    The world’s richest race day, worth $30m in prize money, will be back on Saturday March 26, 2016. Meydan Racecourse operates a full season of racing including Racing at Meydan meetings and the Dubai World Cup Carnival, which run from the end of October to the end of March.

    Zi before april1 you are juvenile foal, your bones and joints are growing, your back and neck are very tired after you pull up after breezing on full gallop speed, Zi when no workouts or race give time to your back neck and legs quietly to rest and to grow

    Sheena,thanks for the post about Fast Mark,”Markie” son of Secretariat living at Bright Futures retirement home in Pennsylvania. I was so touched that his jockey contacted the manager and asked to be reunited with his old friend.Although Markie had a reputation for leaving jockeys on the dirt,he was well loved by jock Elridge Lindsey and is still full of personality.
    Judy,will appreciate this,now adays he pulls the tales of horses and makes a game out of it. Great article on him at Off the Track Thoroughbreds by Susan Salk and adorable photo.

    “Frosted”, Oh wow. I am on Cloud Nine too. What a great race. So proud of you. I hope one thing too that you got your “Nap” after that race. A well deserved nap it would be.     Saw the race this morning. Frosted was awesome! A little rank in the beginning but sat back in 2nd until it was time to go and boy did he go!.

    Happy Birthday Fast Market. You look just like your daddy! Beautiful boy.

    Mr. B has put the brakes on Dortmund again. He’s just not ready. Thank you Bob for taking such good care of this beautiful, BIG, Big Brown colt.

    Dear Kathy.I have been known to pout on occasions I’m afraid!Poor Hovis life is so unfair and the tractors!Wait until he sees the yellow perils they are all blooming in Wales.There was a story trending on the horseyFB’s about Smokey very healthy horse in his 20’s his family were going to euthanize him because he developed Alzheimer’s but he has been rescued now.It’s back and mild again have heard there is a lot of sno in Boston 8ins.Hope you are enjoying your lovely temps.Wimbley is better and back on the campaign trail.New Hamster here we come.Such a wonderful story about Maggie helping her young owner and how she guided her to a firestation when she felt faint.Katy bug’s birthday is coming up soon and they are hoping for cards from every state,Dr Jill’s new surgery was officially opened.Great place for little crittersHope all went well with the specialist yesterday and you are completely healed.

    The death has been announced of Green-Green Desert a son of the famous Green Desert out of an Alydar mare.He failed to recover from an infection and was euthanised aged 25yrs.His career was transformed when gelded and trained by Oliver Sherwood and Paul Nicholls.He was a real character and was known to bite.His best friend was a pigeon who sadly was killed by a fox.Desi developed a life long hatred of them.RIP much sympathy to Vikkah his carer.Sheena

    Hopefully this comes through.I have never been one to shy away from the dark side of this industry.Press Exclusive was racemare she won over $400,000 in her time.She had 9 foals.Of course she was by then past her sell by-date.You can most probably guess the rest… But she was saved by Mindy Lovell and is now a fine healthy mare again.This all happened in 2013 how many more Press Exclusive have there been in 3 years.We love horses and cannot shut our eyes to this cruelty.Sheena

    Favored Danzing Candy made short work of eight rivals and established himself as a serious Derby contender in taking Thursday’s $58,000 allowance feature by 5 ¾ lengths while covering a flat mile under Mike Smith in 1:36.73.
    Breaking from post position six, Danzing Candy, who is conditioned by Cliff Sise, was hustled to a contending position by Smith, made the lead approaching the three quarter pole and then opened up on his competition turning for home, winning in-hand in only his third career start.

    February 6 Cherokee Devotional

    Sometimes we smile as we remember the fragrance of a flower, the beauty of a sunbeam, the elegance of a strain of music, or the wonder of birdsong in early morning.
    How rich we are in memory! What wealth we can cull from what once seemed unimportant! Surely this is all we shall ever need. Good memories dissolve old dead unhappy thoughts. What’s left is the “cream,” the rich and wonderful memories that feed our hearts and make us smile. What a gift-they are there for us to enjoy over and over in the silence of our own mind.
