Happy Friday!
We are proud to announce that, as of today, Zenyatta is confirmed thirty-seven days in foal.
She was bred earlier this year to the Claiborne Farm stallion War Front. Zenyatta was examined by Dr. Holder this week, and checks out to be happily in foal and in excellent health!
Wishing sunny weather and a happy Father’s Day everyone this weekend!

Good morning all
I have been missing a bit.
Very busy with family and just other work.
Seems I have missed much.
TC you are the best love the joke.
Trina not just one but to poems. You are the poem queen. Both are so special. Happy Birthday to Sharon and Liddy.
Zenny supporters all please keep in mind that stupid people always have something to say. We don’t have to listen. The Mosses are mistreating Zenny yeah right haha !!
I am not sure what more I have missed but I love you all and Freddie you are always in my heart. Sue

Makes no sense to me. PLEASE breed her to AWESOME AGAIN! LOVE the ‘fight’ in his babies and his pedigree and conformation is a great match. Might have another Awesome Gem, Game On Dude or Paynter, imagine that, or better. Names are great too; Awesoem One More Time, Awesome Zen, Awesome Z.

Cute post, Sue! Thanks for your kind words. Best wishes to you and your mom. I know she’s going through a rough time medically now. Hugz.
Sue Fl CPRC "COZ I Can" 2015
Mom was at the doctor today and the doctor is trying a iv wash now after mom gets her shoot the day after chemo. The shoot is to build up the white cells but it has been kicking her but. We hope this idea of the iv fluids will help her feel better. July 2nd is chemo number 4 and then only 2 more after that. love you Trina
Terry Crow
Sue-God bless you and your mother at this time.
Poor zenny
Every chance she gets she’s pregnant. I’m sure she loves being pregnant every second possible. Yes it’s not for money right it’s because she wants to have foal after foal. What a stupid business
Barbara Wood (Texas)
And what would you expect her to do? Sell programs at the track? She is doing what horses in the wild (whom we are trying to protect) do. She just has more care, more love, more protection, and more access to top medical care than they do.
Sue FLCPRC
:)
Louise Castello
Well, we know for sure she would sell those programs perfectly, just like everything else she does! LOL

Amen, Barbara W.!!

SusanL, I saw the article on Rachel that brought tears to my eyes. What a wonderful horse. Then I signed on to the ZBlog and saw Zenyatta’s wonderful serene face. What a way to start my day. Zenny just looks so content and peaceful. In her spirit I have been trying not to reply to the negative comments on this Blog.

We must remember this site has the reputation of being a loving and caring community. Good always attracks the other side who delights in “stirring the pot” and some “new” posters here are good at it. Such foolishish about “poor Zenny” are not worthy of a comment but we had to take to the keyboard and say all horses should be cared for as lovingly as our beloved Queen. To those who don’t understand our connection to her and her team, as well as this Zenyatta community, it would be wise to read her bio and watch some old and new videos …you too just may be touched by the magic that IS Zenyatta.

A Horse’s Prayer
My people are so precious, Lord
I know You think so, too …
And I believe You put me here
To love them just for You !!!
They take such gentle care of me
And have such tender hearts …
Please use me, Lord, to comfort them
Whenever teardrops start.
They face a lot of adversity
As they live and work each day…
They need me, Lord.
To make them smile
And to show them how to play
and have fun !!!
The world is full of people,
But sometimes real friends are few ….
Please let my love and loyalty
Remind them, Lord of you.

Wondered if he had trouble with the soft turf or got confused going into the uphill? Bless his heart….I just knew he was going to win this, so I’m disappointed and sad for all his conncections – they are the best. He is safe, though and ultimately that is what really matters.
SusanL
Celeste,
There was a video of comments from AK exercise rider to Barry Irwin BEFORE the Queen Anne, the rider said that when he worked up hill he was tending to slow down at the uphill and he had to be urged.
Looked like he broke from the gate at RA fast like a US horse, Euro’s usually don’t break that fast, wanted to go to the lead to fast (rank). JV got him to settle in fifth, next to Declaration of War interestingly enough. When the up hill started he had no “petrol” left, may be the travel got to him, may be he did not like the pace (slower), maybe he had had enough of the Uphill running or maybe he wants to meet the girls???? Also not sure AK has a really good turn of foot
at the end of the race, he has more of sustained acceleration. Declaration of
War had a huge fast turn of foot that propelled him home. Euro’s tend to have
a great turn of foot at the end, their races are slower at the beginning and fast at the end. Wise Dan and POE have a great turn of foot. Think that is why Wise
Dan was able to beat AK in BC Mile. Ground was good on Euro standards which would not affect him at all, like racing in the US.
HAVE A GOOD TIME WITH THE GIRLS AK !!!
HOPE GM GETS ANOTHER ONE LIKE HIM; HE IS AN AWESOME TRAINER.
Max
Sorry for AK, but the winner, Declaration of War, is a US bred, son of War Front. Where elsewhere have we heard of War Front?
tony
It appears as if Dottie has picked the right mate for Zenny again.

Dear Peggy, Sheena, Celest, Max, Tony, Keta and Z Fans:
Not AK’s best; hope he came out of the race in good shape. Love that beautiful boy.
Well, Z Team certainly made a wonderful choice in War Front. Love and Hugs, JB
Max
JudyB. Team Z never puts a hoof wrong. Jerry Moss has been making the right decisions on horses for decades. It’s rather tiresome to hear others second guess horsey experts like the Mosses.
judy berube from Rhode Island
Dear Max:
I agree with you, Team Z has made great decisions for Z. War Front has been extremely successful as a stallion of winners; War Command and Declaration of War the most recent. Great choice.
Did you see the post by Debbie G. (I think it’s on Page 9 of the Blog). While going by Lane’s End during her visits to the farms, she saw a Gray in the paddock with other horses. She stopped thinking it might be TT. The Gray came over and the name tag was indeed Tasty Temptation. No foal with her. Wonder if she had a similar experience as last year. Hope it’s that and not the loss of the Unbridled’s Song foal. Hugs, JB
Max
JudyB. I saw that post about TT. Hoping that her new foal is okay. Tasty just might not be the mothering kind like Z. Her first foal was a handsome little guy. Watching to see if Lane’s End sells or keeps him.
Peggy (N) South Georgia
Dear Judy,
Yes, I hope too he came out of the race well.

I can see Coolmore having as much War Front progeny next year as they have with Galileo. War Front could be US next big sire
Keta
Max,
Meant to add that Coolmore limits War Front covers to 100 a year.
He is now 11 years old. They expect him to continue to be successful
for several more years.
Right now, he is certainly in the spotlight

Okay, there is brain fog after the early day watching Ascot.

The big problem with War Front as a sire he has been most successful
with Euro Turf horses – only The FACTOR was a big money earner for him.
Will have to see what Z adds to his gene pool !!!!

Now we can wonder was it the shadow roll which was added for this race.
Animal Kingdom still is the great horse he was before Royal Ascot.

thanks to one and all for the birthday greetings! 70 has been good so far! And big thanks and kudos to Trina for the poem! love it!
I wanted to pass along some exciting (for me, anyway) news about one of my favorite Zenny-related horses — the great, gallant, gutsy ST. TRINIANS!! You’ll remember that she almost beat Zenny at the 2010 Vanity at Hollywood Park. Well, I searched for her and lo and behold she’s residing, along with many other mares, at a beautiful horse farm, Sierra Farm, outside of Lexington. She’s had one foal (Lonhro) and was bred recently to Arch. I got to visit ST. TRINIANS on June 5, thanks to her gracious owners the Hudsons, on Sierra Farm and was thrilled to get a chance to tell her what an incredibly huge heart she has and how much I admired her grit in the Vanity. She sort of tossed her head when I mentioned Zenyatta as if to say, “oh, that’s ancient history!”
Anyway, if you haven’t already, check out the 2010 Vanity on youtube (sorry, I don’t know how to post!!) and you’ll see what I mean. St Trinians was giving it 200%.

Happy Birthday, Sharon. I hope it continues to be a good one.

‘Tweet’ is now an official word in the Oxford English Dictionary
By Salvador Rodriguez Los Angeles Times June 17, 2013, 11:31 a.m.
In the latest sign that social media is changing the way we speak and behave, the Oxford English Dictionary announced the inclusion of the definition of the word “tweet” in its latest update.
John Simpson, the dictionary’s chief editor, said “tweet” was added despite not having yet been used for 10 years, which is one rule the dictionary considers before adding a new word. But as Simpson says, the word “seems to be catching on.”
The Oxford English Dictionary officially defines “tweet” as “a posting made on the social networking service Twitter” and as a verb, it is defined as “to post on Twitter.”

dear Zsters :)
todays thoughts:
When You Carry Your Father’s Wounds
I was standing in the toy store aisle.
Frozen.
I didn’t know what to do.
It was going to be our last visit together, after my parent’s divorce. But, I didn’t know it at the time. I was a little girl.
My father wanted to buy me a toy. But, my mother didn’t want me to return home with one. I wasn’t supposed to take anything from him.
So, I told him I didn’t want anything. I was okay.
But, I wasn’t…
Jesus wants us to be free to remember-
the wounds we have carried,
the wounds we have survived,
the wounds we have kept hidden.
We can be free to remember, so that we can be comforted. And to comfort each other.
He wants to say to you and me –
I know what you’ve carried.
I’ve loved you completely.
Even back then.
I haven’t forgotten.
You can be with me.
This way.
Now.

Is it planned that Zenyatta will be bred year after year, or get a year or so in between pregnancies?
LauraJ (Cincinnati, OH)
Normal, healthy horses do not need to take a break between pregnancies. In fact, it is better if they don’t. That said, she will get a break every few years. Each foal comes later in the year than the previous one, so eventually–probably next year or the year after–they will leave her open (unbred) inorder to reset her “calendar.” All Thoroughbreds born in North America have an official birthday of January 1. Obviously, their real foaling dates differ. Generally speaking, it is desirable that the foal be born as close to January 1 as possible. Late foals are at something of a disadvantage, so many breeders will avoid breeding a mare for a May or June foal, leaving her open to be bred early the following season.
Also, a mare’s body will give itself a break if necessary. Either the mare will not conceive or the embryo will be resorbed early in pregnancy.
Louise Castello
There is a new photo of Z13 on Zenny’s facebook with a friend playing. However, I’m confused if it is really him because he looks very small next to his friend! Everyone might want to take a look. He’s precious!
