I am still on cloud nine with Frosted’s win today, way to go beautiful boy!
Sheena, thanks for the post about Fast Mark,”Markie” son of Secretariat living at Bright Futures retirement home in Pennsylvania. I was so touched that his jockey contacted the manager and asked to be reunited with his old friend.Although Markie had a reputation for leaving jockeys on the dirt,he was well loved by jock Elridge Lindsey and is still full of personality.
Judy, will appreciate this, now adays he pulls the tales of horses and makes a game out of it. Great article on him at Off the Track Thoroughbreds by Susan Salk and adorable photo.
“Frosted”, Oh wow. I am on Cloud Nine too. What a great race. So proud of you. I hope one thing too that you got your “Nap” after that race. A well deserved nap it would be. Will never ever forget the video of you that NBC did last year with you falling down in your stall after your race to rest. Just so endearing. Love you our beautiful boy.
Congratulations too all your connections and the great ride by William Buick.
Sheik Mohammed I’m sure was very proud of you.
As you can imagine Hovis is NOT Happy with his new hairdo!!!If only mother hadn’t beasted him for over an hour in the school he wouldn’t have got so sweaty and there was tractor nearby!Safe trips to all horses and jockeys over the weekend and, yes,it does forecast rain for our big meet at Flos Las!Sheena http://www.horseandhound.co.uk/blog/hovis-friday-i
Thank you for our update. Poor Hovis. I know this new “look” does not meet with his approval, but he is looking VERY sleek. As they always say, “It will grow out…” TGIF everyone, and enjoy the weekend ahead.
Notice the characteristics of gentle people, those who are not poised to react to every negative situation. They don’t sulk or pout, and they truly want to help whenever they can. Gentle people entertain no animosity or feel any glee when someone stumbles. They do not give up on loving and caring deeply-nor is it their nature to push or control. They don’t treat others as though they are bugs caught under a glass
Sometimes we try too hard to be everything to everyone, and it is not possible. Gentle people help where they can, but they do not demand results. They allow peace. They appreciate others who give so much, for so little.
The true human is someone who is aware, someone who is, moment by moment, totally and completely merged with life. He is a listener.
