Thank you so much for the new photos. Zenyatta looks so contented and happy in her pictures. The peace in her eyes is unmistakable.
Little Red is growing so big and looks to be full of spirit. Warms my heart on this cold snowy day to see him.

We love Zenyatta and her family of connections who continue to shower us with these wonderful surprise photos as well as the great new stuff in the shop!! Thank you so much for sharing these new photos – there is nothing more beautiful than seeing Queen Z enjoying being a horse, loving a roll in the pasture, sharing a good day with her friend. These things always lift my heart. Sweet young 13Z keeps growing more and more handsome and I just feel he will be a formidable racehorse once he reaches the track, as I’m sure Cozmic One will as well. Even if they decide they don’t like racing, they are going to be loved boys any way and I will always hold them in my heart. Thank you – again. Zenyatta’s connections – the Mosses, Lane’s End, Kyle and Alys – y’all are the best!!

….AND WE LOVE YOU, TEAM Z!
I love seeing my Big Girl “on the roll” and Z-13 is starting to look like a grown-up little man. Please, baby Red, don’t grow up TOO FAST!
Well, I’ve just posted a new article on THE VAULT about another Queen….the Queen of the West, aka The Coal Black Lady.
It drove me crazy because this lady raced 171 times — she was brilliant — but you just can’t give every minor detail for a career like that! (Even though I wanted to!) The Ross County Historical Society kindly let me use some stunning photos of her for free.
I hope my special Zen family enjoys it. Now brain-dead me is off to consider the matter of supper. (No worries — the fuzzy family has already been fed!)
Love & hugs to all; peppermint kisses to my sweet Zenny and her boys

Thanks so much for this post/link, Abigail! Another outstandingly excellent Vault article.
Imp was really something!! Love the sleep running description — the “don’t wake her up” admonition from her groom! What a horse!
Thanks and Hugs

Thank you Carol, Judy & Marshall. I really appreciate the support since I would otherwise have no-one to share these fabulous stories with and THE VAULT has brought me into your community which I just adore.
Another VAULT reader wrote to say that Imp appears in the pedigree of MAGNUS STAR, who is her last surviving relative. Imp was a disappointment as a broodmare and had only 4 foals before delivering her fifth and dying shortly thereafter. The last foal apparently died too. Such a sad ending for this great, great thoroughbred and the reason I didn’t write about her broodmare days. Imp’s gift to us was her turf legacy.
Here’s Magnus Star’s pedigree chart:

Black Caviar’s tweeted that her little brother Jimmy is improving slightly PUJ.Also good luck to euro mare Moonlight.Cloud in Hong Kong on sunday Hugs SheenaX

Sheena. What is this about The Queen Elizabeth getting an award as owner of the year in the UK? Estimate, her mare, got an award too as stayer. She sent her racing manager and Michael Stoute to collect the trophies. The Fly won for best hurdler. Excellent choices all.
Please advise when you know if Mad Batman decides to race. Perhaps the horse psychologist suggested the new head gear? Run Moosie run!

Dear Sheena:
Glad to hear that Jimmy is improving. Love and Hugs, JB

Dear Sheena,
Great to hear about Jimmy! Power up Jimmy!

Z fans, this is a tribute to Hollywood Park, with a discussion of past greats including Bobby Frankel who trained horses there. There is also very nice commentary on the great racing Queen Zenyatta.

Oh Thank you. I know I keep saying this but I show the children everything. They love Zenyatta, Coz and Z13. Last night I had Parent Teacher Conferences. I have a project outside my classroom where the children wrote sentences on horses in the language of Native Americans. They got to color their horse and name their horse. One father said to me, “Boy a lot of those horses are called Zenyatta.” I just thought I wish the Z Team could hear this. Her Zen Magic still touches my classes.
God Bless All of you and Thank you from the bottom of my heart for letting us be in her life. Love, Shari Voltz

Max sorry I just got to read Hovis.
Tell him Florida is a great place to come and we have very few rabbits.
The sandy ground does not adapt well to the varmints that like to go under.
Love Hovis
Thank you
Sue
Max
Sue. All wise race horses head to Florida at some time in their lives, especially the east coasters and the Canadians. It’s a great place. Hovis should consider it.

Thanks Max
Although it does get a bit windy here from time to time with a few hurricanes.
Hovis may find hair in even new places…

Zen looks pretty happy rolling and 13z is a cutie.

Those pics of Z13 are defiantly when he was a bit younger. He is way more stocker now. The last blog he is bigger. He is the cutest thing and I can wait to see what shade of chestnut he’s going to be once he sheds out his coat this summer! Z having a good roll just puts a smile on my face!

Someone I was talking to yesterday stated “I was really impressed with umm umm oh I cant think of the name…” and I blurted out “Zenyatta?” He said yes. I told him he should see one wall in my office…al ZENYATTA and her babies!!!! Love the Z!

Thank you for the beautiful photography of our favorite subject, Coz and Z13. Am anxiously awaiting the birth of Z14. If only Zenyatta, my favorite broodmare, could have a date with Tiznow, my favorite stallion. I know that this combination is highly unlikely, but I can dream. Really appreciate Team Z for keeping us Zenyatta fans abreast of how Queen Z is doing .

Thanks Team Z. Zenny, you make me smile. 13, you are something else!
Love ya!

You are so considerate for thanking us, but it is you Team Z, Ann & Jerry, that share all of Zenyatta’s life that we, I, am so very thankful for. I love you all!
The very first picture of Z; she looks very content, almost sleepy. She is truly my cherished mare and queen.
Thankyou so much, Sally B

Zenyatta, Came home from taking care of the older sanctuary horses tonight working in bitter cold. I wish I could cuddle up near you, you could warm me up and I could whistle some relaxing tunes for you.
Goodnight Z, lovenkisses on your soft nose, and to your awesome sons.

BGG–this is the reason I’ve been absent some from the blog. We have season tickets to the Lady Bear games. What a game that was! Congratulations to your girls. That was a game that I hated to see anyone lose. I’ve already congratulated Debbie G. Didn’t stay up for all of the boys–will check ESPN. I’m positive you all won.
Hugs.

13z is getting big and looking more beautiful! How do I go about getting a celebration and Zenyatta sticker?

I see that Zenyatta really likes to roll around and scratch her back, she sure is peppy. She always looks so good and healthy. Z13 looks so beautiful with his red coat. He will be some looker when he is all grown up. Zenyatta sure does have beautiful children. I enjoy all the pictures that are posted and thanks so much for keeping us all informed as to how the Z family is doing. Love all of you and most of all Zenny.
