Happy Saturday!
Scroll down for photos from our most recent trip to Lanes’s End.
Zenyatta and her War Front filly spend their summer days grazing and playing with paddock-mates. When the flys are particularly pesky, Z Princess will stay close to her mom’s tail for extra protection.
Zinconic was showing off for us in the paddock (we think he’s excited to be in training prep). Our next blog post will cover his new routine.
Enjoy!

@Debbie Sutherland–yes, Old Friends is a wonderful place. I just wish I had more money to send to them! It is a blessing to visit there. When we were there and talking with Michael Blowen, we were flabbergasted to find that one of our friends here in Waco is his former brother-in-law. Michael used to run the Art Center here. Hugs.

Dear Kathy. That’s the 1st time I’ve guessed the sex of the chicks correctly!!The eldest”bob”#1 was the boy I can imagine him being known as Gwyn a popular Welsh name.I hope they will post a video of the actual ringing.Thank goodness it’s dry for St Swithin’s day,the thought of 40 days and nights of rain!
Kimberly is up through the night feeding Fubu his gravy, she’s devoted to him, hope he starts eating his dry food soon.It seems Joey got sick because of something he ate, have you seen Dr Bob’s video.Someone had put a message that he looked ill and should get a check-up!!!Marty can sell Flamingos now maybe I should put in an order!!!Cute pic of Boo having a pee like a girl!!Dolly doesn’t post so much on her public page now. It’s very hot with Ray,lovely pic of Jack O with the slippers a dog loves a nice pair to chew.Have a lovely day.Hugs to you,Kisses For Holly, Nikko and Sugar.Sheena.
Kathy
Dear Sheena,
Congratulations on guessing the chicks’ sex correctly. Would love to see
video of the ringing. Hooray for the dry weather for St. within’s day! Kimberly is indeed devoted to Fubu. I hope he has an upswing. I was glad to see the video from Dr. Bob. It puts our minds at rest. So glad we can get plastic flamingos from Marty!!! They really dress up a yard! Poor little Boo. You can always count on your mom to embarrass you! He’s so famous he can pee any which way he chooses and it will be okay with us! I’m always grateful for any information we get on Dolly. Jack O and the slippers was very sweet. We had a jet black miniature poodle, Jacques, who used to carry old slippers around and we would praise him for being so clever. He was such a smart dog. I miss him. He would have turned 24 on St. Paddy’s day. Zoe’s mom is one talented artist! Have a wonderful day. Hugs to you, kisses from Holly, Nikko and Sugar. Kathy.

Good morning Zenny, Princess, Ziconic, Cozi and my Zenny family.
Just saw that Azeri’s Deep Impact colt was the sale topper at the JBIS colt/filly sales. Also listed is Cosi Rosie’s colt by Deep Impact, who made over a million. (Cosi Rosie was raced by the Mosses) You can click on the hip number to see photos of any of these babies. You know, I miss Azeri so much! She will always be one of my favourites. But even though I know it’s good for the breed to move horses from country-to-country, I do so wish that she was still in the USA & that I could keep following her as a broodmare…..
Here’s a link to the sales, in case any of you are interested (the live video is off as Day Two is now over, but if you look at the top of the list you’ll see you can go back/forward to different results by day):

Just read this news in the TDN. Like you, I wish Azeri was Stateside too. Love and Hugs, JB

Well, it looks like Jackie is here to stay. I do have mixed feelings about it. Maybe I’m not really open emotionally for another puppydoodle but darn he is so funny and it does seem at some time he’s been mistreated. Cotton stares at him all the time and he lays on his stomach and puts his head down and looks right back at her. Heck, my brother won’t even stare Cotton down. The bloom is a little off the Cali Chrome rose. Why do people have to be so …..! It’s raining. Been raining since the middle of the night. Glad. Love to Zenny and kids.
Judy Berube From Rhode Island
Dear Vicki:
Good luck with your beautiful little puppydoodle. Love and Hugs, JB

YAY!
Vicki, Cotton, and Jackie — has a nice sound to it!
Sometimes you just simply accept the gift when it’s offered and love it.
Look forward to hearing about the adventures of Cotton and Jackie (and you, of course!).

Thank you Lane’s End, Alys and all who contributed to these wonderful photos of the “girls” and Ziconic. All so beautiful. Haven’t had an opportunity to come to the site for awhile. Tons of company and family visiting the past two weeks. Keeps me busy for sure. Always appreciate keeping us in the loop with Zenyatta and her babies. Ziconic is so handsome and so big! The baby girl is just such a beauty too. And our Queen couldn’t look happier and more content. I did watch some of her races, especially the exciting one with Switch, just fun to watch you race Zenyatta. You were truly the best ever.
Have a great summer and hope the flies aren’t too pesky. That must be miserable!!
Sally B. (Auntie cherishes Z and her young)
Delrene, So glad I came on here today as well so I could see that you were here!!
Hope all is going great!

Mucho Macho Man retired to stand stud at Adena Springs. Loving the pics of Z, War Front filly and Ziconic.

shirleeinindy
Judy, I just read this on Bloodhorse.com. I suspected this if he did not put in a work or announce a race soon. I will miss his so much but am glad he is retiring sound and happy. One who fires the imagination and affection that he does only come along once in awhile. Guess I will have to focus on Lea and Palace Malice while I wait for Pennmarydel, Coz, Jess’s Dream and Union Jackson to hit the track.
Judy Berube From Rhode Island
Dear Shirlee:
I know you will miss MMM; me too. But, it is good that he is retiring healthy and sound. We will have to keep track of all our beloved boys (and girls) in the coming months. Love and Hugs, JB
Sally B. (Auntie cherishes Z and her young)
I am not so sure that Adena allows visitation by the public or not. Does any one know?
Judy Berube From Rhode Island
Dear Sally:
I’m pretty sure Adena was one of the farms Sandy and Debbie visited. Love and Hugs, JB
Sandy (Northeast Ohio)
Yes, Debbie and I had a nice visit at Adena Springs last month. Saw MMM’s dad and Ghostzapper among others. I can repost the link to the photos if you missed them before.

Beautiful pictures of the ‘kids.’ Wow. But what does one expect with such royal bloodlines? It’s wonderful watching Cozmic One and now Ziconic maturing into such gorgeous race horses and Z’s little princess looks like she’s going to be a big girl like her momma. Can’t help but be excited to see them run….

Sheena. Mucho is shirlee’s favorite horse. She is definitely his number 1 fan in the Z family. I always enjoyed hearing about her happiness at his racing success. And her stories about Uncle Johnny.
Heard today that Pique Sous is entered in the Ebor. He’s also going to race over hurdles. Love that courageous gray horse. His story is an inspiration.
Free the Moose! Danny, stay well. Reilly and Sir, hope life is treating you well. Al, thinking of you. Get well all horses who are sick. Tasty, never forgotten. Watch over Z and her young ones. Waiting for good news of your baby.

Oh my goodness! !! All of these pictures are stunning. The photos of Ziconic are something else. Look at him with all fours off the ground. He hasn’t even started racing yet and he looks like he is all set to go. He also appears to have a nice stretch working for him.
Zenny it so nice that you keep in touch with Coz. I have added his name to my virtual stable. I am thinking his debut should be coming up soon.
Of course Princess Z looks beautiful and as adorable as ever. The surprise with her is she has gotten so big. Boy they don’t stay little very long do they.
You have beautiful kids Zenny. We can see our precious Zenny in all of them.
Love you Zenny. Love your whole family.

Sheena. Happy Birthday to Mrs Moss, and many more of them.
Osprey names are very good. Congrats on your correct guess.
Have you seen that new photo on Moose’s twitter? I think that it’s Marty, not the Moosester. Tag’s racing this weekend? Great to hear. Sea The Stars is doing well with his kids. I saw that picture of Kauto. Always looks magnificent. Neigh x 9.
Poor Nissy. The weather wrecks havoc. Thunderstorms on the horizon here.
Getting my deck renovated. It’s been going on now for a week. So far nothing done. The guy said today that they are a week behind schedule. No kidding?
Free the Moose! Let the Moose run free!

Thank you Team Zenyatta . Ann you said you had to up your game because you forgot how intelligent Zenyatta is and how much she understands. I hope she enjoyed seeing Coz in training with John.
I hope to be able to see her in September when we go to KY for Secretariat’s Festval.

Dear Max.Yes,that’sMoose’s friend Mission to Mars aka Marty, his lass was back in work after her holidays. We’ll most probably get thunder too if it turns too hot.Oh, workmen are the same the world over it seems. Are you supplying them with tea or coffee? That might shift them to get the work done!Good Luck!I read that, at long last, TJ McNamara has home.May God bless him and his family.Free the Moose.PU Dan and all sick horses everywhere.Niss4Premier of Canada.Sheena.
Max
Sheena. Marty is a lot like the Moose, but you can tell by the forehead that he is not the elusive Moose. Marty also has a more innocent look about him. Moosie is definitely a bad boy. He should however be free!
Good news about TJ. Hope that TJ has recovered some mobility. He’s been in the hospital for nearly a year and a half.
I’ve decided to go into denial about the deck and ignore the whole business. I don’t need the adverse effects on the blood pressure that too much inquiry on that subject might bring. Besides handing out coffee would mean first going into the kitchen. I don’t go there.
Free the Moose! Let the Moose go free!
