Happy Saturday!
Scroll down for photos from our most recent trip to Lanes’s End.
Zenyatta and her War Front filly spend their summer days grazing and playing with paddock-mates. When the flys are particularly pesky, Z Princess will stay close to her mom’s tail for extra protection.
Zinconic was showing off for us in the paddock (we think he’s excited to be in training prep). Our next blog post will cover his new routine.
Enjoy!

Belated Birthday to Lady Ann. Zenyatta looks wonderful, as do her babies.
So glad Mucho Macho Man will have a happy and exciting new career. I have routed for him since the beginning. He has accomplished so much. I wish him the best and look forward to following his offspring. Now my picks for the BC will be narrowed down, still tough decisions. I have too many favorites.
Hope everyone stays safe, healthy and happy.
Deb E.
Happy Belated Birthday wishes to Ann Moss! Thank you for your incredible generosity in sharing your “daughter” Zennie’s life at Lane’s End and the lives of your grandkids with us! I, for one, am very grateful!
pamhomeier
Deb E. I so agree with you! Thank you Jerry and Ann and Lane’s End for sharing Zenyatta’s family! You must be literally bursting with excitement on the potential of these babies. I think you gave Zennie a year off partially for your own health! How much love and excitement can one take? lol

Dear Ann, NC
OMG, You have just made my day. I thought that was the race she was in but couldn’t find her listed. I was looking Monday and Tuesday for her and just couldn’t find her . Judy was going to help me find her too. Just love Caroline. That race is on the turf and going to have some really good horses in it. Have not seen her in a long time so I’m really looking forward to the race. Thank you so much for confirming she is in it. I think that race if i’m not wrong has one of the Kittens in it. Not sure if it’s Stephanie’s Kitten or another. I told Judy, Kittens everywhere. Just too cute.
I am pulling for Caroline Thomas in that race, though. Just love her.
Thank You so much again for letting me know. Go Caroline……………………………………..

Peggy. See why you like her. Beautiful chestnut filly. Hoping that she wins.
Free the Moose! Victory to all chestnuts.

Think this is the fourth time I have looked at these. It never gets old. Cannot wait to see Ziconic in the round pen, with a rider on him.. mane pulled… clipped up.. Have loved him from the very first day. (He’s a Tapit – lol) The filly is too beautiful to be believed. Thanks for keeping all their fans up to date with things.

Dear Max.Glad you liked the photos. In Osprey world the females tend to be bigger,be wise not to get in an argument with her.Did you ever see the videos of the fights between Glesni and Blue 24 back in the spring?AP McCoy is stuck on 4,191 winners same as his old boss Martin Pipe.Tomorrow maybe? The Moose must be free. PU Dan and all sick horses everywhere Did the guy turn up to repair your decking?Sheena.
Max
Sheena. Who is Blue 24?
I have been following AP. He said that he is looking forward to 5000. AP is always very serious and humble, unlike another who comes to mind.
Deck is progressing not at all. They seem to move equipment around and do little else. I think that we are looking at a September finale. Buildings have gone up in less time.
Free the Moose! Mercy for the Moose. Danny, keep working. Beast, do your homework. Reilly and Sir, eat well. Sick horses, quickly recovery. Tasty and baby, never forgotten. Look out for Z and her young ones, especially Cozzy with his studies.

Dear California Z Fans:
Got this story in an email today from Neigh Sayers. This OTTB, Triumvirate, was illegally sold at auction and is now missing. Neigh Sayers is trying to help the original owner find him. If any of you have any info, please contact Neigh Sayers. Thanks. Love and Hugs, JB

Zsters, I am unable to report on seeing Sir because I was told today that Becky has changed her mind about allowing visiting him. Yesterday, she responded saying I should contact her and let her know when I would be arriving. This morning I called and she broke the news to me and went on and on with all her complaints of not wanting Sir etc.
She spent a good half hour ranting. It probably was a good thing she did most of the talking as I was choked up with tears. I will need to take a break and hope she changes her mind in a couple weeks. Becky is really bitter that CC would not take Sir back, and upset that we volunteers have not found another home. She stated Sir is left out in the pasture all the time except for paddock feeding of grain. She no longer has Sir in her awesome stalls at night. She does not want interruption by Sir in the barn. I guess there is a shelter out in the pasture.
I do know she is feeding him well so that is good and is with other horses during the day. Sure glad I have my memories of Sir!!!
Goodnight, Sally B

Dear Sally B.,
My heart breaks for Sir and for you, too. This is so senseless — is this woman nuts?
I sincerely hope there is an angel out there somewhere who will come to the rescue, and soon! He is long overdue for some good luck (of course, you are his special lucky charm).
Will keep you and sweet Sir in my thoughts and prayers.
Consider yourself hugged!

Thank you Ann & Jerry Moss, Lane’s End and Team Z for the amazing photos of our Zenyatta and her foals. Z is still such a beautiful mare and has produced three exceptional offspring. Each one is unique — Zenyatta “originals”. Zi (Z’s Red) is absolutely mesmerizing — looks like a 2 year old colt already, not a yearling. Prinzess Lily looks to be turning a bit darker, more like Z — hope she eventually “dapples” like Mama Z. They both seem to love to run and romp in the paddock! And Coz — he’s developed into a big handsome colt and I don’t think he’s near done growing. Hopefully each of them will have her disposition, personality. heart and will to win — and that big, long amazing stride that was Zenyatta at her best!
I am so grateful that you have given us this opportunity to remain connected to Zenyatta. It’s such a “feel good” moment when I check the website and find a new installment on the blog or check the forum for updates on so many informative discussions. I’ve learned so much just from being “addicted” to Zenyatta!
Happy Birthday (now belated) to Ann Moss — hope you had a wonderful day and got to video chat with Queen Z!
KathyR
Just had a message from the Black Caviar shop: it’s closing down. Just confirms what a few of us have said – the broodmares just disappear. Only confirms just how lucky and blessed we are with the magical Zenyatta and Mr and Mrs Moss keeping us in the loop.
sue and tony
Zenny remains magical and a huge inspiration to so many people and the activity on this special site only confirms it. You are so right about broodmares and thank God our Queen’s human family chooses to keep us connected to her and her offspring.
A belated Happy Birthday to Zenny’s soulmate, the lovely Ann.

Dear Kathy R:
Does that mean there will be no Facebook Page or access to BC’s progress? Love and Hugs, JB
KathyR
Dear Judy:
Not sure about the Facebook page – think the shop aspect is a separate business altogether. As far as Nelly’s progress, that was always going to be controlled by Neil Werrett and the other owners, and of course Darley since they have her in their care since the mating. Will try and find out more – but it’s a bit like pulling teeth. Hugs, KathyR.
Judy Berube From Rhode Island
Dear Kathy R:
Oh no, I was hoping that BC’s owners would be in charge of keeping fans informed of her progress. Unfortunately, like Coolmore, Darley is not known to be very forthcoming with reports on their Broodmares. Maybe BC’s Facebook page will give updates from time to time. Hope so. Love and Hugs, JB

Thanks, Sheena! The poor chicks must have been terrified to be taken from their nest and get their rings and measurements. I’m glad that’s all behind them. I hope they both have a wonderful life. Hugs, Kathy.

What a beautiful video to go to sleep with – I’ll have sweet dreams tonight, thinking of those magnificent ospreys. July 17 Cherokee Devotional
There is little wrong with the earth that it cannot clean up itself. It renews constantly, trying to keep pace with so much tampering going on. It has its hot spots, its upheavals, and the recycling of elements-but the Indian has known how to live with the changes. It is the world of people that needs to clean up its act. Some think the trouble began when the atom was split-but it was more apt to be when man split with the Great Holy Spirit. We learn from the earth not to build up too much pressure or we will blow it. The river has taught us we can’t be too broadminded or we spread out in the shallows and dry up in the midday sun. When moral standards were lost in the shuffle, the world kicked over the lantern again.
Hear me, not for myself but for my people…that they may once more go back…and find the good road and the shielding tree.

Dear Kathy.Such a great devotional today.Glad you enjoyed the video, did you see Glesni circling the nest whilst the chicks were being ringed? They were very well-behaved.Our 2 day heatwave has started that’s right 2 days!! We aren’t used to much warm weather over here!!!weather warning for storms and flash floods for the weekend.Poor Zoe lost another friend such a gorgeous lab Sammy bless him, loved her Zoeism today. If Fubu had entered that contest at the beginning he’d have won by a mile!So Marty has a very naughty twin called Morty can that rat get any cuter!!And he’s opening a mart in Brussels, look out the European Union a real biznessman is in town!I was so sad to hear on Joey about all those cats and kittens put to sleep when will peeps learn to spay/neuter.They just discard them like rubbish, read a story about 1 woman who stuffed 42 cats into 5 carriers and dumped them at the humane society.Police are on the look-out for her!Have a great day.Hugs to you,Kisses for Holly,Nikko and Sugar.Sheena.
Kathy
Dear Sheena,
Glesni was indeed keeping very close watch. I know that was very traumatic for her. As you say, the chicks were on their best behavior. I hope the 2 days of heat go by fast for you. Think cool thoughts! Poor little Zoe. She’s lost several friends. You can just see the sadness in her little face. Fubu is doing great. Praying he places. Smiling over Marty’s evil twin, Morty. That rat is a hoot! He will be selling waffles in Brussels. Maybe he will get into the chocolate bizness, too…Horrible news about all those cats and kittens being put to sleep. It just haunts you. Hope the police catch that woman! Have a good Friday Eve. Hugs from me, kisses from Holly, Nikko and Sugar. Kathy.
