Zenyatta will not be bred this year. She continues to do well and is looking great with her new paddock buddy—even sharing her cookies. We’ll post more photos of them soon!
We appreciate all of the love and support her fans have shown. While we understand the concern the public has for Zenyatta’s well-being, we ask that you do not contact Lane’s End Farm to inquire about Zenyatta or her foals. We do our best to be generous with information and to share Zenyatta’s life with her fans through this website. Zenyatta.com will continue to be the source of official updates on all things Zenyatta.

Judy,
Just catching up on my reading and am so sorry to hear about your back. Arthur and sciatica both plague my back and legs. Take it easy and treat as you are with heat. I know how painful it is. I tell my friends sometimes it feels as if my backside is going to fall off and I almost wish it would. Hope you are feeling better soon. In the meantime, take it easy and don’t rush back into things.
The De Sousas have posted a video of Coz JUMPING. He is going to be in a show this weekend! Makes my heart glad to see what his life is now.

Dear Shirlee:
Thank you for your sweet and very witty comments. Have me laughing out loud. Sorry you

Sea of Class spoils the Ballydoyle party with a smooth win in the Irish Oaks.A superb ride by James Doyle. She is the William Haggas trained daughter of Sea The Stars and owned by the Tsui family.Hopefully she will stay in training.Congratulations to all connections.

It was lovely watching Coz prepping for his show. He certainly seems to have found his niche. Since it has been a while since hearng about the rest of the family, here’s hoping that Z17 is preparing to go or has already gone to racehorse school and perhaps will be getting a proper name very soon, that Ziconic is enjoying his respite and that Zenny is enjoying just being a horse during her time off,

TAKE TWO! It appears that my post didn’t go through so will try again. I just wanted to wish every one a glorious summer and to recap a bit of what’s been happening with Zenyatta and her children. First, Coz certainly seems to have found his niche. It was lovely watching him prepare for his next show. Thanks to the De Sousa website we will still allowed to keep up with him. Even though there hasn’t been a new post for a while, let’s hope that Ziconic is enjoying his respite, that Z17 is now or soon will be going to racehorse school as well as getting a proper name, Last but certainly not least, may Queen Zenyatta enjoy just being a horse.

A severe storm raged through Kentucky yesterday, according to Bloodhorse.com, causing severe damage to some of the horse farms. Lane’s End’s electricity was knocked out. The horses are apparently all safe, but I’m not sure what the status is now.

Love the photos of Coz! He is a beautiful boy and looks like both Zenny and Bernardini, but he most definitely has the Queens ears. It’s great that we get to see and hear so much about him. He seems happy.
It’s been two months since we’ve heard any news or have seen any recent pictures of Zenyatta and Z17. It would be very much appreciated if someone from Team Z could let us know how they are doing, I am hopeful that by now Zenyatta has fully recovered and i am curious to know if Z17 is in training, has she been named? When will Ziconic return to the track? We fans love them so very much and are greatful to the Mosses for sharing them with us. Also thank you Lane’s End for taking such good care of them.
Blessings to all.

Janie (in L.A.)
Just read that Justify will be retired – no Breeder’s Cup Classic for him. His ankle situation wasn’t healing as Bob Baffert would have liked, so the decision was made to retire him. Glad I got to see him at Santa Anita. He’ll be paraded this Saturday at Del Mar before heading to Kentucky. Have a happy retirement beautiful boy!
Marshall (NC Broad)
I saw that announcement while watching the Saratoga races yesterday. Healing takes place on its own schedule so this is definitely the right thing for him. BB looks after his charges so no more racing for Justify. It is disappointing, but Justify has done so much in such a short time. He has done everything asked of him and more. They had already stated that he wasn’t going to race next year, but we will miss his presence one last time at the Classic.
Happy retirement, beautiful boy! Thanks for the thrills. May you enjoy a long, healthy life with much love and good care. Power up, big boy! ❤️
Hugs and Love
Barbara Brayton
Well, shoot. What a disappointment that Justify is retiring. Maybe I am wrong, but horse racing today seems to be racing horses, especially stallions, for maybe two years, three if we are lucky. Then the stallions are sent to stud, because that is where the money is. There they sire foals that will then race for two or three years, and then retired, and so on.
Don’t get me wrong, the horse comes first, always. You can see though, how it is hard to hold on to fans when a horse races for such a short time. Thank goodness for the geldings.
shirleeinindy
Good wishes for Justify as he begins his new career. Hope he is a roaring success as a sire.
Thank goodness for the geldings, the mares and the brave owners of horses like Gun Runner and Mind Your Biscuit. And IWC’s people and Calumet with Patch for giving them a chance to prove themselves and for the fans to enjoy them for one more year. Hope IWC is happy when fall and winter roll around.
sheena.davies(wales)
Dear Judy.It is always sad to see a young horse retire. He has only raced for 4 months.I wish him a long and happy life at Ashford.Give me a gelding anyday!
Telyn left the nest and returned just 1 min and 36 seconds later with a mullet beating Monty’s record by 30 seconds.Goodnight God bless you LM PC HT and all the sweeties.Love and hugs SheenaX
Coz prepares for his first show .Good luck!

Dear Barbara, Shirlee, Sheena and Z Fans:
As with American Pharoah, they are seeing $$$ with Justy. Retiring him to stud means millions in stud fees. Chromie was the exception to the rule racing as a five year old; brave warrior.
Wishing Justy a long, happy, healthy retirement, but it would have been wonderful to see him return to race for another year, providing he came back 100 percent healthy. Maybe he will stamp his babies with his gorgeous looks and talent. Love and Hugs, JB
Judy Berube
Dear Sheena:
Yes, was hoping to see Justy in the Classic. Wow, Telyn set a new record. Thanks for the video of COZ. Looking good; all the best of luck Sweet First Prince. Goodnight. Love and Hugs, JB, LM and all the Sweeties

Dear Sheena,

Thanks for sharing it, love and hugs Ingrid.

Siena Farm posted a photo of foals playing together on their Face Book. Just looking at how rough they are, you can imagine what might have happened to our beloved Z Princess. I still grieve for her and guess I always will. It is a comfort to think about how good her days here on earth were. All she knew was love and kindness from humans. She never felt the sting of the whip, the weight of a saddle or experienced a human in that saddle. She frolicked and played in the sunlight in a beautiful bluegrass pasture all of her short life.

Dear Shirlee:
Tears still well in my eyes too. What a gorgeous girl. Was watching Saratoga racing yesterday on Fox Sports and they showed a video of War Front. My God how she favored him; wonderful conformation, only hers was even better. Terrible loss. Love and Hugs, JB
Marshall (NC Broad)
Dear Shirlee,
Beautifully stated, my friend. Thank you for the silver-lining. That’s all I have to say — my eyes are misting over. :-(

Dear Shirlee,
I loved your post. I still miss ZPrincess, too, and become very sad when I think of her. Your post will help me be less sad. Thank you.
