Walk of Champions Gala Celebration

Zenyatta was inducted into the Arcadia Historical Society Thoroughbred Racing Walk of Champions on May 24. She was honored, along with eight other horse and human inductees, at a gala celebration at the Los Angeles County Arboretum & Botanic Garden. Members of Team Zenyatta including Jerry and Ann Moss, John Shirreffs, Dottie Ingordo-Shirreffs and Mike Smith attended the event. Zenyatta’s bronze plaque was previewed, and guests were treated to a video compilation of Zenyatta’s victories.

Zenyatta’s plaque will be installed in downtown Arcadia, CA. See it here along with our photos from the gala.

    I am so excited that I got a ticket to the Induction Ceremony at the Racing Hall of Fame in Saratoga in August. Is anyone from here going?

      How did you get a ticket? I heard only HOF members and connections of inductees would be able to attend. Lucky you!

        I called The Racing Hall of Fame and they said members of the museum would be given a chance to get a ticket. So I joined the museum and a couple of weeks later they sent an email stating to rsvp if you wanted a ticket!!

Many of us would like to be champions, but our knowledge is so limited and we are often selfish. We need help. Be unpretentious when you ask for help. If you do not have wisdom, ask for it-but don’t rely on another person to meet all your needs. Sometimes those we depend on, those we choose to mentor us, have feet of clay. But when people disappoint us and we encounter obstacles in our path, we must continue to work toward our goal. This is how a champion is born.

    If we have corn and meat and know of a family that has none, we divide with them.

    Dear Kathy.A lovely start to June here.Pretty miserable elsewhere in England .West is best.I have heard about the flooding n Texas.I have just been reading about one of those pregnant mares saved from a kill buyer back in February.They had thought she was a cripple but left alone is able to walk quite well.On may 21st she lay down in her box and had a textbook foaling.She has a beautiful filly called Faith.God bless them both.The going at Epsom will be soft after heavy rains there only 9 let in the Oaks.Have you seen the ratties have joined LinkedIn.Their fame is spreading.Mr Fibbs.of course, will be your president soon.Mango is still enjoying her holidays and loves looking out of the window.Not much news from Fubu again hope all is well with them.Tom went for a walk up a mountain.Oh,gosh he was exhausted but missing Atticus.I am looking forward to seeing Samwise arrive.Police are getting involved with the Harambe incident.There are 135,000 likes on the page now.I have seen photos of the “parents”!

    Glad you’re enjoying nice weather at the moment. That does my heart good reading about that sweet mare who now has a lovely filly. “Faith,” how perfect! Prayers everything goes well for all running in the Epsom. Joining LinkedIn will help the ratties in their bizness stuff. Mango and family sure are on a long vacation! There are always concerns for Fubu and Kimberly. Maybe they’ll post more when the weather back there is warmer. Poor Tom. I know it will help him when Samwise arrives. Zoe’s Mommy posted a beautiful cartoon with Harambe arriving in heaven. I shared it to my page, too. That’s good the parents are being investigated. Yes, I expect Hovis is getting wet.     RIP The Corsican who was euthanised today following a paddock accident.He was due to run in the Coronation cup.His full-brother Deauville runs in the Epsom Derby.Much sympathy to David Simcock and connections.Sheena
