Last week Ann arrived in Kentucky with Zenyatta’s Hall of Fame plaque and Makers’ Mark commemorative bottle. Zenyatta and Ann are pictured here with Zenyatta’s paddock mate Vixana. Thanksgiving carrots all around!
Precious!
Thank you, Team Z. Beautiful photos Alys. Helps when your subjects are lovely inside and out.
Wishing all a wonderful holiday season.
Love to all.
Just noticed in the photo (4th from the bottom) of Ann with Zenny, that the tops of the carrots are missing (tops are always the best part ! ). Hard to pick a favorite photo, but I think this is my favorite. Hope everyone has a wonderful Thursday. with love, Elizabeth
Mamacita “Z”, you look amazing!! Getting your winter coat and your baby bump. Charles will have to put that plack in your trophy case, it must be just about full now. Thanks for these lovely pictures. Have heard your sis Ebby is coming back to US in a year or so, as she was bought in the Tattersall sales by an US farm……thank God.
Hope all on the blog are doing well, I try to keep up with news but can’t always. Love to all. sue
Back this afternoon for a quick look at all of the photos again – so hard to stay away from Zenny’s world! I really love the 2nd one of her, as if she must be saying, “Oh! For me?! Let’s hurry, hurry and open it!”. And also the 8th of her ‘studying’ her Hall of Fame award. Loved all of these photos – so hard ‘not’ to check her website throughout the day! Back to work. Am in the 1200’s trying to figure out the ‘date’ on one of the ancestors in the research. Hope everyone is enjoying all of these beautiful photos of the 2 ‘girls’ having a day together. What joy!! with love, Elizabeth
Dear Marshall,
You are so right – what would we girls do without our girlfriends?! We have beautiful sisters-in-law (my husband and I both grew up with brothers – no girls were born into our immediate families). The ‘girls’ who married our brothers are really among our best friends. I’m so happy for Zenny that she has her best horse girlfriend with her all of the time. Hope you have a wonderful day.
with love, Elizabeth
Zen looks so beautiful. She loves her Ann and her surprises. It looks just like she is reading the plaque. She knows it is hers! Does anyone know if the winner of the contest to see Zen has been announced yet? I have not seen it if it has. I wish I could see her I am going to make a trip soon as soon as I get things straight with my car that I had for 5 months was totaled. A Young lady ran into the back of me. She did not see me brake as we all were sitting in traffic!! Oh well I was not hurt to bad thank God for that. Anyway love you Zen you are the greatest and maybe I will get to see you one day.
Sorry about your accident, but glad to know you are okay.
The results of the contest are a couple of blog entries back — November 22 to be exact, entitled “2016 Zenyatta Celebration Results”, I think. Just go back two entries and you will find the winners. There is a photo of a Mercedes with a personalized license plate reading “Ziconic” at the top of the entry.
Everyone looks so happy in the presence of The Queen. Ann and Charles have those smiles that only Zenny can bring. Oh, for the chance to touch this great mare! Love all the pictures…she is a very special creature. But, then, we all know that.
I was browsing on the internet and found that Earl Hamner had died back in March, 2016. Somehow I missed this at the time since I am pretty certain that I would have remembered that loss. “The Waltons” was/is one of my most favorite TV shows, probably my very favorite. My parents grew up during the years depicted in this series and of course, Virginia is just next door to us.
Thank you to Earl Hamner for lovely memories of decent lives well-lived.
RIP Mr. Hamner July 10, 1923 — March 24, 2016
Apologies for being off topic, but I was saddened to learn this.
Goodnight John-boy.
Walk in poison ivy and a rash will appear. Walk where all of life’s laws are broken and trouble is assured. Laws are pure and simple. Break them and pay. Only the witless believe themselves above the law or too smart to get caught.
Laws, written and unwritten, are supposed to be for our good. If they are not, they are eventually repealed. But God’s laws are set forever, and they serve as the foundation for every good act, every good outcome. Give people the opportunity to correct themselves, and if they don’t, life itself will do the correcting. Things will be balanced, changes will be made, but it is the law of life that will win.

Mrs. Moss, you and Zenyatta absolutely glow when around one another. Her intelligence is very evident in the time she gave to her plaque! It was nice of Vixana to show proper interest in it too. Good to see the expectant Mothers getting their Vitamin A and D!
Thank you for allowing us to be a part of Zenyatta’s life.
xoxo to ALL,
