We’re happy to share this much anticipated update. Zenyatta and her new paddock mate, Vixana, have become fast friends. Both mares are owned by the Mosses and they both trained with John at Hollywood Park. Dottie tells us that they learned to break from the gate together! This week brought beautiful weather to Lane’s End and Ann stayed at the farm to spend time with Zenyatta, who seems to be in good spirits.
Scroll down for two short videos.
Enjoy!

Oops!
Not sure what happened, but above is a response to Jan Overman’s post on the previous page (#8). I probably didn’t select “Reply”. Shucks, there goes another brain cell!
Time to sign off and go to bed, I guess.
Hugs and Love
Sweet dreams to Zenny and Vixana, as well as Coz and Ziconic. Goodnight!

Thank you for sharing these sweet videos. I felt Zenny’s breathe when she came over to the fence and kissed the camera! I smelled peppermints LOL
I’m relieved that Ann has stayed with Zenyatta. I’m still in a state of shock, and denial. The fog will lift. Every moment (event) in Zenny’s life has continued to be shared with us. Fans. Team Z could stop sharing (even during grief) but they have been so kind to let us “in”.
I usually respond to Z’s Facebook page since I’m using a cell phone. To access the blog I need the use of my laptop, hence, being slow to post here.

My dearest Zenyatta. You and your friend Vixana look fabulous. So peaceful, healthy and contented. That is all I can ask for you Zenyatta.
Thank you Team Z. I am at peace. God bless you all. Zenyatta, I love you forever my angel.

Lois is a dear cousin who has met some tigers on her path and defeated them all. She has a built-in sense of humor, which is as much a part of her as her breathing. When she was ailing, she spent some time lying on the couch, but she said there was a fragment of a cobweb overhead that provoked her every time she looked up. When she was asked if she got up and swept it down, she said, “Oh no, I got up and turned off the light.”
A remedy for every problem is available to us-and turning off the light we shine on problems may be the answer. When something is wrong, we keep it where we can see it and that makes it last a very long time. But when something diverts our attention, nine times out of ten the original irritation fades and we never quite get back to it. Divert your attention. Look at something right and see how quickly it absorbs the mind.
It is above that you and I shall go, along the flowery trail…picking flowers on our way.
-Wintu

Dear Kathy.Good for Lois.I always turn off the light when I see a cobweb too!I actually tried to do a little spring-cleaning the other day oh boy the floof!!!Life is too short to worry about cobwebs.I have posted a new pic of the Her Majesty and her heirs on my FB.She is out and about in Windsor today and tomorrow.I had a very late night the NY results were coming through Trump and Clinton did well but Mr Fibbs was the big winner!!I am just so happy we still have a monarchy.Princess Sofia of Sweden gave birth to a little Prince last night and there were 2 Americans arguing about the weights and measures!Mattie had a visit from the toof fairy she was a very brave girl.Ray is enjoying the spring sunshine,It’s still lovely here but promises much colder this weekend.Glesni is incubating and maybe Blue will lay another egg today. They can only tell by the change in her behaviour as they cannot see the nest from the Observatory.Life at Manton Bay and Lowes is positively quiet compared to the Dyfi.We don’t get so much news of Boo since the Human gave birth.Thinking of our Princess today and what might have been…Have a great day.Love and hugs to you,Kisses for Angel Holly, Nikko and Sugar.SheenaXOXO
Kathy
Dear Sheena,
The thing about housework is that it never stays done, you have to keep doing it over and over again. I will go over and look at the pic of Her Majesty. My goodness…90 years young tomorrow! All the best to her. I’m running late so can’t linger very long. Holly, bless her, was the alpha dog and it seems she was the one getting everyone up super early. Nikko and Sugar have been sleeping in! Hooray for Fibbs! His doughnut platform has really put him over the top. Congratulations to Princess Sofia on the birth of the little Prince. I hope the tooth fairy is generous to little Mattie. Ray seems happy in the sunny weather No snow!!! Things are picking up with all the ospreys. Lots of drama! Yes, Human’s baby is getting all the attention. Poor dogs! Have a wonderful day. Love and hugs from me, kisses from Angel Holly, Nikko and Sugar. Kathy XOXO

John Gosden may have a superstar filly on his hands So Mi Dar beats the boys in a Derby trial. She is by Dubawi out of Dar Re Mi and we got the famous flying dismount from Frankie!Sheena
Ann NC
Congrats to this filly, So Mi Dar. A flying dismount, yippee!
Two things my late, horse loving brother always enjoyed.
Frankie’s dismount and Zenny dancing. His imitation of Zenny dancing was very entertaining. A grown man acting like a horse. He loved you, Zenny.
Marshall (NC Broad)
Dear Ann,
Your brother sounds like he was a real fun guy, and I am sure you must miss him very much. Thank you for sharing his love of horsey things, especially Frankie’s flying dismount and our dancing girl, Zenny. He and Steve W. are looking after ZPrincess, little ZAngel, and all those wonderful creatures over the rainbow.
Lots of Hugs and Love

Thank you Judy B and Kathy for clearing up “ratties and “DC” for me. And Judy B. a belated happy birthday to you. MY 72nd will be on Kentucky Derby Day, May 7th. We are having a KD/Bday party that afternoon. Go Mohaymen and Nyquist And all the other really good California horses. Equally as interesting is the thought of an all gray trifecta with Mohaymen, Cupid and Destin!!??

Cupid’s out. You can replace him with Lani, winner of the UAE Derby, or Creator, winner of the Arkansas Derby. They’re both grey sons of Tapit.
Judy B from Rhode Island
Dear Marilyn:
You’re so welcome. That’s the way I’m going to go too; have to play Exacta, Trifecta and Superfecta. Can’t decide on who to choose to win.
Wishing you Good Luck and a Happy Birthday Derby Day. Love and Hugs, JB

Dear Charles,
Yes, it is very nice to have company. I think Zenyatta and Vixana are good friends. It is also nice to have your company on Z’s blog! Keep up the good work in Mrs. Voltz’s class, and keep in touch here, too.
Hugs to you #1 fan

Wow no more Cupid for this derby but Lani, Mohaymen, Destin and Creator. Still could have a gray trifecta!?

Bonjour Zenyatta,
What do you think of not having a baby to care for? I often wonder. Zenyatta, you
must wonder where he is.
Love those videos.
My second book came out today, and I mention you (dedication page and more) in it as well as Cozmic One, Princess Z and Prince Z.
All positive, of course.
The book is called Grieving and Loving My Extraordinary Dogs by Lise Dupont McLain. The ebook is available, and the print format will be available in a few days.
I really screwed up royally with one of my dogs and cause needless suffering to her and myself. I did finally learn my lesson though. Too bad that it happened.
Takes a while to grieve. I still grieve over the loss of Prince Z.
Lots of love to you! I think of you often. You are looking good.
