Sheena and Ann NC. Here’s another video of Istabraq, coming from dead last, 20 lengths behind, to win like Zenyatta. He was bumped heavily toward the end, but he fought on, a tribute to the genes that he inherited from Northern Dancer and Secretariat and his own determination. All courage.

Dear Max There is something about Cheltenham that stirs the heart .It’s the home of National hunt.I have seen so many champions there oh the memories. Will put the email address in for you tomorrow the more the merrier!!!Nos Da hugs Sheena
Max
Sheena. I can see why you loved Frankel so much. Ista and Frankel look like twins. Toss in Nijinsky and there are triplets. It’s amazing how much alike those three horses look. BTW Nijinsky was a bit like Moosie. He would often refuse to work, and would stand looking off in the distance. However I don’t think that he ever refused to race on race days.

We are creatures with needs that go deeper than what we work for daily. Especially at this busy time of year, we need to find some quiet time to be alone with ourselves. We need to be able to let down our guard and enjoy a moment when there is no pressure. As we let go of tensions and “to do” lists, we begin to rest in body, mind, and spirit. Often quiet times like these refresh us more in a few short minutes than hours of sleep do. That’s because here we let go to a far deeper rest-a spirit rest.
White people need a church house, a preacher, and a pipe organ to get into a praying mood. There are so many things to distract you…We think you can’t have a vision that way.

Dear Max and Judy The email address for BHA is info@britishhorseracing.com.Did you see Denman’s pic today Max, so good to see him better and being ridden again. So pleased about St Nick. I don’t know who’s looking after us today Dave Ed and Nick are in South Africa!!Maybe it’s Boris! hugs Sheena
Max
Sheena. There is an order of precedence in a Parlimentary Cabinet system which ranks Ministers after the PM and Deputy PM. Whoever ranks after Dave and Nick would be acting PM while Dave and Nick are away. Ed’s never in charge because he is the Leader of Her Majesty’s Loyal Opposition. Boris is even not in Parliament. Might be the Chancellor of the Exchequer, Bruce Osborne? Don’t worry because you will be okay no matter who is in charge.
I’m composing my email of support for Moosie. Will also look for the photo of The Tank.
Vicki B. near Hollywood Park
Thanks, Sheena. I sent my two-cents-worth email to the BHA. Stay, Moosie!
judy berube from Rhode Island
Dear Sheena and Max:
Thank you Sheena. I sent an e-mail in support of Moosie racing again.
I was looking at Moosie’s race record and saw that he won on the flats in a Maiden race. Do you think it’s just the hurdles he doesn’t like? I’m wondering if his connections would consider letting him run in flat races to see if that peaks his interest. What do you and Max think? Love and Hugs, JB
Max
JudyB. Moosester was running flat races last summer and he did well until he decided not to come out of the gate. Nigel hired the horse psychologist Gary to help Moose. They then gave him a vacation and switched him back to the jumps. We know the rest.
judy berube from Rhode Island
Dear Max:
Thank you. Didn’t realize he refused to come out of the gate in a flat race. I’m wondering if he has just lost the desire to compete at all. That happens. Would love to see him start a few more times at least and see what he does. If he doesn’t want to race, rather see him retire from racing and try a new venue like Kauto, than risk injury. Love and Hugs, JB
Ann NC
JB,
Moosie can be the face for that snack mix made with a few of his favorite things. Yummy!
Anyway, hoping MM gets his groove back. He knows how to work a crowd.
Max
JudyB. If Moose were a “normal” horse, I’d agree. However he’s very complex. From day one, he’s been a mystery, hence his name. He can race when he wants to, and has excellent form when jumping. As Sheena said, his flat racing is also first class. He was second to Mount Athos last summer. MA was a contender for the Melbourne Cup. Moose also ran a strong second to Sprinter Sacre on the jumps last January, fighting courageously at the end to pass good horses. Few horses can excel as Moose has done over a long campaign as a dual purpose horse. His people think that he’s not bored with racing but he’s just too smart to take orders. Moose is an eccentric in a land where that quality is highly valued. It also helps that he is a handsome, grand ole chestnut.
Max
JudyB and Ann NC and all Moose fans. Here’s a video of Moose racing. He can run when he wants.

Dear Max & BlueGrass Girl
Have either of you heard anything if Big O is still A “GO” for the Arima Kinen.
I so hope to see him.
Max
Peggy. As far as we know, he’s still in training for it with no reason to think that he won’t run. He’s expected to win. Go for it, Big O.

I see what you mean about Moosie in that video. He can run when he wants to. He made up a lot of ground and against SS and other very good horses too. Wonder what’s going on with him.

.Dear Max Yes,I do understand how British politics works.Anyway we have our own Sennydd in Wales now,was just a jokey remark. Maybe Bruce Osbourne would be good especially since he’s got Lola the dog! Denman looks wonderful, Kauto doesn’t know yet if he’s parading on Boxing day .Hugs Sheena
Max
Sheena. I have no doubt that you are very well versed in the operation of British politics. I do not know what a Sennydd is. I thought perhaps wrongly that Wales now has a Llywodraeth Cynulliad Cymru? Also did not know that Bruce has a canine named Lola. Would she be a poodle like the other famous Lola Mae? Do know that Dave is a friend to horses.
Moosie is very quiet since Tingle Creek, but his fan base expands daily. I saw the photo of Denman. He looks well, but seems to have lost some weight. I hope that Kauto gets to the King George again. Still no word on Steve?

Slowly but surely things take shape and the long-awaited holidays are upon us. It always seems to take longer to prepare for the holidays than we think it should. And, of course, we want everything to be perfect-and it seldom is.
But if there is a perfect moment, a time when the meaning of this time truly comes home to us, all the work is worth it. Then we do not see the extra effort as a trial or burden. How could it be when our goal is to make someone happy, to show someone how much they are loved?
The reason for the survival of the Hopis has been our dedication to faithfulness to our one God of the universe, and our adherence to our tradition and learnings.

Dear Judy Thank you all for your support of the Moose, he’s back tweeting today.Could see Max has told you about his short-lived flat career,he did ,in fact, win at Doncaster and was an excellent 2nd at the Chester May meeting but it went pear-shaped at York and he gave them about a furlong start at RA.If you go on his twitter(you don’t have to belong) there’s a good blog from his jockey David Crosse on there today Have a great day Hugs Sheena
