Happy Thursday!
As promised, we have some photos of Cozmic One in training at Mayberry Farm. We were in Florida on a chilly March day to witness Coz gallop around the track. He spent the morning grazing and romping around his paddock. Post-workout, he was back in his stall for a video chat with Ann. A photo of Cozmic One as a foal, standing in a Lane’s End paddock with Zenyatta, hangs in his stall.
We didn’t leave without sitting down with the staff of Mayberry Farm. They generously answered questions for our Ask The Experts feature. We’ll share their answers on the blog over the next few weeks.
Enjoy!

Dear Max.Yes,I heard about Battle Group later on Moosie’s twitter.Moose will be left to carry on”not racing” alone!Jamie is a very strong jockey and extremely popular in the weighing room,at least he smiles unlike his brother Ryan.I hope we can get to see SDG on April 26th at Sandown but ground has to be soft.Free the Moose.Sheena.

Sheena. Moosie has company. In his last race, they mentioned others who seek the same path of enlightenment as our Moose.
Checked on Kind. She had her 2013 foal on February 7, 2013. I do not know when she visited Galileo. Could be any day now for the new one. Hope all is well. Let us know.
As for Z, if her peeps are at Lane’s End, it must be time soon. Let’s pray for a quick and easy birth.

Sheena. My foal date is wrong yet again. Kind delivered on February 2, 2013, full brother to Frankel. He has that Sadler’s Wells blaze. Maybe she is not in foal and it was an off year? Or the foaling date may be late because she had to travel to Ireland? I hope all is well with her. She is a lovely horse. They call her Kind in name and kind in nature.
I may not be sleeping much tonight. 14Z, many many thousands await your arrival.

Congratulations to all the winners today… and you know? I am completely enamoured with Ride on Curlin. There are so many photos of him on his FB page where he’s got his tongue out lol…. he has such a bright eye on him and he is always trying his heart out (like his daddy!)

There are some beautiful pics in his FB…. and it is backed up by the fact he’s faced many of the top horses in his division; Honor Code, Havana, Tapiture, Strong Mandate (he did not have a good day, I hope he’s okay), Hoppertunity,
Danza’s a beautiful horse, too… Pletcher’s got two solid competitors in Danza and Constitution.
Ride on Curlin!!! I love Chrome too! It’s getting really, REALLY hard to pick JUST one…
also, I saw on FB too that Zenyatta’s officially under foal watch…. stay safe and healthy baby girl… have a healthy and safe foaling and cannot wait to see the next little prince or princess! Prayers!

Whilst we wait, hopefully not for much longer, I must say that there were many good races today, but Cowtown’s was NOT amongst them. He threw in a clunker–sigh! We spoke with the jockey afterwards (he seems a very nice young man) who said things seemed “perfect” race wise, that is, until he crossed the dirt, then he just “stopped.” It was good (in a way) to have my own (amateur) observations confirmed by the man on his back, since that is what it seemed to me. So many people seemed to think this shorter distance was what would do the trick–so he was the favorite. This was the first time we did not have a chance to scream for him coming down the stretch–felt odd. We saw him gallop back and he looked okay. Oh well. Will let you know what we learn.
Now back to waiting and pacing. Hey, today I wore my Zenyatta cap! Had a feeling. :-)

Love Ya dear boy and remembering you so fondly on the date of your birth. You Saved The Farm. Wanted to lift you up on this day. Love talking about you because I know you got slighted a little. Your just wonderful and I know your up in heaven running this day. I remember Mrs Chenery talking about you so fondly, It really sounded like she loved you dearly
I got to see a desendent of yours recently in Florida. I looked him up especially at the sale. He looked a lot like you. Just beautiful. He sure did want out of his stall, He was really making a fuss in his stall, and he kept on and on fiddling with the stall latch trying to get out. I was about worried that he was going to kick the barn down. But you know when I saw him later in the ring he was very behaved.
Riva I love you dearly. Remembering you and hope to see you one day.

April 13 Cherokee Devotional
The quiet companionship of a comforting person is like balm to the soul. Like Mother Earth, she absorbs the shock of pain and erases the wounds, and even the scars, with time. These kindred spirits seem to be able to take our hand and walk with us through the difficult places they have already traveled. They keep us from the loneliness that pervades our experiences, waiting for a word that we have passed through safely. And best of all, they never bring it up again but let the past take care of the past. Their eyes are on tomorrow, their hands on the present time so that we never hear empty echoes and are never reminded that we were unhappy. And then, we, in quiet ways, can reach back and take someone else’s hand.
I take you by the hand with all my heart…you have spoken comfort to us.

Hi everyone
Good morning
I have not been posting much or really at all for a few months.
I thought since we are in the Waiting Room I could take some time to catch up my friends here with some news.
Mom update
My Mom had her first checkup a few weeks ago to see if the cancer in her breast was gone. Praise the Lord it is! My Mom was so happy she was on could 9. Mom called all of the family and her friends telling everyone the good news. Her goal now is to gain strength back. All of the chemo, the operation and radiation really took it out of her.
Unfortunately my other Mom Brian’s Mom is under hospice care now. Ruth has been in a nursing home for several years. She has many complications that all are just too much now and at age 84 she is just worn out. The home moved her to hospice cars in March. I am not sure when she will go to heaven but I am praying that she does not have to suffer here too long. I plan to go home for the service but have to see if Angel will be ok with the pet sitter.
Angel fell down and hurt her other leg in December. Now she has a replace left knee TTA implant and a right ankle injury. Most likely the tendon on the outside and the vet also mentioned the hip itself took a hard whack too. It has been 4 months and she seems like the ankle is coming along but I have to keep her from falling. The first 2 months she kept falling and it would start the healing process all over each time. Angel is my baby and I don’t want her hurt anymore so it’s hard to leave her with the sitter but I want to go home for Ruth and Brian’s family. I love them too.
Larry my new kitty and Jelly my older kitty still don’t like each other. Larry has turned out to be a very cool kitty. I am glad he came to live in my trees. Larry and Angle are such good buddies. Thanks for Larry God you always send the best ones.
I have been working hard on getting things updated at my house. That has taken up so much of my time. I have plans to get the house all in order and list is on the market. I am getting older and this is just too much work for one person. I have to find a place to move and that has not happened yet either. I have been looking for a year and a half so far. The perfect home has not come up yet. I am sure when it is supposed to happen it will. Gods timing is always right we just have to wait and we don’t always understand it at all. When you think about it we are always waiting for something!
Wow check out this Full Moon update.
Full moon and Full lunar eclipse on 4-15-14
April 15 – Full Moon. The Moon will be directly opposite the Earth from the Sun and will be fully illuminated as seen from Earth. This phase occurs at 07:42 UTC. This full moon was known by early Native American tribes as the Full Pink Moon because it marked the appearance of the moss pink, or wild ground phlox, which is one of the first spring flowers. This moon has also been known as the Sprouting Grass Moon and the Growing Moon.
April 15 – Total Lunar Eclipse. A total lunar eclipse occurs when the Moon passes completely through the Earth’s dark shadow, or umbra. During this type of eclipse, the Moon will gradually get darker and then take on a rusty or blood red color. The eclipse will be visible throughout most of North America, South America, and Australia.
http://eclipse.gsfc.nasa.gov/LEplot/LEplot2001/LE2014Apr15T.pdf
Now that is something to think about a Pink Moon could that be a baby girl coming? We sure can come up with some names for Z14 now.
I think I have taken enough space sorry it’s so big. I just am waiting with you all in the Waiting Room.
Love to everyone

GREAT news about your Mum!!!!
Sandy (Northeast Ohio)
Sue, Great news about your Mom. Tell her we’re joining in the celebration. Sounds like a difficult time for Brian’s Mom and the rest of her family. I hope you are able to find a trustworthy pet sitter when you need to go home. I know how hard that is – especially when one of the pets isn’t 100%. I could tell many stories about strangers trying to administer a pill to a cat :-(. I had a great time too Sue and hope to do it again next year.

Dear Sheena,
So glad Glesni is fighting back! I hope she’ll be the victor. Congrats to Lady and the staff on Lady’s perfect timing. Can’t wait to see Fubu’s new toy. Hopefully he wasn’t too lonely when his mom was gone. If he’s anything like my kids he slept while she was away. I think Marty definitely needs to slim down a little. Maybe a few less treats would do the trick. Joey’s cause is very worthwhile. Wonderful that his fame can help these needy kitties. Cute video of Boo following Buddy around. Such cuties! It won’t be long now with Ann back in KY with her beloved Zenny. Can’t wait to see Z14! Have a beautiful Sabbath. Hugs from me, kisses from Holly, Sugar and Nikko. Kathy
