We’re happy to share this much anticipated update. Zenyatta and her new paddock mate, Vixana, have become fast friends. Both mares are owned by the Mosses and they both trained with John at Hollywood Park. Dottie tells us that they learned to break from the gate together! This week brought beautiful weather to Lane’s End and Ann stayed at the farm to spend time with Zenyatta, who seems to be in good spirits.
Scroll down for two short videos.
Enjoy!

Thank you for sharing the photos and videos of Zenyatta and Vixana. Its very reassuring to the fans that everything is going to be ok during the difficult time of Zenyatta’s loss. Jerry and Ann Moss and the whole Zenyatta team thank you for keeping the fans updated of Zenyatta’s world.

So glad Zenyatta is doing well. I hope Ann & Jerry breed her back to War Front!

I posted as California Chrome crossed the finish line in Dubai, with his saddle dangerously slipped back to his flanks…”Champions overcome obstacles!” Now I dedicate those exact words to Zenyatta, as she brings peace to us that were so worried about how she might handle the loss of her Son. I thank, and Worship, her owners for including us fans with current events. Now this ole lifelong horseman can stop the tears.

Thanks for the post, Bob, and consider yourself hugged!
I think we can make it now, slowly but surely.
Bless you.

Dear Bob and Marshall:
We have to go on for Z, the Moss’, COZ and ZI. Mrs. M is so sweet to always think of the fans and to reassure us even while she is grieving.
Marshall, you are one of the sweetest and kindest of Z’sters. Always thoughtful and encouraging to all of us. Love and Hugs, JB

Dear Judy B.,
Thanks bunches, but you are my role model, dear friend. You set the bar for all of us, and we are all grateful for your kindness and friendship. As I have said before, you are the BEST!

So happy she’s with her friend and doing better.

Zenyatta seems so calm and content to be in her pasture with her person and her girlfriend-a fun and feisty one at that. Many thanks to Ann for sharing these videos and to Team Z too for understanding the many fans who love Zenyatta too are grateful for the pictures and videos which are reassuring. I told a friend today that I hoped I could drive by Lane’s End one day, stop and touch a fence post, knowing that somewhere on Lane’s End, Zenyatta lives, loves and is loved. What a blessing that will be.

Norman’s little girl did it! Congrats to Tepin and Norman!

It’s nice to see her looking relaxed and not in distress. Vexana must be what the doctor ordered. The video cracked me up…Zenyatta went obediently to her handler and Vexana decided to go rogue. Thank you Ann for staying with her. I’m sure you are a great comfort to her, and maybe she to you?

a huge thank you to Team Z for this update. It’s so good to know that Ann stayed, although not at all a surprise. What a wonderful guardian angel to Zenyatta!!

Thank You Mrs. Moss, you have a heart of gold for sharing these pictures and videos of Zenny and her friend with all of us. The world needs more people like you to love their animals.

Thanks Ann for the update and videos of Zenny and Vixana. Nice to see her reacquainted with an old friend basking in the sun and eating Kentucky bluegrass. She looks calm and content.

Sincere appreciation for this update. It’s just wonderful to see Zenyatta out in the paddock, enjoying a bright and sunny day with her new “girl friend”, Vixana. I’m sure, Ann, that you knew we needed this reassurance, that Z was indeed in good health and recovering in good spirits. So heartwarming to see that V has, more or less, attached herself to Z and follows her lead. That’s our Zenyatta — the alpha mare with such a nurturing soul. Thank you, again, for continuing to share Z with all of us. The life and times of the Great Zenyatta — her story continues to unfold with many more chapters yet to be written — so hope we can continue to share it with Ann and Jerry Moss and all those who love and care for her — past and present.
Sharyn
She looks just beautiful – she definitely needed another week of your TLC Ann!! She’s so special and thank you for sharing these pictures and videos!!

I can see where Vixana got her name… quite the vixen she is. LOL

When I see Zenny and Vixie together I am reminded of the words to this song:
You’ve got a friend in me
You’ve got a friend in me
When the road looks rough ahead
And you’re miles and miles from your nice warm bed
You just remember what your ol’ pal said cause
You’ve got a friend in me
Yeah, you’ve got a friend in me
You’ve got a friend in me
You’ve got a friend in me
When you’ve got troubles
I’ve got ’em too
There isn’t anything I wouldn’t do for you
We’ll stick together, we can see it through
You’ve got a friend in me
You’ve got a friend in me
Folks out there might be a bit smarter than I am
Bigger and stronger too
But none of them will ever love you the way I do
It’s you and me, girl.
And as the years go by
Our friendship will never die
You’re gonna see it’s our destiny
You’ve got a friend in me
You’ve got a friend in me
You’ve got a friend in me.

Dear Ann,
Thank you so much for thinking of Zenyatta’s fans and posting the videos showing how well she is doing. Thank you, also, for staying with Z until you were sure that she was ok when you could have left this to the staff at the farm.
I hope that you are doing as well as Zenyatta is. May God bless you in a special way for being so loving, generous & selfless.

So comforting to see Zenny doing well on such a beautiful day with her new old friend. She so cooperatively goes to the handler and Miss Vixana is a little vixen but cute, “I’ll go but I’ll do it my way!” It just makes me feel so much better to know that you stayed over to be with her, Ann. You’re just great! My best to all.
