Zenyatta will not be bred this year. She continues to do well and is looking great with her new paddock buddy—even sharing her cookies. We’ll post more photos of them soon!
We appreciate all of the love and support her fans have shown. While we understand the concern the public has for Zenyatta’s well-being, we ask that you do not contact Lane’s End Farm to inquire about Zenyatta or her foals. We do our best to be generous with information and to share Zenyatta’s life with her fans through this website. Zenyatta.com will continue to be the source of official updates on all things Zenyatta.

Have not been on site for awhile so I did not know about Queen Z losing her foal. I am so sorry for the loss. How is her yearling filly doing? and Ziconic? Understand Coz has a new career. That is great.

Dear Rose:
The link below is the Blog post just before this latest one on Z. It’s a celebration of Beautiful Baby Girl’s first Birthday Cupcake. Love and Hugs, JB

There are 2 nice photos of Rachel’s Valentina and her Curlin boy on Stonestreet’s facebook. Looks as if he might be a member of the Chestnut club.

Dear Shirlee:
Thanks; will look for them. Love and Hugs, JB

Dear Shirlee:
Adorable photos of RV and her Chestnut Curlin colt. Noted they are pasture mates of Cavorting (daughter of Bernie) and her foal. Also My Miss Aurelia and her baby. A lot of racing talent there. Love and Hugs, JB

I was really sorry to see that the ZENYATTA people had to post don’t contact LANE’S END FARM! Come on people Zenyatta is not yours! We have been allowed to follow her through the graciousness of her owners and Lane’s End working with them. Are you trying to ruin it for all of us? Keep your view on breeding her or not to yourself, your do not own her or pay her bills etc.
Don’t ruin our being able to have contact with her because you believe you know best! What ever decisions are made do not belong to you to make. Just enjoy being a silent part of her life.
Michele Briggs
I totally agree. I think Lane’s End Farm has been in business long enough to know what is good for their broodmares and would never endanger any of them. Zenyatta looks wonderful. Thank you for sharing blogs about her and her foals. I look forward to each new one.

Dear Sheena:
Should have chicks soon. Oh, so happy for Clara. Rest and eat your fill beautiful girl. Goodnight.
Congrats to beautiful HdG and her new baby girl. Wonder if she’s a Grey like Daddy. Love and Hugs, JB
Donna Z
Hi, Judy,
Havre De Grace’s filly is a chestnut with a white face. I could not see her legs. There is a photo of mom & baby in their stall on Timber Town Stable’s Facebook page with a promise of more photos to come.
I am upset that there needed to be a post asking people to stop calling Lane’s End about Zenyatta and her 2018 foal. Z’s connections have been far more than generous and open with her fans about everything concerning her. There is no need for anyone to bother the staff caring for her to answer personal requests for information. In the future, everyone, please be patient and respectful; we will be told what we need to know about Zenyatta.
Judy Berube
Dear Donna Z:
Thank you for this info on HdG’s girl. She must be another cutie Tapit Red Head! I’ll look for the photo. Love and Hugs, JB
Judy Berube
Dear Donna Z:
I found the photo of HdG and her filly. From what I could see of her through the stall netting, she has a full blaze on her little face. Can’t wait to see more photos of her. Love and Hugs, JB

Dear Z, COZ, ZI, BBG and DC:
Stay comfy and cozy and Happy Dreams. Love and Hugs, JB

Makes perfect sense not to breed her this year and the best thing for her.

On the Ramsey farm facebook there is a photo of Ken’s grandson and his new wife, former jockey Katie Clawson. And guess whose name is on her hat! Even the Kitten people love Zenyatta.
Judy Berube
Dear Shirlee:
Isn’t she the sweet girl that posted here a while ago. She told us about her dream to become a jockey and then let us know she was living her dream. Congrats to her and her husband. Love and Hugs, JB
shirleeinindy
Judy,
I think she is. She has retired as a jockey and is working with the Ramsey farm horses and he is working as an assistant trainer. She had a very promising career as a jockey but decided to give it up.
Judy Berube
Dear Shirlee:
Well, she’s still living her dream working with horses. Wish her all the best success as a trainer. God Bless her. Love and Hugs, JB

Greatest photo ever. Thanks for posting.

It was sunday may 31st 1970 the great horse went down in his box and fell asleep forever.Three days later Nijinsky in little more than 2 mins won £60,000 for running just 12furlongs.Arkle’s whole career earnings were £75,000 a record at that time but Arkle won by galloping almost 100 miles and jumping 500 fences and hurdles. It was’nt for the money that Arkle ran his heart out.He did it because he loved his own speed, strength and agility and the cheer from the crowds.I have watched many thoroughbreds in my lifetime but he was the happiest horse I have ever known. His lifestyle even when racing was natural he did his share on the farm and the yard was always full of children dogs lads playing football and a stream of visitors to see Himself. His summers with the Duchess were idyllic.
Those of us who witnessed this phenomenon will always feel privileged we were around in his lifetime.I believe his record at Sandown still stands he broke Mill House’s heart that day but he still wrote to him after the injury that ended his glorious career. He was and remains the greatest steeplechaser of all time.He will always be remembered with love and an undying gratitude.X
Indeed the world seemed to cheer him,
Because his like they won’t see again;
This horse called after a mountain
Is beyond the reach of a pen.
Marshall (NC Broad)
Dear Sheena,
Very nice. RIP beautiful Arkle
Thanks for sharing this.
Hugs and Love
Max
The unfortunate part of all this is the decision to put his skeleton on display. The horse should be in the earth from which we all came.
sheena.davies(wales)
Maybe the Duchess was worried what would happen to his grave after her death.Bryanstown was her home.I often wonder why they did’nt bury him alongside his mum Bright Cherry.
Max
Bright Cherry was a nice chestnut. Arkle was descended from Nearco on the sire line as was Nijinsky. Good coincidence.
Judy Berube
Dear Sheena:
Nice tribute to the great Arkle. RIP Champ. Love and Hugs, JB

BGG,
Thanks for the info. Of course, no matter how many times I watch, The Goer never wins the Derby. Saw him a few times at Claiborne before his untimely death.
Beautiful chestnut son of my beloved Alydar.

Delrene from Carlsbad, Ca
Zarzu was a really beautiful filly. So happy to know she is well cared for in Japan.
Thank you for video.
I was hoping that Jerry Hollendorfers horse would run in the Belmont. His name escapes me but he came in 4th in the KD.
Judy Berube
Dear Delrene:
That’s the horse that our Shirlee likes; Instilled Regard. He’s a closer and should like the distance. He broke 17th; ran into trouble and in spite of that finished 4th in the Derby. Love and Hugs, JB

Cracksman had to work hard to win the Coronation cup.He has never liked the Epsom track goes to show Frankel would never have won a Derby.Royal Ascot next.No chicks yet at the Dyfi but LS is back.
Judy Beeube
Congrats Cracksman. Love and Hugs, JB
Max
Gosden says that the horse does not like to run on a down incline as is the configuration of the track at Epsom. Cracksman is fine on an up incline. They are not going to make him run on any track like that again. I like to hear that kind of thing from a trainer who takes the needs of the horse into consideration.
sheena.davies(wales)
John Gosden is one of the best. You could see Cracksman was uncomfortable throughout the race. His class won the day.He will be more suited to Ascot.I doubt he would have raced at Epsom if Enable had’nt got injured.
