Zenyatta,
Thank you for continuing to keep us updated on your daily activities. Seems you are having fun!
I wish you didn’t have to leave California soon for your new home…I like knowing that you are just miles north of me!
I know that life will be good for you in Kentucky, too, and will keep following you to see what you are doing.
Bless you for just being YOU. You have been a gift in a sometimes glum world.
Love,
Liz
I agree Mike Smith made some wrong choices on getting Zen to first place, but it’s in the past. In my opinion, Zen won the breeders. She’s (should be) HOY!! Zenyatta brought a entirely new fan base to horse racing. Me being one of them.
Pretty insightful submit. Never thought that it was this simple after all. I had spent a excellent deal of my time looking for someone to explain this topic clearly and you’re the only 1 that ever did that. Kudos to you! Keep it up
I have recently started using the blogengine.net and I having some problems here? in your blog you stated that we need to enable write permissions on the App_Data folder…unfortunately I don’t understand how to enable it.
This really is this kind of a fantastic resource that you are offering and also you give it absent for free. I adore seeing internet sites that comprehend the value of offering a top quality useful resource free of charge. It?s the old what goes around arrives about routine.
Zenyatta, I was brought into the racing world by a famous NY Derby and Preakness winner, FunnyCide, for whom I traveled the country to see. Not until you, did my racing enthusiasm come to that same kind of crescendo, attending most of your races in California. I couldn’t get close enough to watch you zoom by the field!! And because of you, I was able to entice my friends to with me to watch the star that you are! What a thrill you are to watch, what a beautiful tower of strength and majesty. I traveled to Louisville for the first time just to see you in the Breeder’s Cup….what excitement you created; what a wonderful experience to be there for YOU! And, though Blame may have put his nose down first, in my mind you won! You ran further and had a tougher trip and still only a nose was the deciding factor. You were amazing!!
I will look forward to returning to Lane’s End next year to visit you, along with the other stars you will be keeping company with, Curlin, KingMambo, Lemon Drop Kid, Pleasantly Perfect. et al. Congratulations on being the true Queen of Racing. I’ll be among thousands seeing you off this Sunday…..may you now become the Queen Mother of many future racing stars! Thank you for all the joy and thrills and for being such a lady, Queen Z. May you live a long life of luxury and good health.
I have followed the great zenyatta since her first race and still get chills watching all of her races over and over again. I will agree that there was some jockey error;I thought she should of been brought closer to the pack earlier however whats done is done and I think the main thing for all to remember is that she is still healthy and sound. Unfortunately far too many good horses have broken down, every race run brings that risk to all horses and I’m so glad that she is not a statistic and we will be able to enjoy her babies. Zenyatta you are horse of the decade in my books
Hey Z! Tell your friends that they should let your adoring fans to come visit you at your new home! If I had to chose between meeting a Hollywood star and you…I’d chose you every time! I miss you Z, thanks for all the wonderful memories! Love you very much Zenny!
Several of the factors related with this blog post are usually beneficial nonetheless had me personally wanting to understand, did they critically suggest that? 1 stage I’ve acquired to say is your writing experience are very good and I will be returning back for any brand-new blog post you come up with, you might possibly have a brand-new supporter. I book marked your blog for reference.
Z may have lost by a nose in this race as I was there; just one more stride of hers and she’d have past Blame. I had prayed only that she would not get hurt, so she could retire and have a good life and become a mom. She is the greatest horse to race in my lifetime. Just look at all the boys she competed against, how she ran, the beautiful remarkable power and desire she had to win. God created only one like Zenyatta!! (19 wins-simply amazing)
Thank you Team Zenyatta for all you’re sharing with us. When I watched the race, I cried alot. I thought that there had to be some sort of mistake. I tuned in all the way from Kuwait to watch you and clearly you were the best horse in the field. You are the CLEAR WINNER for Horse of the Year, but no matter what, we all know you were the best horse we’ll see in a long time.
Thanks again Team Zenyatta for sharing the Queen with us.
Zenyatta, the true “blame” for your only loss is on us humans for not inventing the equine face shield with tear-off layers, like Mike’s goggles! What a ridiculous oversight on our part! How COULD we have allowed YOU, of all PEOPLE, to get hit in the face with icky lumps of dirt? Of course you didn’t know what to make of it! I bet you thought it might mean “stop”! But you figured it all out very fast, forgave our stupidity, and nearly won anyhow! (Where, oh where is my “undo” button when I need it most?)
You are so precious and breathtaking and, with it all, so sweet! I hope at Lane’s End they will not forget to give you all the attention and fun you deserve, and let you have friends over as much as practicable. You are a people-person and this shouldn’t have to totally change! In this day and age, no one expects moms to withdraw completely from their work and social lives, much less ladies who are only thinking about having babies sometime soon! You mustn’t leave us completely taking such big chunks of our hearts with you! I am sure that you would also appreciate the chance to be with all of us, since you seem to be quite interested in our species, and even to like humans a great deal more than many of us like each other! The interest of a divine creature like you in us often-awkward humans surely heals our hearts and makes us feel more hopeful and worthwhile in our world. Our smiles and tears tell us of the great joy to be had from the kind of simple and open innocent love you have created a space for us to feel in relating to you. This mutual admiration society is simply too good a thing to end for no particular reason, so I hope you will continue to be your creative self and come up with ways to keep your and our joy alive. Kisses and kisses delightful girl!
Zenyatta is awesome in so many ways, a true pleasure to follow. Her and Rachel Alexandra have been the high points of racing, – what female power and beauty. I also have great esteem for J and A Moss, the Shirrefs, Espinoza and Smith. They are kind people who know how to treat a horse and how to appreciate and carefully train and care for a gem. Isn’t that the highest compliment one can give connections in the racing world and beyond? I think so. Thank you to Zenyatta and her connections. You are all awesome.
Zenyatta’s connections are the gold standard for how ALL horses should be treated. It’s not Rocket Science to figure how a six year old mare was at the top of her game due to the care she received. My thanks to everyone involved in the great care Zenyatta had.
My opinion is Andrew Beyer is a disgrace in regards to slamming Zenyatta/connections. Last year when proved wrong when he stated she wasn’t fast enough to win the Breeders’ he never admitted error. Many HOF trainers and writers realize her amazing talents to be that of a once in a lifetime racehorse. What are the odds that all of them are wrong and Beyer is correct? lol

Why do you have AN AXE TO GRIND when it comes to Zenyatta? Get back to me if you ever see another horse that has generated the impact of the dying sport of racing like she has!
I LOVE ZENYATTA! SHE HAD IT ALL. MIKE SMITH REALLY MESSED HER UP BADLY. SHE HAD A HUGE COME BACK!!I THINK MIKE SHOULD HAVE DONE IT BEFORE THE TURN INSTEAD OF AFTER. SHE STILL DID WELL BUT DID NOT MAKE HISTORY. BUT IN MY BOOK SHE DID! :D

The same redundant, vicious attacks that you make on Bloodhorse blog and NTRA regarding Zenyatta/connections are a disgrace. You don’t have a clue what a great racehorse is. You are a stupid, classless knucklehead that does nothing but spew hate. You aren’t a true racing fan, only a jerk!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Certainly completely with your conclusions and imagine that you’ve made some excellent points. Also, I favor design of this site and the ease of navigation. I’ve bookmarked your blog and may return often!
The overhead shot of the race showed them side by side in their bodies. I think it was a tie. There needs to be a movie made of her and we need to see how she fares in her new career. Our love for her isn’t going away, she has really captured our hearts.
Zenyatta is a total winner with a 20-20 record as far as I am concerned…There are no words to describe how I feel when I watch her…she is and will always be the GREATEST HORSE OF ALL TIME to me..God watch over this miracle called Zenyatta which we all love …YOU ARE ZENYATTA…THE QUEEN..THE BEST….I LOVE YOU.
