We are so excited to announce another Zenyatta Celebration! Like the last celebration this sticker is going to be sold on Lane’s End Farm’s online gift shop and will be available starting Monday, October 31st! As always Every sticker purchased will enter you into a raffle to win a private visit with Zenyatta, and a tour of Lane’s End Farm! This year we will be drawing 10 lucky winners live on Facebook Monday November 7th (1:00pm EST)!!

This Year’s Limited Edition Sticker was designed by Nicole Berry- She has created a beautiful Pink and Navy Sticker that includes, of course, a Picture of Zenyatta.

We are excited to announce that 100% of this year’s proceeds will go to New Vocations Racehorse Adoption Program! New Vocations has a long history of offering retiring racehorses a new purpose as they enter the next phase of their careers. Started in 1992, they have focused on offering a safe haven through rehabilitation, retraining, and ultimately rehoming to qualified and loving adopters.         Have you watched the latest series of All Creatures Great and Small on PBS? One episode is about a race horse. Beautiful horse, but didn’t look like a Thoroughbred to me.
        I streamed all the episodes already and I’m looking forward to next season.

          I have been waiting for the new season of “All Creatures Great and Small” to begin. I loved the original series and love this one, too! I saw part of the first episode of the new season last Sunday night (James & Helen got married) — I didn’t see that it was on until it was half over, fiddlesticks! I will be sure to tune in at 9PM tonight for episode 2 though.
          It is sweet, funny AND good for your state of mind. 😜

      I read this article last evening, too. This is such an utter tragedy — the loss of a wonderful young man at 23. RIP Avery Whisman, every horse and human

    Dear Z-friends,
    Very tragic training exercise this morning at Tampa Bay Downs which resulted in the death of Daniel Quintero, an aspiring jockey who was only
    19 years old. Condolences to his family, friends and all connections. A very nice young man, gone way too soon.
    RIP Daniel Quintero, riding with the angels now. 💔

    Greetings!
    I check the blog every day or so, hoping for some information on Zenyatta or her kids. Nothing. Any idea why we just dont hear about them as often as we once did? Do they think we are not interested any more? Suddenly dont care? I know there is not the volume of messages on the blog as there used to be, but those of us who read it every couple of days just dont find many things we feel the urge to comment on!
    Any news on Zilkah in training? How are the boys doing? When is Zenyaatta due to foal?
    Any updates from those of you who have other sources would be welcome!!
    We have had several sunny days, although NOT warm sunny days, after weeks of constant rain. The Pineapple Express has finally shut down. over 10 inches of rain in the Sacramento area. We really need the rain, but all at once was a bit overwhelming!

      Zilkha news was posted in a DRF article this week. She is galloping, apparently she is not a sound animal and Shirreffs keeps starting and stopping on her; she did work a couple times last year before he stopped because of swelling in her hock. Of course, there is speculation on social media that he is a bit TOO soft on his horses but oh, well. She is three this year; if we’re lucky she will run before the end of the year. Or run, at all.

      Zenyatta (War Front) and Zellda (Twirling Candy) are both due to foal this year but there is no news on when that will happen. I am watching the Jockey Club registry services for a report, at this point I don’t know if the blog will report Zenyatta’s foaling, let alone Zellda’s.

      Great to hear from you, Lynn M.!
      I guess there isn’t a large volume of information to report on our girl, Z, these days due to her life style now. Hoping things are progressing normally with her pregnancy — no news is good news, I suppose. I imagine her daily activities are fairly routine, hanging out with her friend in their paddock.
      Z’s boys have separate lives now at different locales so their new connections provide updates occasionally. Zellda is “on the nest” and doing well, I trust.
      We would like to know how Zilkha is progressing in her race preparation since there have been no training works lately, but I think there probably will be an update all in good time. Fingers crossed!
      We were all quite spoiled for years with the constant flow of updates, and it is so difficult to be patient; however, patient we must be (or at least try).
