Zenyatta Delivers Her Fourth Filly

VERSAILLES, KY — (June 10, 2023) It’s a girl! There was great joy last night in welcoming ZENYATTA‘s eighth foal, a beautiful filly by War Front. She arrived during sunset, 9:18 PM, at Lanes End Farm. The foaling was filled with ease and elegance and both mom and baby are in excellent health and exude happiness. Zeny’s new filly has legs for days and sports a blaze to match her mother’s. 

In attendance were Zenyatta’s co-owner, Ann Holbrook (Moss) as well as Farm Manager Todd Claunch, Broodmare Manager Jenn Laidlaw, and with Tremendous gratitude to the veterinarians from both Rudd and Riddle and Hagyard and the entire farm staff at Lanes End Farm for their beyond ordinary incredible love and caring! Ann is overjoyed to welcome this beautiful filly to Zenyatta’s family. This will be Zenyatta’s last foal as she is being retired as a broodmare.

    I wish to acknowledge the passing of Jerry Moss and express my sincere sympathies. I saw info on fb.
    I am so glad I had the chance to meet him at a Zenyatta celebration along with Ann, Mikey, John and Dottie. As I spoke to him I realized he was a friendly kind man.
    Actually, all of them were!! I was absolutely thrilled to meet them.

    I meant to post this on Labor Day for any who might be interested and didn’t see the race.
    Last Sunday in Race #2 at Saratoga, there was a unique finish. The first FOUR to cross the wire were all Davis relatives!
    Katie won, Dylan got 2nd, Trevor was 3rd and Jackie was 4th! That has to be some kind of record.

    Zilkha worked on Aug 11, but then not for another 17 days before stringing together three Monday breezes in a row – on Aug 28, Sept 4 and now Sept 11. Today was her fourth breeze in a month, 3f in 36.60 at Del Mar.

      What a big beautiful chestnut champion he was.
      RIP Point Given; the Big Red Train is running amongst the angels now.
      Condolences to the Kentucky Horse Park Hall of Champions and to all who grieve for Point Given.
