We couldn’t be more excited to announce that Zenyatta delivered a filly by Medaglia d’Oro tonight at 8:50 pm. Both mare and filly are in excellent health.

Just a heads up about the big Appaloosa pony at Churchill Downs. On page 4 of the previous blog entry (the one about Gormley racing in the Derby), you will find the link to a very nice article by Julie June Stewart. I think Pam, Judy B. and maybe a few others will enjoy reading about “Harley” whose papa is an Appaloosa and mama is a Belgian cross. This is a new breed called American Sugar Bush Draft horse.
Many of us probably didn’t see it before the new birth announcement entry appeared. This is such a stunningly handsome “pony” who apparently has the sweetest temperament, too. His fans are increasing since he definitely stands out at the track doing his job.

As I read about Harley, was delighted to find that Harley’s owner, Monnie Goetz, ponied for Zenyatta in the 2010 Breeders Cup Classic.
