

The Indians say that when the chief gets too carried away with is position, he may go to sleep one night and wake up the next morning with his entire tribe gone. The moral: don’t press your luck, because Indians don’t wait for a term to expire. This is not to say that Indians are picky; they just don’t waste any time getting thing right. If it has to be done, do it. Better no chief than a bad one. The tribe can rule itself until a true leader comes along.
No one is above anyone else. We must always consider the good of others and think about how we can help them find it. If we don’t, we may soon be like that chief: we won’t have anyone around to listen to us. We’ll be on our own. Just as a chief is not much of a chief without a tribe, neither are we much of a person without a community.
Leading us safely, keeping us safe, teach us to be like you.
-Pawnee

I, too, love the fact that Zenyatta and Rachel Alexandra will enter the Hall of Fame together. Two super fillies who left their mark. and I’m glad they never met, as each is special in her own right and hopefully will continue to be for years to come!

This is just the best news. Never a horse who deserved it more. Love you, Zenny. Still collecting awards and accolades. Hugs to all.
