Zenyatta will not be bred this year. She continues to do well and is looking great with her new paddock buddy—even sharing her cookies. We’ll post more photos of them soon!
We appreciate all of the love and support her fans have shown. While we understand the concern the public has for Zenyatta’s well-being, we ask that you do not contact Lane’s End Farm to inquire about Zenyatta or her foals. I really wish that we would hear something about ziconic and what is happening with him! I would like to know the name of the Queens new filly I understand they usually give their new yearlings their name in May but so far no news. Ann we are so greatfull the way you share the Queen with us and god will bless you for it, Zenyatta brings such joy to all of us who love her and she will be remembered forever!
sheena.davies(wales)
Ziconic has taken a break from the stables recently. If he still shows an interest in racing when he returns to John they hope to keep him on for another year.
Zara Tindall gave birth to a baby girl yesterday 9lbs 3ozs.Congratulations to the happy couple and daughter Mia.
A big upset in the Queen Anne as 33-1 shot Accidental Bishop wins for Eve Johnson Houghton.

What am I thinking?Accidental Agent won!!!

Blue Point has just won the King’s stand for Godolphin and William Buick.Lady Aurelia sadly disappointing.
Marshall (NC Broad)
Yes, I was watching RA this morning. Too bad for Lady Aurelia — Johnny said she was just flat today and didn’t fire, but she seemed to be okay. I certainly hope she was simply having an “off day”. Blue Point and WB ran a great race so Congratulations to them and all connections.
Congrats to Zara Tindall and husband on the birth of Mia! That’s quite a sizable delivery.
Frankie Dettori had himself a great first day — Congrats to him, his mounts and all connections!
Sorry that Fabricate didn’t come through for Her Majesty today.
Nice win by Lagostovegas today. She showed those guys. Congratulations!
Looking forward to the next several days of racing!
Hugs and Love
Marshall (NC Broad)
Oops!
Sorry I meant to say congratulations to Zara Tindall and husband on the birth of their second daughter — Mia is the firstborn. I goofed in thinking this was the first child.
Sincere apologies to the family.

John and Tanya Gunther’s Without Parole wins the St James Palace with Frankie Dettori aboard. He is a son of Frankel and the Gunthers were determined to keep him Tanya in tears leading him in.John said it meant more to him to win at Royal Ascot than the Triple Crown oops!Congratulations to the Gunthers,John Gosden,Frankie and of course Without Parole.
Marshall (NC Broad)
Dear Sheena,
Glad the Gunthers Without Parole won with Frankie abroad. Mr. Gunther is such a Frankel aficionado, and it worked out so well for them since they kept the Frankel colt and sold the Scat Daddy colt (Justify). Definitely not a bad job of breeding that Tanya planned!
Big Congratulations to Without Parole, Frankie and the Gunthers! Well done.

Dear Marshall.A wonderful day’s racing at Ascot A treble for Frankie. but a whip ban too just went a few over the limit in the last furlong.I had’nt realised John and Tanya owned Without Parole she reminded him that Justify had won the TC but winning at Ascot just meant more to John.
I love to see the jump jockeys and trainers in their top hats over 300yrs of racing tradition and our Royality too.Enjoy the rest of the meet.Love and hugs

Any way to get replays of the races at RA?

Poet’s Word wins the Prince of Wales beating a lethargic Cracksman and gives Sir Michael Stoute a record 76th win at Royal Ascot. It was very hot and humid there.Congratulations to Sir Michael and Poet’s Word.Sad to see Sir Henry’s record go.
vicki
The heat and humidity is awful. We have had some rain, too much in some spots. Every Sunday the thunder storms arrive for Downton Abbey and I lose my signal. Drat. Enjoyed the coverage on NBCS of the racing Saturday and Royal Ascot. All my love to Zenyatta.
Marshall (NC Broad)
Congratulations to all the winners at RA today!
Extra special congrats to Sir Michael Stoute who won twice today for a total of 77 Royal Ascot wins with Poet’s Word and Expert Eye!
I am so going to miss this beautiful racing next week. But for now, what fun!

Donna Alsabrook
I had win bets on Blue Point yesterday, Poet’s Word and Expert Eye today. It seems some of the favs are vulnerable this year. The racing has been tremendous so far. Looking forward to the next 3 days. TVG coverage has been very good.
Quarterhossgal
Nice to see the pictures of Ann and Coz. He looks like he is enjoying his new career. Was he gelded with his career change?
Haven’t seen any recent pictures of Queen Z’s yearling filly….does she look like the Queen?

Yes Coz was gelded before he embarked on his new career. There are photos of Z17 celebrating her birthday back in may,

Dear Judy.We are puzzled by Cracksman’s sluggish performance.I remember it was about august last year when he improved so hopefully.Hovis had a great day at the show. The pinning has begun with the chicks they had a fight yesterday Telyn just looked on.Goodnight God bless you LM PC HT and all the sweeties.Love and hugs SheenaX
Marshall (NC Broad)
Dear Sheena,
Maybe Cracksman prefers the autumn. I gather it is pretty warm this week at RA. Before the race, didn’t Mr. Gosdin say Cracksman would be sharper in the fall? (or something to that effect)
Hope he is okay.
Hugs and Love
Donna Z
It was wonderful to see Ann riding Coz. Isabella is doing a wonderful job retraining him for his new career. He seems to be so much happier than when he was racing. Thank you for posting the link to the updates every week, Sheena.
I just voted for Mike Smith for jockey of the year for the ESPY awards to be televised next month. You can vote as many times as you want, so all fellow Mike fans, please go to the ESPN website and vote for him. It says that you can vote from a mobile device, too. Zenyatta, you need to ask Charles to place your vote for Mike!
I hope you and Ziconic are both enjoying your time off, Momma Z. Soon your filly will be moving to Ocala for her initial training, I hope that Mike will be her jockey when she is ready to race.
I saw a note that Biscuits is supposed to race in the Whitney at Saratoga next. Justify may also be at Saratoga for the Travers, although I suspect he will go to the Haskell instead because Bob B tends to send his horses there. Maybe NYRA will up the Travers purse high enough to lure Bob to run Justify in the Travers, though, or maybe he will run in both races. I hope will get to Saratoga to see both horses as well as Mike Smith in person.
I hope that everyone is having a good summer so far. Happy First Day of Summer, tomorrow!
Marshall (NC Broad)
Dear Donna Z,
Thanks for the ESPY awards voting alert. I will certainly vote for Mike Smith!
Now I will check out the ESPN website (before I go to bed).

Huge congratulations to Stradivarius a son of Sea the Stars as he wins the Ascot Gold cup.A first for John Gosden and 6th for Frankie Dettori. Also celebrating his 60th winner with a flying dismount.Just loved the good ground.
Marshall (NC Broad)
That was an exciting race indeed. Stradivarius is brilliant and very handsome! Big Congratulations to him, Frankie, Mr. Gosden and all connections!! Well done.
I enjoyed seeing Her Majesty awarding the trophy and other honors, too. One can see how much she loves this event and all those involved, especially the horses, by her lovely radiant smiles. :-)

Another winner for Sir Michael Stoute as Eqtidaar wins the Commonwealth not a race for the favourites! Some disgruntled punters. The fillies up next.
Update on Stradivarius he lost a shoe winning the Gold Cup yesterday and clip pierced his foot but he is better today.Makes his win yesterday all the more fantastic.
Marshall (NC Broad)
Dear Sheena,
Wow, I didn’t realize that Stradivarius lost a shoe in the Gold Cup! I am glad he is doing okay. What a lot of determination and fortitude he has!
Congratulations to Sir Michael on his 78th win! Congrats to Eqtidaar and all connections!

Donna Z, I have never met Gary Stevens or Mike Smith. I live 2 hours from Saratoga, so hopefully i will get a chance to meet them. Thanks for posting this information. I was hoping Justify would be in the Travers, but I read that he was going to the Haskell. Do you know if this is confirmed? Do you live near Saratoga too? I am in Massachusetts but 2 hours from Saratoga.

A very emotional winner of the Chesham for Tom Dascombe.Ceiling Kitty died giving birth to Arthur Kitt they had to get him out quickly and he was resuscitated 6 times then a foster mare was found.Kitty must have been looking down as her son won today.Congratulations to Arthur Kitt and all his loving connections.A real feel feelgood story
Crystal Ocean wins the Hardwicke an 11th in the race for Sir Michael Stoute Ryan deserted Coolmore to ride him.A massive run from Red Verdon in 2nd.Congratulations to all connections.
Marshall (NC Broad)
Dear Sheena,
That was a sweet win in the Chesham! I got teary eyed when I learned of Arthur Kitt’s birth — what a survivor! Loved the photo of him looking over the neck of his foster mum. Really cute. I know Kitty watched from above with loving pride.
Congratulations to all winners today. I will miss Royal Ascot now until next year.
Hope Harry Angel will be okay.

Owner Andrew Black kept the foster mare as well.He recalled the night Arthur was born with his leg twisted around his neck.It was tough and go for awhile but he fought to live.God bless him and his dear mum.Love and hugs.

Dear Sheena:
May St. Francis protect Arthur always; brave boy. Love and Hugs, JB

Thanks for the post, Sheena.

Rather controversial Diamond Jubilee as Harry Angel got very upset in the stall.A lot think the starter was wrong in letting them go Harry’s leg got caught on the board and he never stood a chance.Merchant Navy won for Coolmore only been with Aidan a few months and going back to Australia now for stud duties.Hope Harry’s leg will heal quickly.
