    So very happy to receive confirmation that The Queen is in foal. We have been waiting for this good news. Our best wishes for a healthy Zenyatta and foal as we await her fifth foal. She looks so beautiful and serene.

    104 for Effinex in the Suburban…..98 for Catch a Glimpse in the Belmont Oaks….and 104 for A.P. Indian in the Belmont Sprint.

      The filly, Catch A Glimpse, ran the same distance at Belmont faster than Deauville. She also showed her heels to the O’Brien trained raiders, Coolmore and Ballydoyle. She’s conditioned by Tasty Temptation’s trainer, Mark Casse. Her stablemate is Tepin.

        • Great photo. Ballydoyle has spirit. Reminds me of the Brown Panther at Woodbine. He bolted for freedom too. As to Catch, no one should mess with her either. She’s got Halo in her pedigree.

      Thank you from me, too! Really interesting, especially the Suburban wins by Allen Jerkens with Devil His Due and now Jimmy Jerkens with Effinex both ridden by Mike Smith, and back to back Suburbans for both horses. You don’t see that everyday!

    Thank you Sheena for the inside details of the Wimbledon winners at the ball. I loved it. And thank you for the info on the Dyfi family. They are in my prayers every night as is Zenyatta.
    Someone told me at Santa Anita today that John Shirreffs is not going to New York this summer. I finit hard to believe as he grew up in Port Washington Long Island, New York and I hope my informant was incorrect asi have spoken to John about this as I lived there for two years for fourth and fifth grades. His barn at Santa Anita is next door to Mark Glatt’s barn where our gelding Garrapatta beach lives when he is in training. He’s on a layoff right now. Have u heard anything?

      Dear Marilyn.I heard the same rumours on FB earlier this year so it might be true.He usually goes back east for the summer.I hope we get news of Coz soon.It’s a better day on the Dyfi and the family were having lunch.A miserable night for them.My father and I used to live and breathe tennis during the Wimbledon fortnight and it brings back such happy memories for me.A fantastic win for Andy yesterday.Hugs Sheena

    Is it possible for Vixiana and Zenny to still be paddock mates. I’ be been told that a barren mare cannot be a paddock mate to a mare in foal. Many people have asked me about this. Zenny does not need sadness at this time. And she loves her paddock mates. Can anyone clarify this for me? PLease!

    IT I is a very sensitive matter. Tasty Temptation rejected her first foal because she had been separated from Zenny. They become very attached to their paddock mates as they are herd animals and meant to live together with their foals in a herd.
    Please , anyone who understands this matter please give clarification. Thanks

      Vixiana may still be with Zenyatta. Could be wrong but it’s unlikely that Vixiana is in the broodmare band at Lane’s End if she’s barren. She might have had an off year which accounts for no foal at her side this year. We don’t know. As to Tasty, no one really knows for certain why mares sometimes reject their foals. There are lots of theories, but no conclusive proof. It looks however like Zenyatta is doing fine. She adapts to all situations.

    Dear Kathy.Another new week and we must turtle while the sock in the draw but proceed wiv caushun according to Milo.The doughnuts are getting eaten while waiting for the aliems to arrive!Great devotional,although I will always remain a sensitive soul I do not fret so much now what others think of me.It was a fabulous Wimbledon fortnight and fantastic to see Andy win again I think this victory will be all the more sweeter for him.He is becoming more media savvy and an all-round better person(I will always remember the gangly,grouchy teenager).The Euros final was on last night(I never watched)but Portugal won in extra time.Soon will be time for Rio.It’s pretty windy here but we are promised some warm weather next week.
    We have a new PM and Call me Dave will have to back his bags more quickly than first thought Andrea has pulled out. She made a huge gaff by saying a mother would make a better PM.A lot want an immediate election but we have fixed term parliaments now.It won’t be impossible though.Labour are still in complete disarray.She should be no 10 by the weekend.Mango has certainly been on an adventure and some bad words from her mum!!They finally arrived in Ocala last night and had to find a parking space with a flashlight.They got lost somewhere in Texas(mango had to cover her ears)Peeps on FB were trying to help by telling to use different roads but it was dangerous of Auntie Michelle to give Judy a sleeping pill.I have never taken one but I believe they stay in your system awhile.They have just about survived though.Nay and the sissys are missing them.Judy looks a tough cookie behind the wheel.They will be visting your part of the world in September.Someone in Riverside was inquiring about the trip saying you are near Hollywood.Remember to turtle in the draw today.Some lovely photos of Cirrus on his FB he still remains with Corine and is having fun.Have a great day.Love and hugs to you.Kisses for Angel Holly,Nikko and Sugar.SheenaXOXO

    Not sure how I’m going to accomplish the recommended turtling. No way can I fit in the drawer! lol And such a concern about the doughnut supply. Whatever will they do??? So much excitement at Wimbledon. It’s such a letdown when something you’ve been following so closely ends. Now what??? Rio is just around the corner. Oh good! Something to look forward to! So much happening in your politics. Everything is upside down, isn’t it? Our’s is pretty crazy over here, too. The Conventions are coming up soon. Feels like we’re riding a rollercoaster, Sheena! Why are Mango and family on this trip? I read something about they have to be at a dealer a specific day and time. So it doesn’t sound like pure pleasure trip. You’re right, I believe sleeping pills stay in the system and can make you very groggy. Yes, we’re only about an hour from Hollywood. I’ll be turtling like crazy. Will check out the pics of Cirrus.     Caught California Chrome’s last workout at Los Alamitos. Did 7 panels in 1:27 and change beating a work partner who started out about 4 length in front of him. Apparently this was his last work at LA as he is being shipped to Del Mar. Good luck to a great champion.

    Who was the fourth foal for Zenyatta. I know only of Cosmic One, Ziconic and Princess Z, who saddly left us. Z was given a year off from breeding, so who is #4???

      A colt by War Front was foaled by Z on April 10th of this year. Sadly, the beautiful baby had complications from meconium aspiration syndrome. I’ve posted the Blog announcement of his passing below. He was absolutely gorgeous. Our Queen is overdue for some good luck and we’re all praying for excellent health for Z and the new baby and a safe foaling next Spring. Love and Hugs, JB

    A retired TB called Woolhall Treasure was found dead while grazing in his paddock last Friday.The lovely grey had been shot at point blank range by a hand gun.The manager of the stables near Chislehurst has offered a £3000 reward.He was owned by Myra McKenna and he “meant the world to her”Trained by Gary Moore(Ryan’s dad)he had been ridden by Sir AP and Richard Hughes during his career.RIP beautiful boy you didn’t deserve this horrific end.Sheena

    Is it too soon to submit suggestions for names?
    A filly – ‘Fidelity’ or a colt, ‘Amor Patriæ Vinci’. The meanings of which are in keeping with the sire. USA Medals of Honor. The front of the medallion was inscribed “Fidelity”; the reverse, with the motto, “Amor Patriæ Vincit”, which means, “The love of country conquers.” I am soooo hoping for a filly!

    Dear Judy.A better day for Glesni,Ceri and Teg.Well we have our new PM.Theresa will move in on Wednesday.I hope Larry gets on with her!I was reading a lovely story about a ginger cat called Barney who lived at a cemetary and had comforted mourners for 20 years.He had lived near by but when his owners moved house he refused to go and staff there cared for him.He died of old age last week and there has been an outpouring of grief for him.People have arrived at the cemetery in tears and he will be buried in his own small plot there.There is goodness in this troubled world.Goodnight God bless you LM PC HT Cap Hercules Frank Bentley and all the sweeties.Love and hugs SheenaX
