Zenyatta will not be bred this year. She continues to do well and is looking great with her new paddock buddy—even sharing her cookies. We’ll post more photos of them soon!
We appreciate all of the love and support her fans have shown. While we understand the concern the public has for Zenyatta’s well-being, we ask that you do not contact Lane’s End Farm to inquire about Zenyatta or her foals. We do our best to be generous with information and to share Zenyatta’s life with her fans through this website. Zenyatta.com will continue to be the source of official updates on all things Zenyatta.
Mary Prater
Team Z,
Please give more Zenyatta and ‘family’ photos more often? Any announcement of name for foal yet?
Praying for a safe and healthy year for Zenyatta and her ‘kids’. Maybe this newest one will take after mom, on the track….. wouldn’t that be wonderful!!!
Thank you

My forever horse Zenyatta; It seems ages since I have been here to let you know I am so grateful you are doing so well and as ever are the most beautiful and have a beautiful soul too. I saw a latest video of your first born Coz and he is enjoying his life and looks gorgeous like you. If there ever comes a time that you are allowed to be visited I will drive the miles, no matter the weather, just to be with you. I do want to tell you that I think you are the greatest race horse of my life, that I fell in love with you so early on and wanted all the best for you. Your dance just was the icing on the cake because you showed your personality on the track. And as a momma to be I have been so excited, that there has been a lot of pacing, pacing. I truly love you Zenyatta!!

Quite a story on one of Curlin’s three year old girls, a beautiful Chestnut named Dixie Moon. Rooting for her. Scroll down to Contents and click on “Filly With Million Dollar Scar”. Love and Hugs, JB

Dear Judy,
Thanks for the heads-up and the article about Dixie Moon. She sure is a beauty! Will be pulling for her, too. I am sure Mama didn’t mean to gash her baby’s neck, perhaps just an ill-placed reprimand. Godspeed and safe racing in the Queen’s Plate tomorrow, Dixie Moon!
Hugs and Love
Judy Berube
Dear Marshall:
You know that’s something that I have always marveled at. The Moms are so huge compared to their little ones and the babies have no fear of being stepped on. It’s always made me a bit anxious though.
Godspeed Dixie Moon and all safe and sound. Love and Hugs, JB
shirleeinindy
Judy,
Thanks for posting the article on Dixie Moon. She is a good looking filly with a very very nice family tree! As you know, I am a sucker for the Curlins. Wish a safe trip and good luck for her and all the horses.
And it is going to be a heat index of 111 tomorrow in Indy. Kinda hope they cancel racing at some of the tracks because of this heat.
Judy Berube
Dear Shirlee:
I know how much you love Curlin and his babies.
I was thinking the same thing; hope they cancel. We’re getting really high temps and humidity on the East Coast too. Love and Hugs, JB

Dear BGG,
Thanks for posting this article by Steve Haskin. I enjoyed reading it very much; although, I have not seen a lot of the movies. Would love to see Phar Lap, The Homestretch, Kentucky and several other classic films mentioned. I used to love Abbott and Costello so would love to see It Ain’t Hay, too. I will put Steve’s choices on a list of movies to be on the lookout for.
Was 50-1 only in limited release? I don’t remember it coming to Chapel Hill because I certainly would have gone to see it — love Mine That Bird.

On this day in 2015 we were devastated to hear that our beautiful Kauto Star had been euthanised because of injuries he has sustained in the field the previous wednesday. How? Why?He had retired healthy and sound and we had looked forward to seeing him for many years to come.Sadly we will never know what happened that fateful day and as always I prefer not to recall his later years.I remember the superstar chaser and especially his victories in some of out greatest NH chases. On June 5th this this year he was there to greet his old friend and neighbour Denman.A joyful reunion no stable walls to separate them anymore.Denman may only have outlived Kauto by 3 years but his life post racing had been a happy one.Now they gallop in Heaven’s green pastures forever while we on earth lament their loss but are eternally grateful for the memories. You really were a star Kauto and I carry you in my heart forever.RIP Cariad
There is a time for many words,
And there is also a time for sleep.

RIP Kauto and Denman; beautiful boys. Love and Hugs, JB

Well done both teams.

Congratulations to Zenyatta’s Mike and Midnight Bisou for their win in the Mother Goose at Belmont today. Mike never asked her to run & her ears were forward for the whole race. I think she won by around 6 lengths & beat the horse who beat Monomy Girl.
I hope that all horses & riders came out of their races in the heat ok today.
We’re predicted to make a run at the record of 99 here in Albany, NY tomorrow. The heat index with the humidity is supposed to be around 110 or higher. No relief from the 90+ weather until at least next weekend.
I hope that everyone has access to somewhere to stay cool during this hot weather.
Elizabeth in NM, we haven’t heard from you in awhile and I miss you. I hope that all is going well for you. Please send a post letting us know how you are doing if you see this.

Thanks Judy. I saw she finished last but did not know she was eased. I think the heat is causing problems for some of the horses at all the tracks.

Dear Shirlee and Marshall:
DM did walk off on her own, so that’s good news. Poor baby; maybe was heat related.
