Earlier this month, Zenyatta was visited by a very special fan. Ten-year-old Tiana came from California to meet her favorite racehorse with the help of Make-A-Wish.
Tiana has myeloid leukemia, a treatable but incurable cancer. Lane’s End was the first stop on her Kentucky trip, which included time at Keenland and Old Friends.
Zenyatta, always gentle with children, greeted her young fan with nuzzles. Tiana was picture perfect, dressed to match the Moss silks.
We’re so glad that Zenyatta could help make Tiana’s wish come true. Scroll down for more pictures of their time together.

It’s been a while, but I have to stop in and say Happy Memorial Day to all. We should all be so thankful to those that gave their all for our freedoms.
I love the pictures of Zenny with Tiana, so generous of the Mosses to offer her this special opportunity, hope she recovers from her illness.
I haven’t seen any info yet on whether Zenny was confirmed in foal if anyone one knows please post here. I sure hope we have a baby to look forward to after the sad loss of her beautiful colt.
I’m waiting to see info on when CoZ is running again does anyone know anything?
hugs to all and kisses to Zenny

Dear Sheena,
It’s wonderful having a Monday where you’re not turtling! Hooray for your nice weather. Loved Zoe’s pretty dress. It was nice to know Diane and Ken are keeping in touch with Mr. Al’s widow. I can see the sadness in her eyes, but I know it helps getting together with friends. We had a good documentary about the Roosevelts last year. Yes, Eleanor was very forward thinking. That was a very sad story about Harambe. Too bad about Uthopia. You have a wonderful holiday as well. Love and hugs from me, kisses from Angel Holly, Nikko and Sugar. Kathy XOXO

Hope everyone has a nice, meaningful day. Our VFW post had its customary Memorial Day ceremony this morning at 8:00 in the Chapel Hill Cemetery. The rain held off, but the crowd was even smaller than usual. “In Flanders’ Fields” is always read and is very moving.
I googled the poem, “For the Fallen”, by R.L.Binyon. Both of these poems are from World War I. I wanted to read them as part of the moment of silence in memory of all those who have given their all in defense of our freedom.
Lest we forget.

This week sees the 100th anniversary of one of the largest naval battles during World 1 the battle of Jutland. At this time Britannia ruled the waves. Both sides hoped once and for all who was the dominant force at sea but it turned out to be a confused bloody affair as war so often is.On Tuesday may 30th HMS Chester put to see from Rosyth on board was John’Jack’ Travers Cornwell.German ships steamed into the North Sea.Jack had done well in training earning the rank of boy seaman. This boy was found, still waiting for orders by his gun when every crew member were either dead or mortally wounded shards of steel penetrating his chest. He died the next day in hospital back home in the UK He was just 16yrs old. This is just one story of bravery from that battle where over 6000 British sailors and 2000 German sailors died and Jack was posthumously awarded the Victoria Cross. The epitaph on his grave reads”It is not wealth or ancestry, but honourable conduct and a noble disposition, that maketh men great”RIP Lest we Forget Sheena

Dear Z fans,
As we remember those who gave their lives for our freedom, let us not forget those who are still with us but who are affected by the effects of war. Those who have lost parts of their bodies and their minds & who must suffer for the rest of their worldly lives. They also gave up their lives as well; their lives are forever changed by their sacrifices for all of us.
I pray that God will bless them and ease their suffering.

On this day in 1970 the greatest steeplechaser ever lay down in his box and went to sleep forever. As Lord Bryon quoted about his dog Boatswain “I do not believe he can be denied in Heaven the soul he held on earth”
The soul of a horse is a great and loyal soul, quite unspoiled by the chances and changes of human kind but above all it is a courageous and affectionate soul. We,who were privileged to know Arkle will always remember him for his great courage and his fantastic personality.Sleep tight Cariad Nos Dda SheenaX

Dear Sheena,

May 31 Cherokee Devotional
Some people know how to give unreservedly-not once or twice but over and over again. They never consider whether someone is deserving or not. A friend is a friend. It is enough. How good it is when one person goes out of the way to bless another-for no particular purpose other than to make someone happy. Sometimes such effort is shunned or ignored or thought unimportant, but love cannot be overlooked that easily. Without love, what would the world be? We need to say thank you to these special people in our lives. When someone refuses to see our faults and continues to love us and be a friend, how can we be anything but blessed?
You and your brothers press on, let nothing discourage you.

Dear Sheena,
Happy Tuesday. Today sure feels like Monday…I wonder if I should turtle??? The FB furbabies I’ve visited are all okay. Looks like the ratties all got baffs yesterday. Zoe had an exhausting day at the cemetery and a rehab center. She looked very warm, plus she was dressed up. Maybe Mommy gave her banilla ice cream. Have a good day. Love and hugs from me, kisses from Angel Holly, Nikko and Sugar. Kathy XOXO

Dear Kathy.Back to work for you!Sunny day in Wales but torrential rain in the SE of England.Indeed, it can be hard to find someone who loves you warts and all.Gosh, justice for Harambe has over 117,000 “likes” now.Someone said the mother Michelle Gregg was on social media when the little boy went missing and that she has been in trouble with social services before. So many parents need to accept responsibility for their children’s behaviour.
Loved the video of Mouse the pom Dexter looks so well behaved!I haven’t been on Zoe yet I saw that Milo had a baff and on a holiday Monday too!Commemorations have been taking place today for the battle of Jutland. The Duke of Edinburgh was advised not to go a cold I think but the Princess Royal and her husband are there.Hope you have a lovely day.Love and hugs to you,Kisses for Angel Holly Nikko and Sugar.SheenaXOXOThe “bobs” were being well fed when I looked in. It’s Alwyn’s birthday 65 yrs old.

Thank you to the Mosses and Lane’s End Farm, and Make a Wish for making this child’s wish come true. Little girls love horses and this pretty little child chose Zenyatta as her wish. How special is that? Zenyatta is such a kind horse and appears to do well around children.
Can you update us on Zenyatta’s condition? Is she in foal. Would love to know if we have something to look forward to next year in April. Thanks.
