Zenyatta will not be bred this year. She continues to do well and is looking great with her new paddock buddy—even sharing her cookies. We’ll post more photos of them soon!
We appreciate all of the love and support her fans have shown. While we understand the concern the public has for Zenyatta’s well-being, we ask that you do not contact Lane’s End Farm to inquire about Zenyatta or her foals. We do our best to be generous with information and to share Zenyatta’s life with her fans through this website. Zenyatta.com will continue to be the source of official updates on all things Zenyatta.

Wonderful article by Steve Haskin about Wanderin Boy.
Marshall (NC Broad)
Dear Barbara,
Thanks for the heads-up about Steve Haskin’s article! What an amazing warrior Wanderin Boy was, and how tragic an end he had. Steve has written another wonderful piece to honor those remarkable unsung heroes of racing.
Hope all here will go to http://www.bloodhorse.com to read this outstanding article about a great Wanderin Boy. (just google bloodhorse.com) He deserves to be remembered.
Hugs and Love

Dear Marshall.I read this article on twitter the other night.Such a tragic end for a courageous horse .How he kept on racing after all those injuries.Poor Wanderin Boy RIP Hugs and love.

Dear Momma Z,
You must be so proud of Coz! He is doing wonderfully in his new career. He looks happy and he has a better life than he did as a race horse. His new best friend is a boxer dog. You need to have someone at Lanes End show you at least some of his videos on the De Sousa’s Facebook page or maybe Ann can do it when she visits you again.
I hope that both Ziconic and Z17 are doing well. Z17 should be going to the Mayberry’s soon if she hasn’t left already.
We’re looking forward to the photos of you and your pasture mate and hope that they will be posted soon. Have a great summer, Zenyatta!

hoping to hear the 2019 BC will be back at santa anita – so we can all celebrate the 10 year anniversary of zenyatta’s huge win in the BC classic that year – zenyatta, you are still the best I have ever seen – and I mean that – there have been two TC winners since you left the track….. but to me, you are still the best runner I have ever seen in my life – you ran 20 gutsy winning races – a true heart of a champion – nothing will ever change about that – praying you are well big beautiful girl – and thank you again for all the happy memories – stay well pretty girl – you have a special place in my heart – always and forever – love, monica in long beach

Remembering ZPrincess is always a combination of joy and heartache. I was so looking forward to seeing Justify continue his career, to see just how great he could be. Keeping him healthy is the only thing that matters. This heat is keeping me indoors. It’s been over a hundred here in Deep East Texas. Everyone is talking about the abundance of ticks this year. I picked up a tick on my way out to the mailbox! Keep cool everyone.

Safe trip to all the horses today. Anxious to see the Haskell. Good Magic, this is your chance to show that you are special. Just had the misfortune to run into a freak of nature in Justify. Sort of like poor Sham against Secretariat.

Dear Shirlee:
Godspeed GM and all the horses and riders; safe and sound. GM is a brave, courageous, talented boy. Love and Hugs, JB

Dear Shirlee,
I don’t know about the Haskell, but the Jim Dandy Stakes will be on FS2 at 6PM (EDT) today. Hope someone knows where the Haskell can be found.

Dear Sheena,
Thanks for the link of Coz’s first show today — he looks wonderful and is certainly coming along.
Yes, congratulations to Chasing Yesterday and Mike Smith on their win! American Pharoah’s little half sister looked so good. Nice win.
Congratulations to Tenfold and RS on the Jim Dandy, too. VR and JV were a bit late in their charge.
Hugs and Love

Dear Marshall:
I thought Tenfold ran a great race today. VR finished very well too; as you say, moved a bit too late. Love and Hugs, JB

Treve’s filly foal by Shalaa has been named PARIS.So perfect for her given her mother’s 2 Arc victories.
Soon Welshman Geraint Thomas will be crowned the winner of this year’s Tour de France.Already a double Olympic gold medalist this is the icing on the cake.
At last the British summer has began lots of rain and wind!

Dear Sheena:
Love that name. Hope Paris follows in mama’s footsteps. Glad your getting some relief from the heat. Still no rain for us here.

Dear Max and Z Fans:
Max, thinking of you and hoping all is well.
Some sad news from the farm. Angela has told me that Frank the Emu has passed away. She didn’t go into detail. RIP beautiful, funny boy. How they have your favorite snack, jelly Munchkins, for you in Heaven. Some of you may remember the video of Frank inspecting the horses. I’ve posted it again below. Love and Hugs, JB

The new season of Poldark not yet started here. I watched several of the older episodes as they ran them all summer. Think they’ll start the new season in Sept. Can’t wait!!
Sally B. (cherish Zenyatta and all her foals)
Awwww; I just came here and read about Frank Judy. I remember reading about him in the past. You betcha they will have his favorite snack or will learn about it soon.
Love n hugs, Sally B
Marshall (NC Broad)
Dear Judy,
So sorry to hear of Frank’s passing. Don’t know how old he was, but it seems that he left this world too soon. I know he had a good life at the farm. Condolences to Angela and all who loved him. :-(
Hugs and Love
Judy Berube
Dear Marshall:
I’m sad at Frank’s passing too. I don’t know how old he was when Angela rescued him. I think she said he was around three years old. He’s been on the farm for almost four years, so he was not that old. I have read that the lifespan of Emus is 10 to 20 years. Love and Hugs, JB
Marshall (NC Broad)
Dear Judy,
Poor Frank should have had much more life to live, bless him.
RIP Frank — you brought smiles to those who knew you, both at the farm and here on Z’s blog.
Glad you are feeling better, JB.
Hugs and Love

Dear Shirlee and Judy,
Yes indeed, Good Magic had the good mo-jo today! Handsome boy did splendidly. Those chestnuts are really something else. :-)
Congratulations to GM and all connections on the Haskell win!
Hugs and Love

Judy,
I was very happy for Good Magic. He ran a good race and was not all out any of the time. With the retirement of Justify, GM is the best 3 year old racing. Wish we could have seen more of Justify. The BC would have been very exciting if he and GM were both in it.
Judy Berube
Dear Shirlee:
I agree; Magic is the best of the this year’s three year olds with Justy retired. Would have been exciting to see them both race in the BC. Wishing both of them all the best. Magic in his future races and Justify in retirement. Healthy, long lives. Love and Hugs, JB

Dear Zsters and my dear Zenyatta
It has been quite a while since I have posted, in fact, the site does not recognize me and so I must do the “check-in” so to speak.
It bothered me so much I had not spoken to Z or any one and I had to come here.
I truly am happy for Coz. He is so gorgeous and moves effortlessly as he prepares for a jump. He is my winner.
I was saddened that Justify would not continue to the Breeders Cup, but I would rather see this beautiful boy retire than for them to have taken a chance with him on the track.
Yes, it is all about money either on the race track or at stud. But, I believe he will be treated well, have freedom to run in a large paddock so I am happy for him.
Every time I still see a picture of Zenyatta my heart melts; any good news, my heart jumps with joy; which also includes her foals too.
I love you Zenyatta with kisses
and to all your foals

This question is for TEAM Z
Does anyone know when our little Filly will be named?
Any chance we could get updates on her?
Hope Queen Z is doing well. Wish we could hear more about her pretty filly.

Dear Z Fans:
This is supposedly one of the Storm Cat Clone babies. Don’t know if he’s the one that died in a paddock accident or not. He’s a Beauty. If he survived, I’m guessing he must be about four years old now. Love and Hugs, JB

Dear Judy,
Thanks for posting these links. Pretty interesting stuff — I hope they do not pursue this though. Both cloned colts are lovely. My guess would be perhaps the younger one (the one shown in your second link) is the survivor. It seems more likely (to me) that the older one may have met with the fatal accident in the paddock, but it isn’t clear.
What crazy times we are living in! Cloned foals, now guns made by anyone with a 3D printer — can individual A-bombs be far behind? Have we entered The Twilight Zone?
Sorry, I got off-track. Hope I didn’t offend anyone. Apologies to any who were. :-)
Hugs and Love
Judy Berube
Dear Marshall:
I totally agree with you on both counts. I was taken aback by this article as I had no clue this was done.
It’s too bad the regulation ban on making homemade 3D guns has been recently lifted. Love and Hugs, JB
