Zenyatta will not be bred this year. She continues to do well and is looking great with her new paddock buddy—even sharing her cookies. We’ll post more photos of them soon!
We appreciate all of the love and support her fans have shown. While we understand the concern the public has for Zenyatta’s well-being, we ask that you do not contact Lane’s End Farm to inquire about Zenyatta or her foals. We do our best to be generous with information and to share Zenyatta’s life with her fans through this website. Zenyatta.com will continue to be the source of official updates on all things Zenyatta.

Congratulations to Aidan and Ryan Moore top trainer and jockey at Royal Ascot 2018.Also well done to the leading sire of the meet Frankel.Lots of differing opinions on the incident in the stalls with Harry. Some blame the starter some the jockey.I think they wanted to get the horses away quickly because Harry was upset and did’nt notice his leg was caught.Healing prayers for him.Otherwise it has been a marvellous week and such beautiful weather too.We were blessed.

Delrene from Carlsbad, Ca
Royal Ascot is amazing to watch. I still have some catching up to do.
Yesterday I read that Magnum Moon had a career ending injury and I do hope he recovers if never to race again. He is a gorgeous horse.
Get better soon.
Sweet blessings to all especially to Queen Zenyatta. Enjoy your summer on the farm.
Marshall (NC Broad)
Dear Delrene,
I hope Magnum Moon will be okay — Power up, boy! Prayers that he will heal and be able to live his life doing things other than racing (and being loved).

Dear Judy.Too soon yet to say if Harry Angel can defend his July cup crown. The cut is deep but not as serious as first thought. He will have a quiet week and they are going to work hard on his fear of the stalls.Lovely video of BB with Chasing Yesterday in the stall next to Justify!Goodnight God bless you LM PC HT and all the sweeties.Love and hugs SheenaXAnother great episode of Poldark tonight.
Judy Berube
Dear Sheena:
Healing prayers for Harry. This experience will no doubt increase his anxiety about the starting gate. Remember Ebby was really gate shy after banging her mouth in the gate. I think she even lost a couple of teeth. She really appeared to lose interest after that.
I’m sure they will be kind and patient with Harry. Love and Hugs, JB
Marshall (NC Broad)
Glad to hear that Harry Angel’s injury isn’t as serious as it was thought to be. Hope it heals up quickly and without any problems. Good luck in conquering those stalls, too.
Thanks for the update, Sheena.

Frankel’s win in the 2012 Queen Anne has been voted Ascot’s greatest moment.
Harry Angel is much brighter today according to trainer Clive Cox and is hopefully well on the road to recovery.

If you want heat, we will have it in Denver 100 degrees Fahrenheit for Thursday. I can’t stand it.
Best of luck to Magnum Moon on his recovery.

Dear Barbara:
I’m with you. Was dreading the Summer heat way back in March. Love and Hugs, JB

Dear Judy and Barbara,
Me, too!! My dread started with the lengthening of days after the winter solstice. Alas, summer heat and humidity are no friends of this warm-blooded human!
Hugs and Love — think COOL :-)

Dear Judy:AU from Manton Bay fledged today.North Wales was the hottest just over 31C.The bobs were trying to shelter under mum.No action taken against that stall handler who repeatedly punched a horse called Accolade because he was playing up in the stalls at Delaware. The owner was very angry at first but now says it is a dangerous job and the handler was frustrated so they are condoning his actions! The video is out there for all to see.No young horse deserved to be treated in that way.Goodnight God bless you LM PC HT and all the sweeties.Love and hugs SheenaX
Judy Berube
Dear Sheena:
That is just so wrong. The only thing that kind of treatment will do is make Accolade more afraid of the starting gate and could result in his or his rider being injured or worse. I know it’s dangerous for the handlers, the riders and the horses, but I do not believe striking the horse repeatedly will help reduce his fear of the gate or make him more amiable in attitude; I think the result of that treatment will be just the opposite.
Wow, good for AU. More will fledge soon. Goodnight. Love and Hugs, JB, LM and all the Sweeties
Sandy (northeast Ohio)
Belatedly, I’m adding BRAVOS to NBC Sports for their marvelous coverage of Royal Ascot!! ???. Their integration with ITV was seamless, and I loved every minute of it. So many great stories (e.g. Arthur Kitt) along with the photography covering every aspect of the event. I will never get caught up with “real life.” Saturday was the Ohio Derby, and we had several KY Derby also rans. The winner, Core Beliefs, came all the way from California along with Peter Eurton and Joe Talamo who arrived here on the red-eye just hours before the race. Also saw Tom Amoss (trainer of Lone Sailor), but Flameaway was without Mark Casse. He shot out of the gate, but was used up before the final stretch. We’re trying to prepare for a serious heat wave here. Predictions are for well over 90 for several days!
Judy Berube
Dear Sandy:
We have the same forecast starting this weekend. Stay cool. Dare I say it; hope we don’t lose power.
Love Flameaway too. Maybe next time. Love and Hugs, JB
Marshall (NC Broad)
Dear Sandy,
Welcome to the 90°+ club! Summer heat has indeed descended upon us.
Good to hear from you!
Hugs and Love
Donna Z
We’re headed for a heat wave here in upstate NY as well and are headed very close to the record of 99 for this weekend and into next week as well. The added very high humidity is going to make this dangerous weather for some people and pets. I can usually tolerate the heat, but not the humidity. I can’t wait for winter!
Marshall (NC Broad)
Amen, Donna!

Just to give everyone a laugh. At Churchill Saturday of the 8 races I bet, three of my picks had trouble at the gate and ended up trailing the field by many lengths. In fact one, Stealth, just stood there enjoying the view of the rumps of the other horses when the gate opened. He did close well for third. Another almost unseated the jock.
Do have to tell everyone how nice it is in the Roses lounge there for the day. If you go, highly recommend spending the $20 for seats there especially in this horrible hot weather.
Judy Berube
Dear Shirlee:
Too funny; I can relate. Hope your racing luck improves next time. Stealth must have been channelling The Moose. The Roses Lounge sounds lovely. Love and Hugs, JB
Marshall (NC Broad)
Dear Shirlee,
Thanks for the laugh! Sounds like Stealth could have possibilities though — finishing third after that kind of start was pretty good. Like Judy said, he must have had a “Moose moment”!
I will put the Roses Lounge on my bucket list. :-)
