I will always enjoy seeing pictures of you – you are and always will be my most favorite – we have loved you since we watched you run in your first race at Hollywood park – and you have been in our hearts since that day – my husband and I were lucky to have met you before you left for KY – we never forget about you – never will – lots of prayers and best wishes to you always – thanks to your human friends for letting us share your life – especially your dear owners – two of the best people ever – with our love always to the best horse I have ever seen in my 57 years – love you Zenyatta!! monica and jim

Queen Zenyatta, you look happy and healthy with your growing abdomen. Could it be you are carrying a lovely filly?!?! Of course, a healthy colt would be ok too.

    When we do something to excess-whether that be eating, drinking, or anything else-and say we cannot help ourselves,we’re just giving an excuse. In reality we simply have not worked on controlling the things that drive us. People and organizations have made millions by telling us they have the answers to our dilemmas. They promise that their pill, book, exercise plan, or whatever will easily solve our problem-or they’ll give our money back. Does anyone ever stay with such plans long enough to see it work or have money returned?
    We need to look at the issue of control in our lives. Is there anything beyond our control? Yes, there is, but there is nothing beyond the control of the Spirit. If you do not know the Spirit, you cannot know control. Turn to the Spirit, for the Spirit never fails. Let yourself experience the power of the Spirit.

    We may quarrel with men sometimes about things on earth, but we never quarrel about the Great Spirit.

    Dear Kathy.Oh, dear don’t disappoint me I thought I was earlier today.The gales kept me awake for a while last night.The Northerners are made of sterner stuff than us in the south.100mph in the Shetlands.Karen and Aunty Becky are trying to persuade CNSM to take part in Airfield Anarchy this year because everyone wants to see him in Lycra.Karen says she must be having a mid-life crisis by doing 10k this year!
    Such a heartbreaking video on Zoe’s page today yet so many animals are callously dumped.She certainly knew who needed her yesterday.Andy is through to the Aussie final after a 5 setter in the semis Serena is bound to win her 7th title tomorrow she is so strong.Vautour may have a prep race but will be aimed at the Gold cup.AP’s s sister is to be called American Cleopatra.Do you remember that line from the Bill Haley song about the alligator and the crocodile?We thought it was pretty cool as children.Jack O looks beautiful this morning.Have a great Friday and hope the nurses are still on duty.

Yes, the video on Zoe’s page was heartbreaking. That poor puppy, even if it was a cartoon. Some people are capable of horrible acts. Congratulations to Andy, yes, you know Serena will win. Fingers crossed for Vautour. American Cleopatra…I like that! Of course I remember, “See You Later Aligator, After While Crocodile.” Yes, Jack O is handsome as always.     I was one of the lucky five winners in the recent drawing for a visit to Zenyatta. We gave her peppermint candy, which she loves as much as Guiness. I was revisiting that lovely mare who won 19 straight races at Del Mar. The local announcer, Trevor Denman, would say UN-BE-LIEV-ABLE every time Zennie came from far behind to win. I first saw her in Barn 55 at Hollywood Park and got to kiss her muzzle. Owner Ann Moss doesn’t know this, but we have a connection through actress Stefanie Powers, a long-time friend of mine, deriving from our mutual involvement with cheetahs. Ann and I are both on the board of the William Holden Wildlife Foundation (Stefanie is president). Two decades ago we produced a short film together, viewable on my Facebook.

      Such beautiful photos of Queen and mother to be Zenyatta! So pleased to see the post by Mr. Lindburg and am so thrilled you and our mutual friends were able to visit with Zenyatta and all the other beautiful horses in Kentucky. She looks wonderful in these photos and to have been able to touch her and visit with her at Lane’s End had to be a dream come true. What memories! Thanks to Alys for these wonderful photographs. Zenyatta looks quite content.

    On this day in 1995 our beloved Best Mate was born.He went on to become an NH superstar winning 3 consecutive Cheltenham Gold cups.He died from a heart attack at Exeter in 2005.Gone far too soon and always remembered.One of the most beautiful horses ever.RIP Miss you Matey. Hugs SheenaX

    Let’s pray for one another and encourage one another to stay in the boat…and always remember that it is not our boat…it belongs to our Captain. His hands are on the wheel, He has set the course, He has trimmed the sail and knows how to use the winds for good. His compass is true, His bearings are right. The boat won’t sink! He will never abandon His post, and He will safely bring us to the other shore.

    It was 9 years ago today that we lost our darling Barbaro and this year marks 10 years since he won the Kentucky Derby – hard to believe how fast time goes by… loving Barbaro eventually led me to loving Zenyatta!

    Apparently Hollywood Park will be the future home of the Rams and possibly the Chargers. The Rams should never have left St. Louis. I was a season ticket holder with the Rams for about 30 years when they left the LA area. Before their first season in St. Louis, the team offered me a renewal of my old seat location, as close as possible. The actual price of the tickets was about what they were charging in Anaheim. However, there was also a $5,000 charge for a “seat license.” Needless to say, I did not take them up on it.

      They’re back! Who knew after all this time, the Rams would return.
      Some of my SoCal friends are thrilled the Rams may return with their old colors.
      It is sad that Hollywood Park is no longer a race place.
      I guess this will be good use of the grounds.
      Yes, I loved when sports teams discovered they could sell you a “license” to a seat.
      How times have changed!
