Dear BGG, Wanted to wish you the happiest belated birthday. Hope you had a wonderful day. Thank You so much for the article on Goldy. Just love her and sure miss seeing her. I hear the Breeders Cup is possibly coming back to Churchill Downs in 2018. Someone had mentioned this before, about Zenyatta. I sure (Wish) we could see these two girls again for a parade around the track. I know I’m a big dreamer, but sure love Zenyatta and Goldikova. You know, we just love them and so want to see them. Thanks millions to Ann & Jerry for letting us share so much in Zenyatta’s life.
I remember affectionately one of Goldy’s team being asked about her. They told how they loved her, but said they didn’t get in the stall with her. LOL Thought that was so cute.
Peggy,
Perhaps a parade a Churchill at 2018 BC of Zenyatta and Rachel. I would be willing to drive the van to pick up one or both of them!
Peggy (N) South Georgia
Dear Shirlee, I’ll help you drive the van too, to pick them up. So Cute. And, we could just have them Fly Goldy in. After all she is owned by the Chanel Family.

So very happy to hear the good news! Also, just received my copy of American Thoroughbred by Neil Latham. It’s a lovely book full of beautiful images, but I was a little disappointed that the names of the horses were not provided anywhere. But not to worry – our beautiful Zenyatta was unmistakable. The words he wrote about her echo the feelings the rest of us have about her: most beautiful! so special! Touches your soul! Yep, that is Zenyatta.
Received my book yesterday. The horses are listed in the back of my book. I will spend many hours enjoying this work of art. And yes, Zenyatta is unmistakable.
Good luck to your new PM. CdA looks wonderful. He’s got some new Buds. Goodnight. Love and Hugs, JB, LM, PC, HT, Cap, Herc, Frank, Bentley and all the Sweeties
Change is upon us, and change always brings a certain amount of discomfort along with it. The very atmosphere of change is charged with things we don’t quite understand. That makes us uneasy because we want to understand, we want to know. In short, we want to be in control.
When the winds of life are high and our situation seems unsettled, we begin to fret, not necessarily about the change but about how we feel. What we are feeling is a classic case of doubt. We’re not in control and control is important to us. But the fact is that we are in control of the most important factor-the tongue. When a child or a pet feels distress, we comfort them with words, and we can do it for ourselves as well. Comfort yourself gently, and then face the change that comes with hope. The Spirit is with you.
We learned that Usen does not care for the petty quarrels of men.

Dear Kathy.Wow, there are political changes over here. It’s been compared to the night of the long knives back in the 60’s.Mother Theresa has brought out the meat cleaver! She really means business.Boris as foreign secretary wait until he hits town he has insulted Obama,Clinton and Trump!Boris is pretty popular over here.George Osborne was the first to get the chop.I wonder what Call me Dave is doing today.Larry has reached over 75,000 followers now.We had’nt seen the Cameron children for years. Not a bad day here and Ceri fledged at 9.25am today!Teg was looking at her asst

Mango will be starting her long journey home the RV is beautiful.Do you remember Petrocelli living in his caravan while building his house??I remember Sir Terry Wogan saying his wife took all the bricks with her when she turned up in Dallas. They are trying to save a horse called War Academy he is running in a $4000 claimer and has been running with a festering abscess.Take a look on Bob Fredrick’s FB they got a rescue place for him and only $1000 more .He was once trained by BB and raced in the KY derby.Lovely video of Jack and Ray it is very hot thereViktor has been helping a very sad dog and he is looking much betternow years of abuse.Hope you have a great day.Love and hugs to you,Kisses for Angel Holly,Nikko and Sugar.SheenaXOXO
It’s very unsettling when politics are all wonky! Mother Teresa and a meat cleaver…OH MY! Boris sounds very Trump-like! Call me Dave is probably relieved to be out of the mess! Congratulations, Larry! Glad to know Ceri has fledged. Poor Teg. I don’t think the aliems are going to show up. Why would they? No doughnuts! Zoe is always ver PC. I don’t really care, but her song was very entertaining. Mango will be traveling first-class. I don’t remember Petrocelli. Poor War Academy. That’s so heartbreaking. Praying he’s saved. Jack-O and Ray’s videos are always great. Bless Viktor for helping that abused dog. I have started visiting that beautiful cat Ziggy. What a gorgeous cat! You have a great day as well. Friday Eve!!! YAY!!! Love and hugs from me, kisses from Angel Holly, Nikko and Sugar. Kathy XOXO
FYI — Zenyatta’s niece, She’s Not Here, will be running at Del Mar on Sat. afternoon. She is entered in The Yellow Ribbon, which she won last year. Drayden Van Dyke in the irons, PT is 4:10 eastern.
I was just looking at the photo of Zenyatta at the top of the blog. Love to look at that serene, beautiful face. I noticed recent chewing has been done on the fence…I wonder if our Zenyatta is a fence chewer? Or is it Vixana? Are they still paddock mates and I wonder if she is in foal also. Do they usually just have 2 mares per paddock? Or a small herd? It seems kind of silly to have just 2 mares in such a large area, especially since they are herd animals.
These may sound like silly questions, but remember, I raise dogs not horses!! I currently have a 4-month-old pup on 2 weeks crate rest because of a strained biceptial tendon. Poor baby is driving me nuts! She needs a paddock to run in but vet said not for 2 weeks. She just does not understand!!!
Due to a HUGE!!! misunderstanding caused by bad writing (mine), I may have inadvertently caused some hurt feelings. For that I apologize profusely. Let me be clear. When I used the term” evenly matched” , it had NOTHING to do with Jess and Coz’s previous races. I simply meant they were both lightly raced colts who both had VERY famous moms. Besides, if there were a venue for Rachel like the one here I would visit it every day just as I do this one.
Martha,
I am a Rachel fan also. It is great that here on Zenyatta’s blog we can love both of them and their “kids.” I know what you mean about Taco and Coz. They both are the first born colts of very famous mothers who have not been able to show their full promise yet.
Breaking news from France around 60 have died in a terrorist attack during Bastille celebrations in Nice. From what I hear a lorry drove at full speed into the crowds leaving a firework display then got out of the lorry shooting people The pictures are horrific.RIP yet even more innocent French citizens.God help us.Sheena

Dear BGG, Thank you ever so much for the info on Black Caviar. and so so glad to see this picture of my Goldship. He looks just wonderful. Wonder how he’s been treating the folks at the farm. Bet he’s showed them a few of his tricks. Just love him.

Hovis has had a fairly easy time it was mini-mother’s 4th birthday last weekend.Granny came over from Spain and he had fun”harassing”her.Plus Mother is looking for executive transport for his trip to Your Horse is Alive!Sheena. http://www.horseandhound.co.uk/blog/hovis-friday-i
Thank you for today’s Hovis. I got a case of the giggles which progressed to hysterical laughter from the description of Hovis following Granny around causing her to run and shriek as in a scene from a Benny Hill skit with “Mum” bent over trying to control her laughter. Brilliant! I miss Benny Hill.
We certainly do need something funny to bring us joy and respite from the awful occurrences in our world. Hovis is just the right tonic!
Walking up the summer lane late in the evening gave me a whole new perspective of the world. The hot sun was low on the western horizon and turning to see a sliver of new moon in the east, I saw the long shadows cast across the field. The dogs’ shadows made them appear to be as big as horses. Human forms were stretched long and thin.
Suppose those late evening shadows were from our inner beings. Could it be that we are taller and thinner and more beautiful on the inside? Would it prove Mama right after all the times she tapped us on the back and told us to stand straight and walk tall? I hear her “huhm” in her Indian way. Seeing our own shadow is a surprise not unlike suddenly catching a reflection in a store window as we pass by” Who is that? A poor soul? Or a child of the King? Take your choice.
The earth says, it was from her man was made.

Just read on Bloodhorse that Brilliant Speed, a son of Dynaformer died from a lightining strike evening of July 13th. He stood at Three Chimneys and was 8 years old.
Freak storms happen. and I always worry about Zenyatta, and all horses when I read about this. Mother nature despite our best efforts to predict her can take us by surprise.
RIP Brilliant Speed, I will always see nickering and wanting attention during my visit.
Thanks. I did see this. I’m sad. These big farms use Doppler to monitor the weather and bring in the horses in the event of any danger. This must have been totally unexpected. I like to think that Speed is now with Big D giving their heavenly handlers no end of trouble.
This is so heartbreaking. Only 8 years old and a total innocent — life is cruel, and Nature does have deadly force.
Rest in Peace Brilliant Speed, beautiful boy. You can run with your papa now.
Dear Kathy. My mum always told me to stand straiht and tall, really funny given my lack of height.Such sadness in Nice 84 confirmed dead including 10 children. The truck had been parked in the street for 9hours he had told them he was selling ice cream.I am amazed we had have no attacks in the UK.They had planned to downgrade their security this month. Some stupid British woman said it had ruined her shopping trip! Why not support the British shops then???A baptism of fire for Boris.Mother Theresa is visting the queen of Scotland (Nicola that is) and Call me Dave was out and about yesterday with his family and friend George.Dave was looking very happy and relaxed George not so.The family are staying in Holland Park for a few days very exclusive.
Jo Cox the murdered MP (rather forgotten lately) had a private funeral today.
There is a lovely video of Ceri’s 1st flight posted on my FB 2 short flights then a stay on the pole.Hovis is according to mum looking “feral and filthy”he needs to smarten up.I would love to see him chasing Granny.Gosh,Phil Mickelson is playing well at Troon 63 yesterday and 69 today wet and windy there today and damp here too.So glad I had a nice day for shopping yesterday.Wimbley is still waiting patiently.Mango is on her way home and Percy Pigeon was back at Huddersfield station!I like the name they chose for Black Caviar’s filly.Trouble is they have to look for a trainer now since Peter Moody got banned and decided to give up.I am late today stayed up to watch the rolling news last night. It’s always the innocent living their ordinary lives who suffer. Our enemies live amongst us.How can we call life normal now??Enjoy your Friday.Love and hugs to you, kisses for Angel Holly,Nikko and Sugar.SheenaXOXOLarry has tweeted his heart is broken. He’s a clever cat speaking French and he’s been fighting with Palmerston. Our journalist Julie Etchingham caught them and posted a video!
Horrific events in Nice. There is much evil in our world. Politics right now are like being in the eye of a storm. I imagine call me Dave is relieved to be out of the mess. Good luck to the newcomers! Wow, they waited a long time to bury poor Jo Cox. I will look for the video of Ceri’s 1st flight. Hovis’ report funny as always. That’s good it’s going well for Phil. 69 is bordering on balmy. I hope the aliems show up soon. Mango seems happy in the new RV. Percy Pigeon. Sounds like a star. I’ll look for him! I hadn’t seen the name for Black Caviar’s filly. Will look for it! We all had difficulty sleeping after all that happened in Nice. Haunting. Have a good Friday. Larry is clever indeed. Bless him. Love and hugs from me, kisses from Angel Holly, Nikko and Sugar. Kathy XOXO
Jumping up and down with joy at this glorious news!!! I had given up that she was in goal since they never said anything after they announced she had been bread to him a while back…so exciting!!! Praying for a safe and healthy pregnancy and a very healthy foal!!! ??? ??????
Good Luck Zenyatta . I love you so much I am your biggest fan . Let me win one of your contest this year Please. Tell me win your newborn baby foal comes next year !

Dear Sheena,
Horrific events in Nice. Kathy XOXO
